Hey guys, it's Angel.
Today I'm super excited because I'm gonna show you
how to make a Chinese herbal tea recipe
using chrysanthemum flowers and goji berries.
Since we're using flowers and berries,
this is going to be a caffeine-free tea
and the goji berries, which are oftentimes used
in traditional Chinese medicine.
Those are known for their antioxidants
and also for their immunity-boosting properties.
Now, this video is sponsored by iHerb,
where I ordered some of the ingredients,
and one of the things I got
was this snack-grade bag of goji berries.
And I've never seen the snack-grade ones before.
They're actually softer than regular goji berries
that I buy at the Asian grocery store.
But these ones, they have the consistency
of raisins and cranberries, so they're a bit soft.
And these are gonna be great in this tea.
So I'm gonna go ahead and I've got
about one tablespoon of goji berries.
I'm just gonna put that into the glass teapot.
The next ingredient are dry chrysanthemum flowers.
And chrysanthemum flowers are known
in traditional Chinese medicine for cooling the body.
So if you have a lot of internal heat,
this will definitely help cool your body.
And I'm going to go ahead and just use
about one tablespoon of dried chrysanthemum flowers.
And totally optional, but highly recommended,
is a little bit of sweetener.
Now, you can use rock sugar, or you can get dried.
This is called longyuan,
and it's basically like a cousin to lychee.
So if you guys like lychees,
this is definitely something that's really good and tasty.
I'm gonna use about six to eight pieces
of longyuan in this tea,
and that'll make it a little bit sweet.
Again, I got these from iHerb,
so definitely check them out.
Now, if you want to skip the longyuan,
you can go ahead and do that.
The goji berries themselves
have a little bit of sweetness to it,
so your tea will still be a little bit sweet
if you don't add any sweetener.
And if you guys are interested in any of these products,
I'll post a link in the video description,
where you can get 10% off your first order at iHerb.
After you get all the ingredients in there,
I'm gonna add two cups of boiling water to the teapot.
And I like to put it on a tea warmer
so it can slowly brew for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes,
the chrysanthemum flowers should be fully bloomed,
and the tea will be infused with the goji berries.
So I'm just gonna pour one for me,
and of course, one for you.
Mm, it's really light tasting.
Chrysanthemum flowers is really light,
but it's very fragrant,
and there's a little bit of sweetness
from the goji berries.
Very good, and I think this would pair really well
with some matcha madeleines that I'm making
in my next video, so definitely check that one out.
I'm Angel, I hope you guys enjoyed
this Chinese herbal tea recipe,
and if you guys wanna see a mini unboxing
of the other items that I got in my iHerb order,
I will show you at the end of this video.
Thank you guys so much for watching.
I love you, I hope you guys are doing well,
and I will see you guys soon.
Bye.
So like I said, there's a mini unboxing
of the other items that I got from iHerb.
The first one are dried ginseng root.
Now, this is gonna be great for soups,
so I will show you in a future video.
What else did I get?
I also got these Made in Nature Fruit Fusion
Super Berry Blast Super Snacks.
So these are dried organic fruits and seeds,
including goji berries in there,
and they have cranberries, blueberries, and tart cherries.
So definitely a good one that you can pop
in your bag for snacks.
The last thing I got here from iHerb
are crystallized ginger.
Now, I think this would be great in tea,
but also for snacking, so that's why I got this.
I haven't tried it before, so actually,
let me just go ahead and do the taste test.
Ooh, that's really gingery.
Here we go.
If you love ginger, you guys are gonna like this.
It's a little bit spicy.
Definitely, I think it would be great
if you added hot water in one or two cubes.
It would make for a great ginger tea.
So that is it, mini unboxing.
