Hey guys! Over the summer we host a lot of get-togethers and I always like to have
something to drink on hand for the kids. This watermelon lemonade is the perfect
combination of sweet and tart and the kids love it because it looks
really pretty. I'm Meg and I'm passionate about finding
ways to make life with kids easier in the kitchen.
So here's what you'll need. Watermelon, lemons,
honey, water, and mint. So our first step is to juice our lemons and you're going
to need about three quarters of a cup which I found is like
seven to eight lemons and I like to roll them and that helps release some of the
juices. And today I'm actually using a juicer
and I think I got this when I was renting a house with an orange tree. It
cost me $15 and it's definitely been worth it.
So I'm just going to juice my lemon. Once your lemons are juiced you're going
to put your lemon juice right into a bowl and then add your honey. Give it a
quick mix and set it aside until your honey is dissolved.
While your honey is dissolving you need to puree your watermelon. So I've got my
blender and I'm just going to dump my watermelon right in.
And then you're going to puree it until it's really smooth.
All right now that the watermelon is blended you can either strain it if you
want something that's super smooth. I like a little bit of texture in my
lemonade so I'm going to leave it in. Next I'm going to add my water and then
my honey is dissolved in my lemon juice. I'm going to add them into the mixture.
Now once everything's blended I'm going to pour it into a really pretty pitcher
and put it in my refrigerator to chill. All right it's all chilled and I'm going
to give it a quick stir. And then I have my mason jar which I
love to use because it looks super pretty and says lemonade to me and I'm
going to pour it in. One of my favorite tricks is I like to
use frozen blueberries as ice. To top it all off a sprig of mint and a
pretty straw. And there you have it the perfect summer
drink. Tastes like lemonade. It is lemonade. What else is in there?
Blueberries. Feel free to make this your own. Sometimes I like to add a little bit
of strawberry in with the watermelon or even pineapple. Thank you guys so much
for watching. I hope you're having a great summer and I will see you next
time. Bye guys!
