Okay, so we are crazy. This is what we have to do to stop going about at midnight.
So, aww baby. Come here baby. Come here. What happened?
Oh my goodness. So, it's just after five in the morning. We went to bed very, very late
because the kids did. And we decided just before bed that we weren't going to get
up early to go for a hike because it was just too crazy. But then I woke everyone
up and so now we're going to go for a hike. Let's do it. We doing it? Yep. We doing it.
Okay. We just got to the trailhead but the sun's rising over Queenstown and I have to
show you. Wow. You see that baby? Okay, I've got Aya here. You going to go to sleep baby?
Aya might be asleep already. Are we crazy? We're taking no snacks. Yeah, we are crazy.
We've got both the kids in the carriers. Chris got us coffees and what's the time?
I doubt it's six o'clock yet. It's quite cold. We've got Queenstown here and we're
hiking up there. I feel good about it. I'm excited. Oh, you're awake. You want to say
hello? Okay, see yous up there. I love you. Okay, my hands are very cold with the camera.
I love our home. So it says it's one and a half to two and a half hours return. Oh, look
at that. Oh, every time Chris gets a hiking stick and someone's left one for him. Goodness
me. Let's go Aya. Some amazing views already. He's asleep because I'm exhausted already.
Aya, you are getting... Have you even heard of that carrier?
There's hot pools close to here. We're going to go to them. Sounds good. Morning Aya.
Morning.
Whoa.
Aya's just having a feed. It got really cold. Aya and Chris are about to start heading down,
but we made it. I'm so glad we came up here. What? Wow.
Aya are back there somewhere. This little guy has been sound asleep the whole way down
and that was amazing. I'm so, so stoked we did that. Never regret going for a hike, don't
you think? Well, don't hold me to that. Time for some food and water. Hopefully Chris and
Aya are going to be here soon. And there's our Kiwi home. Gosh, traveling with a home
on wheels is the best.
Alright, sitting down is so good right now. Aya is asleep and Chris and Aya aren't quite
back yet, so I just want to take a moment now to have a quick chat. Recently I was reviewing
my goals or focuses for the year. I had three main ones. The first one was about trusting
myself and my intuition. The second one was about commitment to learning. I see my kids
learning so much all day, every day, and I feel like I stopped doing that and I want
to challenge myself again. And the third one was about productivity and following through
and getting things done because I feel like I have so many ideas and opportunities and
I want to do so much, but then the days go and the years go and I don't create stuff,
like I don't follow through. So I took a class called Simple Productivity, how to do more
with less by a guy called Greg McKeown. So I chose this class after reading the little
blurb thing. Let me read it to you. It says, you'll think about productivity in a whole
new way. Instead of feeling the pressure to fit more in, you'll find yourself evaluating
the worth of new tasks, commitments, and goals from the start, giving you the power to curate
a fulfilling, balanced life. I was like, okay, sign me up. And I learned so much in it. The
concepts of essentialism, the art of the slow yes, and also tools to help you focus when
you're going from different environments, like I am traveling. I found it really interesting.
So if you wanted to check that class out, Skillshare are sponsoring this video and offering
the first 500 people to use the link in my description, two months of free premium membership.
And then after that, it's about $10 per month, which is such an affordable price, especially
when you compare it to so many online courses. Skillshare classes are designed for real life
so that you can learn and grow with short classes for busy lifestyles. So you can check
out the class I was talking about, or you could find a class that helps you achieve
your own goals for the year. But I highly recommend, and now I have no excuse to not
be productive. Forever in the slow lane. So I don't know how well our plan of waking up
early has gone because I feel like I've just been asleep all morning. We are at a new spot
now. On the same lake you would have seen in our hike. So the same lake you would have
seen in our hike, but around the corner sort of thing. Apparently it's super beautiful
and we might go for a swim. And apparently it's very, very cold. I'll take you down there
and I'm going to show you. And I need to do a poopie. Oh, is he waking? Oh, mister.
You need some milk. So I've put my swimmers on. I don't know who I'm kidding because I'm
a wimp and I think the water's going to be freezing, but I'm going to try. I'm going
to try to tell myself I'm going to go in. I'm going to go in, Chris.
The clouds have parted and the sun feels really warm right now. Aya's got her swimmers on.
Oh, sorry, Poppy's got her swimmers on. And we've got towels, so let us see. You look
like you're ready for a swim. We're all going in. No, Aya's not. That's going to be too
cold. But it's a 20 minute walk. I'm sure everyone watching agrees with our plan that
we have a super active day. We're up early. Everyone's going to sleep early, right? That's
how it works, right? Well, so far, energy is at an all time high. Wow. This water is
so clear. Wow. Run and go straight in. I think that's the best way. Because Aya just
touched it and said she wasn't going in. Are you going in, Aya? So beautiful. That wake
you up? Even much less dramatic than me, babe. I said it was too cold for Aya and he just
ran straight in without a concern in the world. He's so happy. All right, Chris has
found another stick. Look at this. It's not getting much better than this. I'm proud of
myself for going for a swim. Yeah. I know she did. All right, we are nearly going to
head off from here and go find our camp spot for the night. We're going to try to free
camp in one of the sites. We've downloaded a couple of apps. So hopefully we find somewhere.
I'm sure we will. Yeah, we will. All right. We need to go. I hope you enjoyed one of our
first videos back now for quite a while. Is it good to be back? Yeah, it's good to be
back. And I'm excited to have these videos of our trips. I have a feeling New Zealand
this month is just going to be insanely amazing. Yeah, I already have a feeling that we're
going to find our home here. Yeah, Chris is like, I want to live here. It is summer though.
And it's winter-ish. I hope you enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for watching and
sending love from New Zealand. You want to say goodbye, Aya? Goodbye. I hope you can
see that person running there, but it's Chris. And he just went to town and he was going
to see if there's any chance we could get on a last minute helicopter flight to Milford
Sound. And he's running back. He never runs. Like we're about to miss a flight. He does
not run. So I'm very curious. Are you about to get on a helicopter? What's happening?
4.30. Are you kidding? What's the time? Four. For real? It's like a 40 minute flight and
10 minutes landing on the snow. For real? What do we need? Okay, we've got 27 minutes
and we're leaving on a helicopter. I've never been, have you been on a helicopter? Never.
All right. I've got to sleep in Chad. This is spontaneous, babe. This is a good call.
I'm excited. We've got no camera batteries. My phone's dead. Chris's phone's dead. Hopefully
this lasts a bit and maybe the GoPro. Let's do it. That's going to be us in a second.
Like, actually six minutes, not a second.
I had to sleep a bit earlier. Oh, babies.
