Hello, this is Doug the Too Mini Gardener. Today we're going to talk about succulents
and container gardens. So whenever a client wants to put together some nice pots for a patio,
I always recommend succulents because succulents require so little water and so little maintenance
and they're very very colorful. I mean check out all the colors of all these little succulents.
Now the key thing with doing a succulent container garden is you have to make sure to pick small
succulents. Too many times I've seen people put a succulent that was so cute in the nursery and
the thing is five feet tall and five feet wide and breaking the pot about four or five years
later. So you want to pick little guys or if you pick something that gets bigger just recognize
you're gonna have to yank it out of there in a year and plant it somewhere in the ground. So
I'm gonna talk about 20 great succulents that I like to recommend for these kind of containers
but first we're going to go over really quickly basic succulent container planting 101. First of
all I always tell clients pick the pots that you love. Now you want to have some pots that are at
least 10 inches in diameter and once you pick that pot then you want to pick succulents to have color
that complements that pot. Make sure to put some rocks in the bottom, some good draining soil
and then just go to it start putting those in. So here we go let's look at 20 great succulents
for a container garden. There's a list of all 20 of these succulents in the video description.
There's also links in the comment section on where you can buy some of these succulents
and have them shipped right to your door so make sure to check that out. Finally if you enjoyed
