Is the offering of supernatural offerings to the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas effective?
How to do it right?
Nowadays, many people believe in the cause-and-effect of the New Testament
Therefore, many people are interested in doing good deeds
such as offering to the Buddha, offering to the Bodhisattvas, offering to the Bodhisattvas
or offering supernatural offerings to the spiritual beings who have passed away
Are these things effective?
How to do it right?
Everyone has a spiritual heart
and wants to offer to the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas
so that they and their families can be safe
and receive the blessings of the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas
However, because we don't fully understand the words of the Buddha
and of the elders, the disciples of the Buddha
during their days of Lantern Lifting, we cannot avoid the belief that each person is a type
So how can we do the offering to the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas correctly?
How can the Buddha, the Abhidharma, accept the offering to the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas?
What should we do with the offerings to the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas for the poor?
Let's experience the stories of the Buddha
to understand the answer
Buddha taught the poor to practice bodhichitta
A poor man asked Buddha
Why are you so poor?
Buddha replied
Because I haven't learned how to practice bodhichitta for others
The poor man asked
If you don't have anything, how can you practice bodhichitta?
Buddha replied
Even if you don't have anything
You can still practice bodhichitta for these seven things
Bodhisattva
Bodhisattva's smile
Use a happy face
Smile kindly to people around
Bodhisattva
Bodhisattva's words
Use gentle words
Be honest with others
Bodhisattva
Bodhisattva's heart
Use a kind, generous, honest heart
Treat others
Bodhisattva
Bodhisattva's eyes
Use kind eyes
Cheerful like looking at others
Bodhisattva
Bodhisattva's body
Help others
Do what you can
Bodhisattva
Bodhisattva's seat
Leave a seat for others
Bodhisattva's room
For people in need
I think anyone can do this kind of bodhisattva
This is the manifestation of kindness
Because kindness is the best bodhisattva
Every day, when I do this kind of work
I will be blessed
Because as the old saying goes
A person who does a good deed
Even if happiness hasn't come yet, happiness has left
A person who does a bad deed
Even if happiness hasn't come yet, happiness has left
Bodhisattva Kajep
Teach the poor to worship the Buddha
One day
Bodhisattva Kajep
Went to a temple
Met a very poor old woman
No house
No friend
In the corner of the alley
Dark
That day
She was sick
Almost lying on the bed
Not sitting up
As if she was vomiting
The place where she was lying
There were many broken bricks
A passer-by often saw the old woman
Pour rice water on the broken bricks
For the old woman to drink when she was hungry
Bodhisattva Kajep
Saw the old woman
Went to the temple
The old woman saw the Bodhisattva
Trying to sit up
Breathing
Asking
What about the poor?
I am very weak
Not able to eat
Not able to cover myself
Lying waiting to die
What do I have to worship here?
Bodhisattva Kajep
Told the old woman
Today
I came to ask for your food
To help you
If I give you food
Money
It will only make you poorer
But if you give me a little bit now
Then you have achieved great virtue
In time, you can be reborn into a rich family
Or go to heaven
Happiness lasts a long time
The old woman listened to Bodhisattva Kajep
She was moved
But she couldn't find anything
To offer to the Bodhisattva
She said
I am grateful for your teaching
But I couldn't find any food
Or clothes to offer
Bodhisattva Kajep said
Poor people
Must be rich
But don't want to give away
Hearing that
The old woman was overjoyed
Her hands were full of broken bricks
And a little rice water
For the Bodhisattva
Bodhisattva Kajep accepted
And drank it in front of the old woman
After that
The old woman died
And became a saint
Why did the offering of rice water
To the Bodhisattva
Give her such a great blessing?
