Highlights: Bayern Munich - Monaco | Friendly Match 2023

Hello and welcome to the dress rehearsal for this 2023-24 season. FC Bayern will be receiving Monaco in Unterhaching today as Thomas Tuchel gets a final chance to test out some of his players and get the team ready for the season which all kicks off on Saturday. Mazraoui coming up the pitch, great long ball for him towards the left-hand side into Serge Gnabry, goes for goal and within the first minute already a big challenge for Philipp Kuhn. We're certainly looking more towards the centre, Goretzka certainly one of the targets ball comes in extended by Matisse Tell but now on the opposite side and it will be a goal kick for Monaco. Bayern now back in possession towards the left-hand side, Davies on the far side able to beat his opposite number and now down the left-hand side he goes gets the ball towards Goretzka in towards the centre just outside the penalty box now into Jamal Musiala actually Gnabry gets a shot off and the first time that Philipp Kuhn actually has to come out right now Monaco coming forward an option maybe even to go for goal has been all like his challenge by the captain however another chance in the build-up camera just about missing out it was actually Fofana that put the shot on but he was well wide as well so no challenge for Sven Ulreich there short and in the end a big mistake here Sven Ulreich holding on however the ball still hot as Monaco only now losing possession and it's always dangerous when you play short diagonal passes with too little power to actually reach your fellow player another chance here for Monaco they do go one nil up and it has certainly been coming their way Minamino to score and sort of coming out of left field after I just said that it wasn't working so hot for them two big chances one time Sven Ulreich can hold on to it the other just not doable Musiala on the rather long hunt doesn't work out for him just yet does get an interception in now Goretzka wins it back again in midfield he's still down the ground however Leimer into Musiala back to Leimer needs to stop that ball needs to get that shot off and he scores to bring it back level just two minutes later and the build-up looks strong and Philipp Kuhn left wondering what just happened right in front of him Konrad Leimer stumbling a little but getting that shot off and getting it into the top shelf of the goal Kingsley Coman now on the left hand side does have support right next to him with Musiala does find Davies now it's Musiala inside the box goes dancing Bambi scores finds the back of the net and exactly what we want to see I think he hurt his shin a little bit but I think it should have gone to the pads and Bayern now up to one before the break and that's exactly the response we wanted to see and still Bayern in this forward motion one minute still to go in regular time Jamal Musiala again trying to dance his way through into Coman now back to Musiala off the crossbar as it's Philipp Kuhn to navigate it stays inside of the pitch and Bayern are able to continue once more it will be Goretzka to take it and just about punched over by Philipp Kuhn claps there by Goretzka and the fans loving that as well what a beautiful save and handball called that wasn't a clap that was Goretzka saying no it was not entirely natural movement from his arm and certainly not how the hand rule is set up to be now so Philipp Kuhn in goal up against Serge Gnabry stepping up and scores bottom left-hand corner Philipp Kuhn was guessing in the right corner but not able to hold on to that one Bayern up 3-1 here going in to the break good job as Konrad Leimer was brought down to the ground Bayern do get the advantage coming their way though Tell in to Serge Gnabry over towards the right-hand side into Leroy Sané dropped to Matisse Tell shot on goal deflected hits the back post Bayern still in this as Serge Gnabry gets it towards the center he's dispossessed as he's challenged by two players certainly a little bit more relaxed in that first half especially after his team were up 1-0 right now Ben Yedder coming forward into Minamino but a big save again by Sven Ulreich makes himself big gets that stretch in Monaco coming forward big chance and actually Minamino going down in the area after a foul I think it was Masraoui after all a little bit of delay on the penalty kick but Monaco will score and it will be the captain himself Ben Yedder to beat Sven Ulreich sends him the wrong way Tell now into Kingsley Coman could be on for another goal here for Bayern gives it to Sané lets it bounce once and I'm pretty sure it's deflected but it is a fourth Bayern goal here tonight 69th minute and Bayern again having a little bit of a buffer Kingsley Coman the build-up starting off strong Kingsley Coman long ball over to the opposite side switches sides to Leroy Sané just on the elbow of the area now sends it into Goretzka screamer but not quite Bayern coming forward now with Leroy Sané edge of the area continues on now towards the inside shot from distance and it's the crossbar and that's going to be ringing for a while longer final whistle has been blown it was a matter of time for two our final scoreline here for the dress rehearsal before our super cup game against Leipzig on Saturday
