When I'm feeling weak, you're my energy.
And when I'm all alone, you keep me company.
To my darkness, you're a shining light. You're the reason.
Just checked in at Park Hyatt Niseko. It was a long two-hour car ride, but finally here.
Right now it's a bit gloomy and cloudy, so I'll probably show you the rooms from morning instead.
We're here in Hokkaido for eight days in total. We're splitting it between Niseko and Sapporo,
so we're going to be spending it here at the Park Hyatt in the first half,
and the last half we'll be heading to Sapporo to see
Thar Fields and to check out the city itself. We're also super excited to be here in Hokkaido
because we know there's like amazing milk, ice cream, crabs, sea urchin, and just food.
I'm so ready to go grocery shopping. Anyways, we're just super hungry from the car ride,
so we're going to order some room service and then just chill for the rest of the night.
In Room Dining here is on their app. We're going to try some of their Hokkaido specialties.
I spotted a Hokkaido soup curry that I want to try. Here we have the miso ramen, chicken karaage,
seafood chowder, the Hokkaido soup curry with rice, filet of salmon, and fries.
I wasn't expecting latte art at our breakfast buffet.
Unfortunately, it is raining here in Hokkaido, so I'm just going to give you a quick room tour
until the clouds clear up and we can take the cable car. All right, let's go.
We're staying in the one king bedroom mountain view. Over at the entrance, we have a full
three-piece bathroom complete with shower, toilet, and sink. On the right-hand side,
we have a small kitchenette and dining room. We also have a mini fridge in green,
and it's got a few snacks and drinks. Next to the dining room, we have a very cozy and spacious
living room. What Vic loves about the design of this hotel is that all the plugs come with electric
and USB, very easily accessible. Also, when we were watching Succession last night,
there is an HDMI plug right here, so we can just plug in our laptops to stream.
Separating the living room from the bedroom is this steel and glass wall. As we enter,
we have a very spacious king bed. The bedroom also has its own master bathroom, double sink,
and this gorgeous shower and bathtub situation. On the left side of the master bathroom is a huge
walk-in closet. Let me just switch the lights on. It's great for if you go skiing and have tons of
equipment. At the very end, we have a lovely toto toilet. Even though we still can't see the
mountain, it is getting a little brighter, so we're gonna quickly head out and check out the
forest area. We just finished the tree trek, so we're heading back to the gondola to take it up
the ski slope. Breakfast is served! Today, we've ordered the Pierre Hermé breakfast, which is the
western one, and also the Mount Yotei breakfast, which is the Japanese set.
We bought a little park over here, so we're just gonna stop here and have a picnic lunch.
Let's do a little picnic unboxing!
You and me, we was thicker than blood, but the sky got inside of me.
Baby, gonna be so lonely when I'm gone. But it isn't true, I was just as lonely, I guess it always will be.
Good seeing you! Hello! Do we park in here? Yes, yes, yes. Okay.
It would be so small, so we didn't consolidate our stuff
to put in the car to make an extra seat. We got it, guys!
We just checked into the Hoshino Resorts, and I totally forgot what I had booked because apparently
what I got was three single beds. We are here in Tamamu for one reason only, and that is to
see the Ankai Terrace. Ankai Terrace is known for a sea of clouds very early in the morning. It only
exists, I think, from the summer to late summer. Hopefully we'll get to see it tomorrow morning,
but there's no guarantee. The terrace is located right next to Hoshino, which is why we're here.
Since we have to wake up early, we can just roll out of bed and then go up there.
It's 4 10 and people are queuing up already for the first bus at 4 25. This coupon, which I guess means
we're number 24 in line to get on the gondola.
These are the things we wanted to see, but didn't see any of them.
It's 7 a.m. We're done with the Ankai Terrace and breakfast, so I'm back in PJs.
I'm gonna take a nap before we drive back to see the flower farms,
Kanodo Park, Farm Tamina, Melon House, and then Sapporo.
Good soup.
People are willing to queue for ice cream here.
