Sometimes, if you're open to it, adventure finds you! While driving through Placerita Canyon and Little Tujunga, I accidentally stumbled across a beautiful hidden waterfall. It was a thoroughly enjoyable, unexpected adventure hike down to explore the hidden falls. While it appears that a lot of this area is still recovering from a past fire, there is an abundance of secondary growth and a ton of wildflowers in bloom. Finding this oasis was one of the highlights of my week!

My name is Jesse St Louis (AKA Infamous JSL) and I'm an actor that likes to go on awesome adventures between gigs. I've been called a "no frills Bear Grylls" but mostly I've been called an Actor. Traveler. Smart-ass.
Oh, look at that, look at that, wouldn't that feel good?
So I'm out off of Placerita Canyon Road today
in a section of Angeles National Forest
that I've never been in before.
And I just pulled over
because I saw these beautiful trees in the background.
I don't know if you can see them very well.
I was just checking out these trees
and this rock formation underneath here
and wasn't really planning on making a video today
or anything like that,
I'm just going for a nice drive
in a section of the mountains I haven't been in before.
And to my surprise,
it looks like there's an awesome waterfall down there
deep in that little valley.
So I'm kind of scoping it out,
trying to figure out if there's a safe way
I can shimmy down.
It looks like there's like a gradual transition.
So getting down, I'm not too worried about,
it's getting back up.
I'm not gonna go down if I'm not certain
I can get back up though.
So a little unexpected adventure today.
So cool, man.
I'm excited, pumped.
So I saw a couple of footprints on my way down.
So at least one other person has been down here recently.
I wonder if they stumbled across this waterfall
the same way I did.
Literally just pulled over to look at some trees and rocks
and heard the water running and it's kind of a,
I mean, there's moving water in this creek here,
but it's not like a gigantic flow or anything,
but you can tell the high waterline at one point,
it was pretty high flow here.
Oh, look at that.
Yeah.
Man, what an awesome find.
Like I was already digging this little drive,
kind of have a busy day today, this morning.
And then tonight I got stuff going on,
but I just wanted to get out of the city
and drive over here.
So random, so random that I found this.
It was looking like it was gonna be a really short video
because the first step I took down that slope,
I was trying to film and hold my phone and drop my phone.
And I thought it slid down the mountain
and I thought I lost it for good,
but luckily it was only like four feet down.
Man, I'm super grateful I found this.
People always ask me, how do I find these amazing places?
I think that, you know, I can tell you what I do
when I, to actively find stuff,
which is scour the satellite imagery on Google Maps
and Google Earth and read a lot of blogs and,
but something like this, I mean,
it's really just being aware in the present moment,
appreciating the natural beauty around you.
Like I stopped to look at some trees
because they just look like, wow,
those trees just seem a little out of place, you know?
And then I saw they were kind of like on an island
with like a rock formation below it.
And I was like, wow, that's pretty, looks pretty cool.
So I just stopped to take that in, heard rushing water
and like out of the, like around the bend
of that island of trees,
I could see some whitewater splashing down
and I can see that it was a high one.
So this is probably 20, maybe 40, 50 feet high.
Pretty awesome, actually.
I might have to come back and repel this.
If I can find an approach to the top.
Wow, this is, I mean, look at this, it's crazy.
I can't believe that, I don't know.
I don't know how I found it.
I mean, luck of the draw, really.
Grace, an oasis for sure.
So I'm gonna hike a little more around here
and go up to the side and maybe keep driving down the road.
Maybe there's other stuff by the side of the road
that who knows what I'm gonna find today.
I don't know.
And as always, adventuring like this does carry hazards.
You know, just a little, little scrape.
My ass is totally muddy because I slipped.
And luckily I went ass first into a mud puddle
in that Creek right there.
My sweatshirt is all muddy.
My shoes don't have the best grip for this type of hiking,
but, you know, a couple of scrapes
and being muddy is totally worth it.
I was just gonna see if I can go up here,
but I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep trying.
Wow, this is amazing.
So this like root, tree root has these tiny little,
it looks like poison oak buds starting to sprout up.
Check this out.
Let's see if I can get through some of this.
Cause right now, this is all the only protection I got.
Is this sweatshirt.
Keep the sunglasses on so it doesn't,
I don't take a branch in the eyeball.
Cause that would not feel good.
This is bushwhacking for you.
That's how you whack a bush.
Let's go juggernaut style through it.
I do have water in the car though.
That's cool.
Wasn't expecting to be outside this long.
Yeah, totally dry.
All the water in the Creek's coming from that.
It's gotta be spring fed, I would imagine.
Let's take a quick break
before I have to go for that climb out.
In terms of where exactly this is,
I'm sure some of you are like, dude, where is this?
You're gonna hit me up in the comments.
You're probably not even gonna watch the whole video.
Where is this?
Guess what guys?
I've given you enough clues where if you're astute
and adventurous enough,
you should be able to find this yourself.
I'm keeping this one, the exact coordinates for me
because I can.
And that's the benefit of getting out there
and finding your adventure.
You get to make the decision if you want to share it,
if you want to keep it to yourself,
just bring a couple of friends along.
But given the proximity to Tujunga,
you know, a lot of graffiti and a lot of garbage
and a lot of destruction of nature
takes place in Tujunga, unfortunately.
I'm gonna keep this one to myself, man.
Slow going.
I'm more than halfway there though, so.
When it's really slippery and loose like this,
you really just gotta take your time.
No shade.
Victory.
Oh no, where's my keys?
Just kidding.
All right, well.
