The Portuguese word for church is Igreja. Keep watching. In today's video, I'm going to be visiting the Cathedral in Brasília. This is one of the most visited buildings in Brasília. The Cathedral of Brasília is a Roman Catholic cathedral, acts as the seat of the Archdiocese of Brasília. Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. It is your girl Mills. I'm back with another video. I'm at the Cathedral, okay. It was designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. It's constructed from 16 concrete columns weighing 90 tons each. In front of it, it has a 4, 3 meters tall sculpture representing the four evangelists. It has a 20 meters tall bell tower containing four large bells. It has a 12 meters wide, 40 centimeters deep reflecting pool which surrounds the cathedral roof, helping to cool the cathedral. This is one of the most beautiful places in Brasília, right? So, I'm going to take you around. As you can see, that's the cathedral behind there. And you can see, okay. This is beautiful. The inside part of the cathedral, when you look at the roof, you see many different colors. It's made out of ceramic glasses with different colors, white, blue.
