Why was the pagoda still called the Hell?
During the Western Regime,
a strange thing happened in Sung Chan Pagoda in Lạc Dương City.
At that time, Huệ Ninh, a monk in the pagoda, passed away.
But after 7 days, he came back to life.
People were surprised.
Huệ Ninh told them,
The monk found out that he had made a mistake in the process of examination.
So he brought him back to the world.
He also said that during those 7 days,
there were 5 other monks in his monastery,
but their ending was very different.
So what was their ending?
Dear viewers of Đông Tây Kim Cổ,
let's follow the story with me.
The monk or the monk,
the gods are all clear.
The first monk was Chi Thanh from Bảo Minh Pagoda.
Throughout his life, he devoted himself to meditation and enlightenment.
He was determined to practice, so he could go to heaven.
Another monk in Bát Nhã Pagoda,
he was devoted to meditation,
so he was able to practice 40 sutras,
so he could go to heaven.
Both of the above monks
dedicated their lives to the path of practice.
They did not take advantage of the situation,
so they were able to go to heaven.
The third monk was Đà Mô Tối from Dung Giác Pagoda.
According to him, there were more than 1,000 people,
and he was able to read all the sutras,
including Hòa Nghiêm Sutra and other sutras.
At first glance, he was deeply enlightened,
but he was criticized by Diệm Lạ Phương.
Diệm Lạ Phương said,
People who read the sutras always think that
others are inferior to them.
They look at everything in an arrogant way.
For monks,
that is the most inappropriate behavior.
What we should consider is
whether a person is able to practice,
sit in meditation or read sutras.
Not whether a person can or cannot read sutras.
Đà Mô Tối quickly explained that
since Bình Tăng began to practice,
he only liked to read sutras,
he was really not familiar with reading sutras.
Finally, under the influence of 10 black-clothed monks,
Đà Mô Tối was taken to a dark room
in the northwest.
He built a temple,
but it was all destroyed.
The 4th monk was the emperor of Thiền Đâm temple.
He built 10 statues of Buddha in his life
and declared that he had taught for 4 generations of monks
and dedicated himself to spreading Buddhism.
But Diệm Lạ Phương said,
Monks should focus on keeping the law,
be devoted to good deeds and meditation.
They should not meddle in the affairs of the world.
They should not do unnecessary things.
He created 10 Buddha statues in his life,
and he wanted to borrow this way to get other people's wealth,
then his greed would grow stronger.
When greed is born,
it means that greed is not yet satisfied,
that is, it has not yet been cultivated.
Therefore, the emperor was also taken to a dark room.
The last monk was Bảo Minh of Linh Giác temple.
He first declared that
before he was a monk,
he had been a government official and built Linh Giác temple.
Then he chose to leave the government office
and enter the path of meditation.
After hearing this, Diệm Lạ was angry and said,
When a person is a government official,
he often embezzles money,
breaks the law and does unreasonable things.
He borrowed money to build a temple
and exploited the people.
Therefore, building a Linh Giác temple
is absolutely not a merit of a person.
A person does not need to quickly accept the merit.
Bảo Minh thought that
he was a smart person,
but he was harmed by a smart person.
He was also trapped in a dark room.
The story of Huệ Ninh after coming to the Empress Dowager,
she went to the investigators.
The result was as Huệ Ninh said,
These temples are really in the east, west and central part of Kinh Thành.
And those five monks are real people.
After that, the Empress Dowager invited 100 monks to sit in meditation,
read scriptures and asked them to perform rituals in the temple for a while.
At the same time, an order was issued
not to allow people to borrow money to build a Buddha statue
to donate money on the street,
but allow them to build a Buddha statue with their own money.
Since then, monks around Kinh Thành
focus on sitting in meditation and worship
and no longer pay attention to other activities.
The monk Huệ Ninh died and lived in this monastery.
Finally, he went into the Bạch Lộc mountain
and entered the long-distance meditation path.
Many people do evil things but are not harmed by evil news.
Why?
If a person does evil things,
there can be three kinds of results.
The people in the east believe that
good news is good, evil news is evil.
They believe that good and evil have good news,
they believe that good and evil have good news,
they believe that good and evil have good news.