We made it just in time when they open. There's already a queue, but hopefully we can get in the
first round of seating. High quality trowel cubes in really nice colors. They're also
wearing a thick-ass t-shirt.
Now for the main event, which is Vic's favorite store.
What a day. We just came back to hotel room to drop our stuff off, and now we're going to go
back out to another few vintage shops, and then I just want to get a night parfait at 6 p.m.
So we're going to do dessert first and then dinner.
Sapporo is known for the night parfait, so I just had to try it.
And now it's time for some crab ramen.
No, it's closed today, and then Google Maps didn't say.
It's our last night in Japan, so we're celebrating with some ice cream from Hokkaido.
Apparently these are all made in Hokkaido, so we had to try it before we go.
Squiggly swirl of joy.
Whoa, whoa, I wasn't expecting that.
The cream is very fluffy. I thought it'd be very dense and icy, but it's very milky and fluffy.
A bit better than McDonald's.
Only a bit better?
Costco.
Yeah, Costco ice cream.
Yes, yes, yes.
It's our last day here.
We put all our suitcases in Sapporo Station in the locker,
so we're hands-free, ready to do a bit of grocery shopping.
Today is Kraft butter and melon.
Their unsalted butter packaging is so cute.
All right, one down.
We got some of the items, but now we have to head over to the airport
where we're going to do a little more food shopping.
Just finished checking in, so now we're heading back to the domestic departures.
That's where all the good stuff is if you're looking for good souvenirs,
if your country allows bringing in fresh seafood and fruit.
Hi guys, we got back from Hokkaido just yesterday,
and I'm quickly going to do this shopping haul
because we have a lot of time-sensitive products here.
Hokkaido is known for their dairy, their produce, and their seafood,
and the best thing about living in Hong Kong, which is five hours away,
is that we can bring all that back into our city.
And a lot of people can't bring the stuff back,
but I'm just going to run through all the fresh produce first
because I need to pop them back into the fridge
so we can eat it for tonight.
I picked up this cheesecake at the airport.
It is by the brand Latao.
They are famous for being the creators of the double fromage cheesecake
because it's summertime.
They have this limited edition of Hokkaido melon,
and we plan to eat it tonight with my family.
My parents can't eat too much dessert
because they're looking out for their sugar levels,
so I ended up buying them two cobs of corn.
One is the white one and the traditional yellow.
I thought they can steam it and have it very fresh.
A box of cherries.
I've been eating a lot of cherries when we were in Hokkaido.
The flesh of the cherries are more light in color,
and the flesh is a lot softer than the ones in the States.
Recently, we saw this dessert souvenir go viral on Instagram.
They're essentially like, I guess, cheesecake panna cotta balls
where you poke this rubber part and the dessert plops out,
and it comes with a specific sauce to pair with it.
For me, butter makes the world go round,
and I couldn't leave Hokkaido without buying some butter.
These brands were recommended to me by our Japanese friend,
so I got many tins so I can gift these to my friends.
If you're a seafood lover, you should definitely check out Hokkaido
because they're known for their snow crab, king crab, hairy crab,
and you can get tons of crab products at their airport.
They also package everything very nicely for you
because they know you're gonna board a flight with their products.
Oh, they even put ice pack in here.
In this one shop, we got these crab pieces.
One is the snow crab, one is the king crab.
Originally, I wanted to buy a whole crab to bring back,
but I thought I don't know how to even open a crab by myself,
so we went the modest route,
and I just got these crab chunks that we can have on our salads or our eggs.
You can get crabs in different forms and packages at the airport.
For example, you can get the entire thing deshelled or just the legs.
This one I got is the snow crab legs.
And last but not least is my crown jewel, which is this yubari melon.
The lady at the airport gave me this pamphlet
and it shows you the different stages of ripeness for this cantaloupe.
It was one that was slightly unripe
so that within one to two days, it would be ready to eat.
This is my Chanel unboxing of 2023.
As a kid, I never understood why my parents would love going to Japan
and haul back things like crab,
but as I got older, now I understand the hype about,
you know, grocery shopping in Japan.
