This piece is set in the majestic Himalayas, where Tibetans make their home, and women traditionally dress in patterned skirts and colorful beads that reflect the landscape of the steppes. In this energetic dance with fast-paced footwork, their long white sleeves symbolize the khata scarf. The khata is offered as a sign of hospitality and deep veneration, and it is now offered skywards, in celebration of the divine.
