As we moved North through Washington State, we found three great things to do in and around Olympic National Park and Forest. The first stop was a popular cliff jump spot at Party Rock on Lake Cushman. Next, we made a quick stop in Dosewallips State Park, to check out the big, beautiful Rocky Brook Falls. It had a nice swimming hole and even a little (bumpy) surprise! Finally, we ended our day atop the High Ridge Trail up in the mountains of Olympic National Park, where we saw plenty of wildlife and had epic views over to Canada and of most of the glacier covered peaks.

My name is Jesse St Louis (AKA Infamous JSL) and I'm an actor that likes to go on awesome adventures between gigs. I've been called a "no frills Bear Grylls" but mostly I've been called an Actor. Traveler. Smart-ass.
So today we are exploring northern Washington and hitting a few more spots of waterfall,
maybe some other stuff.
Northern Washington.
Let's do it.
Lake Cushman and I believe it's Olympic National Park or Olympic National Forest, anyway.
There is a spot here called Party Rock and I'm just getting ready to depth check.
This water is actually super warm compared to a lot of the creeks and rivers that we've
been in up to this point on our trip.
It feels pretty nice.
So I'm going to depth check this Party Rock jump.
Looks like 20, 25 foot jump.
And the crazy thing, which I'll show you in a minute with the GoPro, is there's these
trees in the water.
It looks like they cut them flush with the water level.
So they're just like these tree snubs sticking up out of the ground, kind of like what we
saw down in Clear Lake, Oregon.
So I'm excited to show you that.
Well, Party Rock here, Lake Cushman, absolutely beautiful.
I will say there's a bunch of garbage, graffiti and broken glass.
So whoever's doing that needs to stop.
If you're a local, please encourage people to pack out their trash.
It's lighter on the way out, guys.
It's lighter on the two second climb out to your car.
If you carried the beer in, it was heavier when it was full.
Now that it's an empty beer bottle or can, it's lighter.
Plus you get that deposit back.
I think they do that in Washington, probably five or ten cents.
Guys, pack out your garbage.
Treat this place with respect.
This is paradise.
And if no one else takes care of it, nobody will.
It's your responsibility.
It's my responsibility.
I'm going to have to pack out some garbage for some slobs who were here previously.
So now we are headed to a place called Rocky Brook Falls, which apparently tampering with
this place is a federal offense.
They must be referring to whatever this power station building is.
But saw some people pumping up some tubes, so might be a good tubing spot or maybe they're
just going to be floating on those to chill.
Not sure how long this hike is.
But northern Washington, absolutely beautiful on this bay as we're driving up the 101.
Pretty sweet.
Well there you have it.
Rocky Brook Falls.
Pretty sweet.
Like a five minute walk up that wide trail.
I don't know what the signs were all about.
I don't know if there's a dam upstream that they release or what happens, but they're
making it seem like it's super treacherous.
But it seems pretty mellow.
Beautiful, nice clear blue pool over there.
Rocky Brook Falls in the Dos Wallops State Park.
It's like when you're getting spanked on each butt.
So it's two wallops.
Dos Wallops.
Ba-boom.
I think that's probably how they came up with the name.
Well there you have it.
Rocky Brook Falls.
Pretty awesome little swimming hole.
Not really a slide, more like a cheese grater.
Beautiful waterfall.
The water is nice and cool.
Was not expecting that.
One of the best swimming holes I've heard from locals in northern Washington.
So we got at least one more stop.
It's a nice midday refreshment.
A little log ride, a little bumpy slide, a little swimming hole.
Let's go see what's next.
The good news is we are in Olympic National Park in northwestern Washington State.
Saw some cool deer driving in.
Got beautiful views of some mountains here.
Bad news is we had a supreme ultimate awesome finale for this video planned.
Because they are relocating mountain goats that are invasive to Olympic National Park.
And they are relocating them by helicopter.
And we thought that would be awesome to check that out and film and show to you.
However, we got here late.
It's after 5 o'clock.
Because somebody had to slide that last waterfall we were at.
I mean...
Ma'am, why did you not want us to see goats today?
It's you.
I wanted to see them.
Okay.
So no goats, but we're hiking to the top of this high ridge trail.
One mile round trip.
Supposed to have 360 panorama views of the entire Olympic National Park.
So they are relocating these mountain goats because they've become a nuisance.
They're not indigenous to this area.
And they were introduced a long time ago by game hunters who wanted something to hunt in this area, I guess.
But what happens is the goats are attracted to salt.
So they're attracted to human urine and sweat.
And someone was actually killed by being gored by a mountain goat.
And so they're really making an effort to move them to the Cascades
where actually the native population there is dwindling.
So unfortunately only about 50% of the relocated mountain goats survive.
However, they don't belong in this area.
And they're becoming such a hazard, according to the park service and the park ranger we spoke to,
that if they can't relocate them, they might start issuing tags for people to hunt the mountain goats.
A few more days left exploring some last little nooks and crannies of Washington State.
Hoping to get over to the coast.
Hoping to find some sea caves.
And yeah, it's been a blast.
Washington has a lot more to offer than I originally thought for sure.
And I don't think it gets as much love.
Or at least it didn't get as much love from me because I'd only been to Oregon before.
And a small part of Washington.
But the whole Pacific Northwest, this road trip has been amazing.
Plenty more coming.
Headed to Vancouver Island in Canada in a few days.
So stay tuned. Get out there. Find your adventure.
And be infamous.
Infamous.
