Hey, what's up, this is Dylan.
I'm Ricky and we're Sidepiece.
Our craziest tour story is not the craziest, but essentially we got to play like one time
or two times.
One time before.
Our craziest one show tour story.
Yeah, so, you know, Sidepiece is a fairly new project and we got to play our first show
at the Brooklyn Mirage, which is in New York.
It's an amazing house venue.
Super excited.
And that was our only show in the books before the quarantine, shut down apocalypse, death
world happened.
That's our crazy tour story.
No, but honestly, the show was really fun.
Like that was the first time we got to play any of our songs live, including On My Mind.
And it was with Diplo.
So it's kind of an epic moment where like, I think we played it and then he played it
as well.
We were on stage all partying.
My family is there.
Your girlfriend, who's there?
Like, there's a lot of people that feel like at the show.
My lawyer was there.
His lawyer was there.
Just to make sure that nothing happened crazy.
Yeah, it was awesome though.
I mean, it was, it was wild to be there.
Like the first time for us to actually, you know, show this project and show, you know,
like what we got against everybody else.
And I think that we held our own.
I mean, we played earlier on and we had the crowd, crowd going crazy, you know, we can
toot our own horn on that one.
But yeah, nobody, nobody fell off any roofs or, or, you know, had weird backstage sex
or anything like that.
You don't know that.
Someone might have.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that everyone did.
Everyone literally had sex on the dance floor.
It was the craziest thing ever.
I wish you were there.
I wish my parents were there.
That, that, that didn't happen.
It did happen.
It was wild.
So now we have the crazy story.
That was it right there.
That was it.
That was our craziest story ever of side piece because that's the only story we have is side
piece.
Okay.
So I think the craziest thing, one of the craziest things that I've ever seen while
on tour was I was, this was years ago.
I was on spring break playing a show early on in Texas.
The weather came through.
It was really bad.
It was, it wasn't that many people there.
So there was all these people, they were getting crazy.
They were partying.
They were, you know, feeling, feeling themselves, feeling the music I'm playing, I'm doing whatever,
but I'm kind of going through the motions.
All of a sudden this drunk chick comes up running on the stage.
It was pretty par for the course.
I think we've all had a few of those before.
Pretty standard.
Every other couple of shows and she comes running up, running up to me, you know, trying
to like touch stuff or whatever.
Security sees her.
They run up.
They're chasing after her.
She's like the old Benny Hill, you know, and she's like running around.
And then basically she thinks it's a great idea to go jump into the crowd.
She leaps over the stanchions to like thinking that people are going to grab her and like
they didn't.
I mean, she was maybe 105, like 5'2 and she goes straight first.
Everyone gets out of the way.
She lands.
I kid you not, like face first on the ground.
Like you can hear her hit and everyone go, Oh, like over the music.
You're like, yeah, this drop is sick.
Oh wait, what?
No, I didn't.
I froze.
I like, I was almost like the record stopped, but like metaphorically it was almost like
a, uh, cause then I'm like, am I liable?
Is this person okay?
Like what the hell happened?
Like, Oh my, like what a terrible situation.
Did she sign a waiver?
Dude, she got up, which was the craziest thing.
It literally was like, I like, I thought she was dead, but she got up and then like
kept partying.
I think she had like a bloody nose and everyone was like, Whoa, yeah.
And then that was the last time I ever played spring break.
That was like the craziest thing.
I mean, I've seen, you know, other wild stuff, but to me that was like something where I
literally thought I saw someone die and I'm glad I didn't.
It's just great that she just pops up like, yeah, like starts partying.
Yeah, that's awesome.
All right.
I thought of one while you were talking, actually, I feel like I've told you this before, but
the last party I went to, um, with Diplo actually, like that was just like one of his, like,
it might've been around the Grammys to be completely honest.
It might've been, but it was just like a house party.
Right.
And I remember seeing like DiCaprio walk by and I was like, Whoa, this is like a crazy
party.
There's like people here and I'm behind the decks like, Oh man, like we had, we had just
started like making house stuff.
So I'm behind the decks like, come on, let me in, let me in, let me, let me play some
tunes.
Right.
So I'm waiting behind stage.
Katy Perry, which I don't even notice comes up next to me.
She sits down on this table, breaks the table.
I was right next to you.
Oh, you were there.
You were there.
Oh my God.
Dylan was there, dude.
So we watched this happen.
She breaks the table.
She gets up and she goes, hold my drink.
She hands me her drink and I'm like, did she just, and then she picks the table up, throws
it into the balcony.
Right.
So to touch on this, we're basically imagine the back of this DJ booth is like push up
to the wall.
There's a, there's a back of the wall.
There's a script, there's a door to outside this house.
We're like, everyone is like this.
So she was already like upset.
I think she was pissed.
So I think when she fell and that happened while you were, were you playing?
I was about to, so I was just like next to her like, Oh shit, she's here.
So she literally was like, she threw that thing out the window and uh, and then she's
like, thank you.
And then started partying.
It was hilarious.
It was honestly, it's so funny that you heard that.
And that was before we even made side piece.
Wow.
That's an epic tour story.
Well, technically no, we didn't, we made a side piece, but yes.
Oh no, we had, we had, we had, we, we, we knew we had just started it though.
Cause all my mind had already come out.
No, it wasn't out.
No.
This is way before these last year.
No.
Way before that.
This is way before that.
Look at us bickering.
Like, you know, married couple.
Yeah.
See, we've been around for too long.
You already know.
There's our stories.
Be safe out there.
Kids.
Yeah.
Literally.
Yeah.
