Highlights: Real Madrid - Manchester United | Friendly Match 2023

This is an elite friendly, a major step on the road to the new season. Less than three weeks away now, the new campaign and what a way to build up to it with a fixture like this. Bellingham makes the run from deep. Bellingham goes for the chip. That is sublime from Jude Bellingham. Just five minutes into this game, a terrific run. He beat the offside trap and the finish magnificent. Real Madrid lead early on in Houston. Away by Alaba. And then Casemiro. Spot short. In space. Towards a mount. Oh what a shame. Straight at the keeper. Had an opportunity for him. Snapshot. And well, Lunen grateful to get hold of that. And recycle it again. Real Madrid with Vinicius. Up against Wan-Bissaka. Vinicius. Vinicius! That's a top save from Onana. It was a snapshot heading for that far corner. And Andre Onana makes a terrific stop. Luke Shaw. And he fires it out to Garnaccio again. They want to keep getting it to Garnaccio. He's got the goal himself! And pushed away by Lunen. And that was moving absolutely viciously. And the teenager showing his quality. Showing his threat. Lunen makes the save. Yeah, good strike. Nobody really came to close him down. Was that a foul on Hoselu? Went down, nothing doing. McTominay striding forward. Great run by the Scotsman. Still going. Brilliant work! Oh, that's a good save from the goalkeeper. But, either side. And that would have been an equaliser. What a great, powerful run by Scott McTominay. Yeah, it was. The rise of a bright start. For these United players in the second half. But now, the game could be a bit stretched. Manor over at that far post. Oh, it's a really dangerous ball across. Hoselu is there. And Hoselu cannot turn it home. Brahim Diaz on the left-hand side. Across to Hoselu on the right. The goal was gaping. Williams. A lovely ball through to Palistri. Keeper thought about coming. He's gone back now. Palistri. Finds Brandon Williams. Williams stands the ball up. But, Bruno Fernandes this time. Goes for goal himself. It's a big save. A big save from Lunen. Down low to his left-hand side. United coming so close to an equaliser. Certainly nothing wrong with the effort, the energy or the application of Manchester United. Hoselu waits in the centre. Brahim Diaz. Kroos. Vázquez. The overhead is magnificent. It is fantastic. And look at the bench. Well, you can't say anything, can you? I mean, it's brilliant execution. I mean, he had a header that went into the side netting earlier. Hoselu. But that is an absolutely brilliant finish. Brandon Williams gets caught in no-man's land underneath the ball. And as he turns around to see Hoselu executing that. And nothing Onana can do either. United beaten by two goals to nil.
