Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel, in today's video I bring you the discovery of the beautiful Locorotondo
Before starting the tour and the discovery of this fantastic village, I want to leave you some small information
Locorotondo, thanks to its circular shape, takes its name from the Latin Locus Rotundus which means the round place
Another thing is that Locorotondo, thanks to its characteristic and suggestive historical center
Has been awarded by the Italian Touring Club with the orange flag as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy
Well guys, let's not waste any more time and start our journey through the beautiful Locorotondo
Well friends, we can finally start the tour and the discovery of Locorotondo
And I recommend you to start from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II which is the one that opens the doors to the historical center
Our tour to the discovery of Locorotondo begins and we go to the first attraction, the Mother Church of San Giorgio
A few steps from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, through the busts of the historical center, we find the Mother Church of San Giorgio
Which is the one that you see behind me, think a little, its dome is even 35 meters high and is visible from very far
As an architectural style, on the external facade we find a five-century style
Instead inside we find a Baroque and Renaissance style that merge together
Well guys, now I show you a little from the inside
After the visit to the Mother Church, two steps down the side street, we find another very old and suggestive little church
Which is the little church of San Nicola and is very famous for its refreshed ceilings
Which represent the daily life of the saint
Here it is, it's this one, very small, very nice
Now I'll show you from the inside
San Nicola is the patron saint of the city of Bari
Which we will surely add to the tour of Scovelli Puglia in April
I take advantage of this beautiful corner to stop for a moment to take a little break and give you a little information
You will surely have noticed that in Locorotondo, in the historical center, white is very present
In fact, the historical center of Locorotondo is famous for being refreshed all in white limestone
And above all for the presence of these typical houses called commerce
Which have the characteristic of having a sloping roof
Continuing our walk through the alleys of Locorotondo, we arrive at another place to visit
Which is the Morelli Palace, this one you see behind me, which dates back to the 15th century
And we can see how already at that time the civil architecture had made great strides forward
A few minutes outside the old town of Locorotondo we find the Church of Our Lady of the Greek
Which you think a little is the oldest church in Locorotondo
Subsequently restructured after the passage of Prince Pyrrhus of Taranto
We can recognize on its front facade a Renaissance-style rosette
Now I'll show you a little from the inside
Well friends, the tour to the discovery of Locorotondo ends
And we can only conclude our tour right here in Punto Belvedere
Which is practically the area where we can admire, as you can see behind me, the whole Valle d'Itria
Punto Belvedere extends all the way to Via Nardelli
Now follow me, I'll show you the rest of the panoramic area
We were there, the Belvedere area, this is Via Nardelli
And it is the road that leads us to the most beautiful area in all of Locorotondo
The one that will leave you breathless
In Via Nardelli you can find a lot of restaurants
If someone was wondering where to eat
You can see them here behind me
In the summer they have a lot of tables open
Where you can enjoy a great aperitif and eat something
Instead down here, here it is
You can find a very famous vineyard in the city
I suggest you stop for a tasting of wines
Because Locorotondo is famous for its bollicini
The video has come to an end
I hope it was helpful
I hope you felt part of this journey that I wanted to do with you
I could only end the video in a better place than this
