Many people are amazed by William's handsome hairstyle; how does he maintain it so well? Even after removing his performance headwear, it still looks neat and tidy... What's the secret that keeps him in top condition?
So, what's in the principal male dancer's bag?
Shen Yun Performing Arts tours various places throughout the year, and everyone has their own unique "must-have list." Today, Shen Yun male principal dancer William Li will share 7 essential items with everyone-from hairstyles, skin firming, and life hacks to weight loss secrets, all shared with you!
Hello, my name is William Lee, and I'm a dancer with Shin Yun Performing Arts.
And I've been with the company since 2007.
Here are 7 items that I can't live without.
This is a Mophie charger.
You got this nice velvet case,
and inside, this is what you have.
A charging brick, cables, and this.
Once you set it up, you can charge your AirPods,
your iPhone, and your watch all at once.
So I actually got this from a friend, Felix.
Thank you very much for a Christmas present.
No, it was a birthday present that came late,
so it was almost Christmas.
Alcohol wipes.
All right, this vlog looks kind of ghetto.
I do travel with a few hundred alcohol wipes in my luggage.
Do you know how dirty your phone is at the end of the day?
You know, after I shower, the phone also needs a shower.
Give it a good clean.
While we're dancing and stretching,
we're always on the floor,
so my phone is always on the floor.
That's why I gotta clean it, and you're good to go.
But I would recommend you buy bigger wipes than this.
All right?
It's a bit small, it's a bit small.
All right, next, apple cider vinegar gummies.
I'm sure everyone knows that apple cider vinegar
has a lot of health benefits,
especially if you're trying to lose weight.
I was actually trying to lose a little bit of weight
at the beginning of tour,
and I definitely lost a lot of weight,
but I'm not sure if it's because
of the intensive tour schedule or the ACV,
so I mean, I'm still taking it before meals,
but pretty good, pretty tasty as well.
Should I eat one?
I mean, it's more palatable
than actually drinking the vinegar,
which is really strong.
The next item is very interesting.
Jade roller and this jade gua sha stone.
Let me tell you why I bought these in the first place.
I was getting a haircut.
The person giving me the haircut actually told me
that my skin started to not look as good
as when I first started filming Three Musketeers,
so she said, you need to take care of your skin,
and she recommended I use these.
Basically, you use these.
It's called lymphatic, lymphatic nodes?
Lymphatic, it's a lymphatic massage.
I first started with this one,
so what you gotta do is put some lotion on,
and then you would push it against your skin,
and then it would actually make your skin better
because it moves the blood around, all right?
But what's actually a lot easier is this jade roller.
Let me give you a demo right now.
So you start from here,
and you just go down along your neck,
and then you can also do it underneath your eyes,
above your eyes.
You push on your forehead up,
and it's gonna reduce wrinkles and improve your skin.
There are also pink ones,
but I tried to get one that looks
a little bit more masculine.
Next, we have this puffer jacket.
I got this when I was actually out shopping with my mom,
and I wanted a new puffer jacket,
and she got this for me.
It was not that cheap, but the quality is pretty good,
and you see, we actually printed
Shen Yun Performing Arts on here,
so it's like a special limited edition now.
Pretty much every single dancer
in the company has a puffer.
We just came back from tour in Dominican Republic.
When I was packing my bags,
I knew I needed a puffer
because I knew the AC would be blasting indoors
because it's really hot there,
so in those hot countries,
they're always blasting AC.
Puffer jackets are really easy to pack.
You just roll it up, and you know,
this is gonna fit in your bag
and not be much of an issue.
Compresses really well.
Next essential is the a7C.
So this is a Sony camera,
and we actually started out filming Three Musketeers
with a ZV-1.
It's another camera that's a little bit smaller,
but we upgraded to this,
and let me tell you, when we first upgraded,
I actually didn't like this.
I didn't like to work with bulky stuff.
I like to travel light,
but Sam convinced me to, you know, work with this,
and I actually grew really, really fond of it,
and you know what?
This camera's really good,
and on here, we have a pretty big lens,
28 to 75, very versatile,
but when we're actually vlogging for Three Musketeers,
we use this pancake lens.
That's the one that's being used to film me right now.
All right, and the best thing is that
you can see yourself while vlogging.
Last but not least is pomade.
I need it to keep my hair looking good like this,
and one of my teachers always tells me
my hair looks like a wave,
so this is a LAYRITE Deluxe Super Hold Pomade,
and it smells like vanilla.
The best thing about this pomade
is that you just need a little bit,
a dime-sized amount,
rub it into your hands, and put it into your hair,
and it pretty much keeps my hair up all day,
especially during the performance.
After I put on my headpieces and I take it off,
people are always surprised.
My hair is still in the same style,
even after the whole performance,
so this is how I do it.
All right, so those are my seven essentials
that I cannot live without.
If you like that video, let us know below,
and let us know if you wanna see some of the other dancers
or musicians' essentials, or even the MC, conductor.
Where's the pancake lens?
Not here, right?
The pancake was pointing your way.
Oh, okay, okay, that's fine.
I can't really say when I started doing this,
because my hair used to be down,
maybe around my 20s.
Ooh, revealing my age.
Makes me sound really old.
How old am I?
I'm still in my 20s, but not for long.
That's gonna reveal my age for real now.
My Chinese zodiac is the rooster,
so who knows, maybe my hairstyle resembles that,
and pomade helps me with that.
