Then he thought, the result, not long after, the teacher reported that his letter of nomination had been refused by the government. The emperor was delighted, he continued to make a living. A year later, the emperor was promoted to the post of a monk. At this time, he calculated again, it was true that he had just received ninety-one grains of rice per year. After this experience, the emperor began to speak, he said, the benefits of life, happiness, misery in life, all seem to be predetermined in destiny, happiness is not misery, misery cannot be avoided, one must suffer for oneself. So the emperor immediately began to consider everything, all teachers followed the law of heaven. The emperor intended to go up to the mountain, take advantage of the opportunity to find a good way and meet Thiền Sư. Vân Cốc, Thiền Sư and the emperor sat in the room of Thiền for three days and three nights Thiền Sư thought the emperor was still young but still had such determination in his heart. He thought that this young man was very deep in Taoism. The reason why the emperor could not become a monk was that he was always thinking without stopping. He could enter the top three days without moving. Very good! Unexpectedly, the emperor took a long breath and said Thiền Sư, you don't know that. When the life of a child is born, when the child dies, how many meals to eat, what job to do, the emperor told you everything. Even if you have spent all your mind, it is difficult to escape the number of lives. Vân Cốc, Thiền Sư heard this and analyzed. The criminal is very difficult to let go of the desire for benefit in the world, so he is very difficult to escape the number of lives in the world. But the number of lives in the world can only deny the common criminal. There are two types of people outside the number of lives. The first type is a good person and the second type is a bad person. Because the good person, although in their life, they have to suffer, but because they do a good job, their strength is enough to move the world. The poor people are difficult to let go of the disease, and in the end, they can return to the world. And the other bad people, the number of lives does not deny them. Because even if the bad person becomes a good person, the bad things they do will turn happiness into wealth. Therefore, wanting to have the wealth of the world, in the end, they become poor and difficult to let go of the strength. Thiền Sư continued, now there are people who calculate the strength for you, but if you live according to the number of lives you have determined, are you not resting on the last circle? What is the difference between meditation, self-cultivation, and morality? Vinh Hoang was enlightened and did not stop nodding his head. The change was still strong, starting with self-cultivation. Vân Cốc Thiền Sư told Vinh Hoang to repeat all the words of Tuyên Tri, the great Tuyên Sinh. After listening to him, he said, think about it, do you have the fate to become a monk or not? Should you have a son or not? Vinh Hoang nodded his head for a long time and then replied, I think I really don't have enough qualifications. People say, the person who can achieve fame must at least have a happy face. Bẩm Sinh had General Mạo Phúc Mỏng who was sick, he had not done anything good in his whole life. Moreover, the temperament of this man is timid, sometimes he talks to other people and is very angry. These are all expressions of happiness. He said, how can I achieve fame? I am a good son, I have a fear of diseases, I don't like to be close to people. In addition, words easily hurt others, love alcohol, and alcohol also easily destroys one's mental strength. Moreover, people like to sleep late, don't sleep at night, don't wake up on the day, wake up at night to damage the mind. I guess this is the reason why I can't be a good son. Thiền Sư Liên said, There is a strength of the rich, the poor also have a strength to die hungry. If you have a good character, you will have a good reputation, if you don't have a good reputation, it's because you don't have a good character. Receiving the reward of life, God has not made a mistake. The great saint has foretold that you will not have a name, you will not have a son, that is a good fortune. But from now on, you start to cultivate your own good character, gain more merits, earn good karmic rewards, and worry about not having anything. There is a saying, If you have good character, you will have good fortune. If you have good character, you will have good fortune. If the fate cannot change, why do you say that? The words of the Great Saint have touched the heart of Vinh Hoàng. After listening to him, Vinh Hoàng returned to Buddha and to repent before Buddha, to reflect and to atone for his sins. After that, he prayed to be a monk and to have a name, and to do three thousand good deeds to repay the kindness of his ancestors and to offer his body to the Buddha. At that time, the monk gave the emperor a small scroll to record the good deeds and the bad deeds he did every day to reflect on himself. Since he met the monk, the emperor changed his name to Lieu Pham. Later, people often called him Vien Lieu Pham. After recognizing the virtue of being a monk, the emperor changed his lifestyle according to his own will. He regained his spirit. Every day he worked, studied with a careful attitude, and did not waste time. Even if he was alone at home, he did not do bad things. He often reminded himself that there were three things on his head, which were the Holy Spirit, the eyes of God, and the Dhamma. The emperor kept his good deeds. When he met people who said that he did not do bad things, he still smiled and accepted them. He was calm and easy to handle the problem. The following year, the Ministry of Rituals opened the competition. According to the Holy Spirit, the emperor was in the third place. As a result, he was in the first place. The emperor was very excited. He did not expect to change so quickly. After that, every time he did something, the emperor consulted himself. Actually, good deeds come from the heart. The vow to do 3,000 good deeds has already been completed. He continued to pray. I hope God can give me a son. I promise to do 3,000 good deeds. Three years later, the two husband and wife tried to complete the 3,000 good deeds they had promised. Vien Hoang took his wife and son to the Buddha's temple. He knelt down and said, I have completed the previous vows. Now I make a vow to do 10,000 good deeds. I sincerely ask God to bless my son Do Cao Do Tien Si. Unexpectedly, three years later, Vien Hoang Do Tien Si made a vow. But after making the vow, his wife and son were worried. Because he had to fix the temple all day, he rarely went out to meet people. So when will the 10,000 good deeds be completed? One night, Vien Hoang had a dream. He saw a deity told him that only doing one thing can complete 10,000 good deeds. That is to reduce taxes for the people. After waking up, Vien Hoang still thought How can this be related to 10,000 good deeds? At this time, the deity told him Although only doing one thing is to reduce taxes for the people, but the people in the whole village are blessed, so it is considered to do 10,000 good deeds. Vien Hoang was so happy that he came to the Buddha's temple to thank God. In the old days, the monk predicted that Vien Hoang would die at the age of 53.