Okay, after that, we are going to move on to sweets and candy.
Minsha is a popular Japanese mint brand
that you can buy at any of the convenience stores.
While we were on our road trip, we stopped by a Seiko Mart,
which is a Hokkaido local chain.
I found this flavor, which is the caramel pudding
and the melon soda.
I haven't seen these at any other stores before
and I'm glad I got these for my friends
because they actually don't sell this at Family Mart or Lawson.
These are cookies from Sapporo Agricultural College.
They use Hokkaido milk and I just like the packaging.
Two cans of chocolate beverages.
This is from the brand Isshia.
They're known for their cookies,
but they also produce these drinks limited in Hokkaido.
Next up are these sandwich cookies by the brand Rokkatei.
They're known for these Marseille butter cookies,
which are these sandwich cookies
filled with buttercream and raisin.
For friends who don't like that much sugar,
I also bought this version, which is without the cream.
So it's just the biscuit.
Next up is coffee.
You know, we just had to get coffee in Japan.
This bag of beans is from the brand Mermaid Coffee Roastery.
This cafe is located very close to our hotel
and Vic one day was wandering around
while we were waiting to get sushi
and he chanced upon it and he really loved this cafe.
You can't go to Japan and not go to their dollar stores,
which is Daiso and Three Coins.
So I'm going to show you all the random home goods we got there.
We've been looking for a tool to wash our thermoses and our cups
and it's good for things like kettles or Vic's thermos
where you have to reach all the way in
and this one can do the job.
Last trip, we got a broom in Tokyo.
This trip, we got a dustpan to match it.
This is a silicone ice tray from Three Coins.
The color's just nice.
Nothing special about it,
but we just got it while we were in Japan.
Vic has also been looking for some fabric spray
because we host people
and he just likes to deodorize things after hosting.
So we got these from Daiso
and they smell like a Japan home.
Guys, have come to Hong Kong,
you know one thing you have to carry is a packet of tissues
because a lot of restaurants will charge you for using their napkins
and I got this one at Daiso.
I like this one because it's completely minimalistic.
Obsessed with packing cues
because I think it makes it a lot easier for me to organize when we're on the go
and I got these three cream ones from Three Coins.
This item from our Daiso haul are these noodle toppings.
This one is a corn and seaweed flavor
and I got these for our friend's kids
because they're obsessed with Pokemon.
And on that note, we did go to the Pokemon store
which is at the Daimaru.
I know nothing about Pokemon
but apparently these are legendary slash strong characters
within the Pokemon world.
So I have three kids to buy for.
I also got them two packs of into the Misakushi department store
and I ended up getting a few concealers that I've been using
which is the Forever Skin Corrector.
The reason why I got it there is that you can get the tax back which is 10%
but then also if you apply for the membership card,
you get an additional 5% off.
So that's 15%.
Close out this vlog, we have some clothing items.
The first up is this brand called Top of the Hill.
This is located in Parko, the department store.
They sell new and used items.
He likes it because you have these stripes.
It's a very thick stiff material
and he is obsessed with the color green.
I was looking through the selection of vintage tees at Top of the Hill
and the first one I laid my eyes on was the one I ended up buying.
It's in incredible condition and it's still vintage
but there are no stains on it
and I just like these colors and it looks very new.
T-shirt is from another vintage chain brand called Jam.
I love vintage tees even though they cost the same
as like a new one at a fast fashion brand
but they last forever because the quality is a lot better.
I found this one on my way out and it's from the Chicago host office.
I just like these colors.
As you guys know, this vintage blue white combo is very trending right now.
Next up is from the brand Beams, Vic's favorite store
and they have one outlet in Hokkaido.
Got another summer dress shirt.
Why does he like it?
I don't know because it looks like all his other dress shirts.
Boxy short sleeve, blue and white stripes.
You guys couldn't go ask him but this is from Beams.
And that's a wrap for our Hokkaido shopping haul.
Hope you guys enjoyed this and we'll see you in our next vlog.
Bye!
