Early Shen Yun Pieces: The Lady of the Moon (2016 Production)

This retelling of a classic legend depicts the origins of the moon goddess Chang’E. Her husband Hou Yi is an archer of admirable skill, and together the couple lives peacefully in their village. One night, a group of fairies descend from the moon to dance by a clear pool. Their beautiful movements attract a wicked red dragon, who attacks them. Luckily, the couple arrives to chase him off. A Taoist immortal rewards them for their kindness with an elixir that grants eternal life on the moon. But before both of them can drink it, the red dragon and its minions reappear.
