A beautiful day in Maca, Davao de Oro.
We have prepared for an exciting adventure.
And we are taking you with us.
In the last episode we met our first guest
and shared with him the good and bad moments of life in the Philippines.
Shirley became our friend thanks to our YouTube channel.
And today we will explore Davao de Oro.
Together with her husband Baxi and their daughter Chantal.
We came out here at the roadside observation deck.
Or it's even a bus stop.
And it's so beautiful here.
That's why the river is black.
That's why this river is so brown.
Because it flows from the place where gold is mined.
There it is washed out, washed.
Epics Mining Company is through the river.
We went to this cafe to buy traditional rice cakes and desserts.
Everything looks very appetizing.
We are driving to Punturran.
It's interesting here that all the tricycles are red.
A lot of red on the roads.
We are driving along a provincial road,
drowning in greenery and palms.
What a beautiful sight!
After an hour of extra driving, we got to our destination.
In the municipality of Punturran,
there is a protected landscape of hot springs of Maynit.
They built a small resort here, Tuyozu Mountain Resort.
You can rest in it for your health.
On the way, we got hungry and decided to have lunch first.
The weather is very good for our little picnic.
Families and companies are placed in small pavilions.
Filipinos call them kateshi.
There is a table, benches and, most importantly, a roof,
which protects from rain and scorching sun.
Oh, durian. Is it from your farm?
It's from our friend.
This is fresh, but this is flavored.
But this is plain.
No mix.
No chocolate, no sugar.
But both are from cow's milk.
But this one is flavored.
This one is plain.
I tell Darlene that Chantal...
Hi!
Yeah, nice to meet you.
And you look like Moana.
She's shy.
I'm shy.
Don't be shy.
She doesn't like her hair because it's curly.
But somebody told us that she looks beautiful in her hair being curly.
Many Russian girls go to salons,
especially to make curly hair.
Oh, really?
But it's different from us.
And they go to salaries to make their hair darker.
Because white people want to be darker.
It's the opposite of us, Darlene.
This is lumpia.
Oh, lumpia.
And this is banana blossom.
We call it patty.
Rice.
A mountain of rice.
We cannot live without rice.
Okay, we eat now?
Rice is life.
To the Filipinos.
There are many pools with warm water on the resort's territory.
According to the locals, the water is very healing.
It relaxes you.
The pain in the body and muscles disappear.
The circulation of blood improves.
We came to the cave and looked inside.
It's a Filipino bath.
It turns out that despite the fact that it's always summer on the tropical islands,
the Filipinos are also not afraid to take a bath in the sauna.
A steam stream flows in the center of the cave,
and benches are located on the sides.
People warm up here, get rid of toxins,
and then go to warm pools.
Filipino sauna.
There are public pools and private ones,
which you can rent for your company.
Here they are, hot springs.
When you are here, it's very hot.
And despite the fact that the weather in the Philippines is very hot,
you can see the steam rising.
It's like boiling water.
It's already very hot.
My hand can't stand it.
When you are outside, it feels like you are in a sauna.
There is probably a volcano under us.
Someone is already cooking eggs here.
Free of charge.
You don't have to pay for electricity.
I put the eggs in a bag and took them out.
They are ready in 5 minutes.
We just arrived.
I forgot to apply cream.
My hand is already burning.
The skin is already turning red.
People come, relax,
Filipinos with families, large companies here,
swim in different pools.
There are a lot of them here.
Fun, noisy.
Everyone is happy.
Very nice.
Oh, durian.
Korean variety.
Very sweet.
And yummy.
The best I've ever tried in my life.
Durian.
And sweet.
It tastes like garlic.
Wow, this is so sweet.
I feel big.
Yeah, it's the best I've ever tried.
I've never tried like so tasty.
I like it.
Thank you so much.
And family for the durian.
It's very tasty.
Very tasty. Thank you so much.
After relaxing swimming in a warm pool,
we go to the next attraction,
Lake Leonard.
As we climbed up the mountain road,
the wind became colder,
and then it rained.
Tambo is a cozy cafe and observation deck,
located along the Maragusan-Mawab highway.
From here, a magnificent view of Lake Leonard opens up.
Tambo means with a view.
A nice hostess greeted us and said
that this place is closed now,
but we can come in and take a picture.
Lake Leonard is located in the crater of an active volcano.
Crocodiles used to live in it,
so the local residents of the Mansak tribe
called it the crocodile lake.
Later, the Mako municipality named it
in honor of the builder Leonard Knyazev
for his economic contribution.
And here very fresh.
It's 21 degrees.
21?
Yes, it's like winter.
Like here turn on aircon.
The weather is not in our favor today,
but we will definitely come back here again.
We said goodbye to the hostess
and went to one of the most visited places in Mako,
the hot waterfall Belava-Malnyt.
We were driving along the road,
and there was a stonefall here.
Stones fell on the road,
and it looks like we hit a stone,
and it got stuck somewhere at the bottom.
Such rivers flow across the road.
Just a sea of water.
Stones are lying around,
which rolled down the stream,
fell off the mountains.
The concrete road is over,
and we are driving almost along the river.
The weather got worse.
We doubted whether we should go to the waterfall,
but we were already there,
so Baxi and I decided to take a look at them.
This hot spring.
Belava hot spring.
It happened that during our visit
having a heavy rain,
so we cannot see the clear water
because of the heavy rain.
If so, not a heavy rain,
so more good and timely.
Yeah, next time.
Thank you.
And now we are going back home.
Such a heavy rain.
Tropical rain.
Today was a happy day.
We met new friends
and got closer to them.
The hospitality that Filipinos show
is not like anything else.
I can say that my place is here
and that I found my home.
In the next episode.
