We're at the night market. We're going to be walking north on Hongdao.
During the daytime, this is a road used by motorbikes and cars.
But on the weekend evenings, they close it for pedestrians.
And if you look above, on the second and third floors of the buildings, those are residences.
How do you pronounce that?
This shop sells flip-flops and slippers, selfie sticks, toys, undies and scarves.
This one's from Dolce & Gabbana.
I'm super hungry. We're going to look for some street food.
Ice cream for 5K.
We have mini chairs.
Makeshift restaurant.
Alright, just took a seat.
And this is called bun choy tau.
It's actually quite hot, so I'm going to set it on my thigh.
My thighs are burning now.
There's peanuts in that, which adds a little bit of crunch.
They look like eggs.
However, they are rice balls with mung bean filling.
Medium sweet.
It's very pillowy.
The ginger broth was filled to the top of the bowl, but I drank it all.
The portion may look small, but it is filling.
There's a very fast turnover at that restaurant.
You eat and you go. It's very fast-paced.
I paid 15K for that little bowl.
They have all sorts of skewers.
Oh, here we have ddeokbokki and kimbap.
Skewered meats is a common sight in Southeast Asia.
This lady sells pho.
One of the things I love about the Vietnamese street food scene is they just set up really tiny chairs.
And really short tables.
It's like furniture for kids, but adults sit on it.
Guess what? Obama's restaurant.
They have everything on this street.
They have beer, shisha, cute little kittens, as well as kids.
And donut kebabs.
There's so many places to eat. I don't know where to choose.
Wow, look at that action.
Here people are trying to walk on stilts.
They set up a temporary playground right in the middle of the street.
Here we have a seesaw.
Let's sit on this mini chair.
Some scallions, some chicken.
Actually, I wanted to eat away from the loud music so I could talk and vlog.
But guess what? There's an ice cream stall right next to me and they're making creepy sounds right now.
So much for trying to find a quiet place to vlog.
Oh, how kind. She's actually squeezing the lime for me and putting it on the pho.
She just put a spoonful of garlic.
I'm not sure what that is. We'll find out soon enough.
So let's dig in while it's still fresh and hot.
We have a lot of scallions.
It's an extended family of scallions.
Super soft.
This is far from al dente.
This grandma was so generous. She gave me so many noodles.
It's like she gave me almost two bowls of rice.
What I really like about Vietnamese pho so far is it's not overly flavorful.
It's just a good amount.
And this is so refreshing in a hot temperature way.
That must be a workout.
The grandma just poured me a drink.
It's some sort of tea and it's slightly bitter.
I am 70% full and I really want to try some more street food.
Round three is by me.
The barbecue is 10,000 Viet Dong.
I'm going to order a small size because I just ate a mini dinner already.
So mine was 15K and that includes just one skewer.
If you get the 25K one, they put two skewers.
So it's definitely more meaty.
Cheers. How do you say it in your country?
Skol.
Shno.
Skol.
I meet my new friends from Belgium.
When 11PM hit, all the lights turned off.
There are these ladies who carry baskets.
Even if you're already eating something, they're going to ask you if you want their bread or their fruit.
The meat in here is a little spicy.
But it's not too spicy.
Most people can handle this.
And the bun is very lightly crispy.
There's slight grill marks.
It is 11.20PM.
All the lights are out.
All the vendors are packing up.
I'm heading towards my hotel.
However, I still am craving to eat one more thing.
I hope my dessert shop is still open.
Oh, it's open!
Alright, let's head in.
There's one seat waiting for me right here.
Thai dessert with taro.
Loaded seed.
Fruit yogurt. Jackfruit yogurt.
Alright, these brown bits is toasted coconut.
And I think this is coconut too. It looks like cheese.
That's also coconut.
It's the stuff.
If you ever, ever have a bad day, and you get a taste of this,
your day is going to turn upside down.
But if you're having a good day and you have this, you're going to have an even better day.
The sticky rice is green.
The rice tastes like rice, but it's all about the ice cream.
So this rice is pretty tight.
You gotta fight with it.
Although they call this the sticky rice ice cream,
really, the star of the flavor is coconut.
That toasted goodness.
This dessert costs 20k.
Remember when we first started the vlog?
Well, this is that area.
Now I am 100% stuffed, and I'm going to head back home.
Sleep well, sleep tight, wake up in the morning fresh,
and film again for the next vlog.
So stay tuned.
I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
Remember to follow me on Instagram and Snapchat.
See you guys! Bye bye!
