Hey, we're J. Joseph.
We're gonna run through a couple of our top tips
for bands starting out touring.
First off, I think that we need to start off
with proper food consumption.
You should definitely have room for two meals,
McDonald's in the morning,
and then much, much later, you have Chipotle.
That's my number one.
You got a tip?
My number one is to pack a Nintendo Switch.
Oh!
Makes the drive much less painful.
Play some Mario, any of the Marios.
Odyssey, 3D World, play some Pokemon.
Play some Breath of the Wild.
Nintendo Switch, for sure Nintendo Switch.
We played Nintendo Switch for 72 hours straight
in a basement, like, while on tour.
I caught a lot of legendary.
He doesn't have a Nintendo Switch, and...
He's miserable.
He's lost a part of himself in the process
of being not entertained.
If you're looking for a drummer,
don't find one named Jack.
There's something like, there's like a stigma
that follows the name Jack.
Yeah, he's really, I don't know what it is.
I didn't make the rules.
You talking about Mr. Off?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, no, no.
Another tip that I've found is that you will be,
we've played four shows, five shows, four shows.
This is our fifth show ever,
and the thing I've learned about being on stage
is don't picture everyone in their underwear,
but in a very real way, like,
pretend like you own the room, even if you don't.
Just vibe out, pretend like you're on your own,
like in the shower singing type deal,
and then people usually pick up on that
and get into it a little bit.
Keep your clothes on, though, for sure.
Yeah.
Huh?
Utilize gas station bathrooms as much as possible.
Mm.
Yes.
Find a, find a good bathroom.
A nice one.
Find a nice one.
Log it, write about it, think about it,
keep it as a memory.
Honestly, though, gas station bathrooms,
speaking of, you can shower at a lot of gas stations
with their truck stops.
You can get a nice, decent shower,
but wear sandals or your feet will fall off
from trucker residue.
Trucker residue.
On the shower floor.
But, yeah, no, you can get a good shower, for sure.
We need that.
Oh, you know what's a good tip that we don't even do?
You get some scents, get like a spray for the truck.
Ooh.
Because we are dog smelling after a shower.
Get some scents.
I'd say, for performing, just focus on your energy.
Don't really worry too much about how well you play,
because you can be a terrible player,
and if your energy is good, you're going to sell the show.
Sell it.
Yeah, you're going to sell it.
Sell it.