First
She offered it with a pure heart
With joy
Second
That little rice water
Was her only offering
It could extend her life
A little bit more
But she still offered it with joy
Third
The Bodhisattva Kajep
Was still in a sad state
Like a normal poor monk
But the day had come
It wasn't an ordinary offering
But an offering to the Bodhisattva
That's why the old woman
Became a saint
The Buddha
Wrote a story about another Bodhisattva
Who also taught the poor
How to make an offering to the Bodhisattva
When you don't have money
In the story
It was written that
Once the Bodhisattva Kajenjien
Met a poor woman
She was beaten by her master
So she committed suicide
The Bodhisattva advised her
The woman said
I'm a poor person
I've been suffering all my life
I'm exhausted
I don't want to live anymore
The Bodhisattva advised her
Poor people are not sure they are unhappy
Rich people are not sure they are happy
To be a human being
You only need to live with a pure heart
A pure soul
That is a kind of joy and goodness
Why should you be sad?
The woman said
You should know that
I'm a slave
I work around the clock all month
I don't have enough to eat
I don't have freedom
My master
He was both stingy and cruel
If he did something wrong
If he didn't beat me
He would have shot me
These sufferings
Are all because of poverty
How can I not be sad for him?
The Bodhisattva Kajenjien said
You should know that
The poverty of human life
Has a cause
Why are poor people poor?
Because in the past
They were not poor and happy
Why are rich people poor?
Because in the past
They were not poor and happy
So being poor and happy
Is the best way to get rid of poverty
And become rich
The woman said
You are right
But I'm so poor
I have nothing
How can I be poor?
The Bodhisattva replied
You don't have to spend money
You can fill a bottle with water
And bring it to my temple
But this bottle is not mine
It belongs to my master
The bottle belongs to the master
But the water in it
Was brought by you
The woman was so happy
She didn't have anything
She just didn't have money
But she still had strength
Health
Kindness
She always had a chance
To change her destiny
These things
Brought good luck
To many people
The woman went to the river
To wash the water bottle
She filled it with water
And offered it to the master
Since then
She did what the master told her to do
Offering water
By offering water to the dead
After that
She went to heaven and was happy
The Buddha said
To make a great offering to the Buddha
The third king thought
To make a great offering to the Buddha
Hoping that the Buddha could pay off his debt
And be free from reincarnation
The Buddha accepted the offer
And asked the king to prepare two bottles
One filled with oil
And the other filled with rock
He used a cloth to cover the bottle
After that
The Buddha told the king
To drop the two bottles into the river
And break them
The oil poured on the water
And the rock sank deep into the river
The Buddha asked
If the Buddha made all the offerings
Could the oil sink
And the rock rise?
The king replied
No
The Buddha asked why
The king replied
Because it's a natural law
The oil always rises on the water
And the rock always sinks
The Buddha said
There is no difference between us and nature
We are all part of nature
In fact
If our ancestors made a mistake
And didn't pay off their debt
Then their remaining years
Would be like the rocks
They would sink deep into the water
And do all the good deeds
Like the oil rising on the water
Not only this life
But there are many other lives
They have to bear the consequences
The Buddha said
This natural law
Can be changed by any offering
By any ritual
The Buddha said
Even if I am a Buddha
I can't change it
Only good deeds
Can help you open the door
And escape
The Buddha said
Only the King Tích Đức
Can do many good deeds
Only the King Tích Đức
Can atone for his sins
And have a chance to escape
So
Offering a lot of money
To a close relative
Is just a ritual
With a small effect
The real effect
Is to encourage the living
To do many good deeds
To benefit themselves
And to reduce the suffering
For the deceased
From the teachings of the Buddha
And the scholars
About offering the bed
Offering the bed
When the body and the family
Is revived
The only way
Is to become an ascetic
And do good
All offering the bed
The offering
All are useless
If there's no good
If the hidden purpose
Of offering the clothes
Is to benefit yourself
To ask for health
To live a comfortable life
To earn money
To grow wealth
To improve your position
Not to become an ascetic
And redeem the sins
Then though the bed is bent
even gold can't be considered a good deed
Why was the offering of the bed to the monk so blessed?
Because, like the above two stories,
those two monks, although they were miserable monks,
had already received the blessing of the Buddha
What if they were ordinary monks?
They probably wouldn't have been so blessed
And if the monk accepted the offering of the bed
and didn't practice, didn't suffer,
and used that money for charity,
then that offering of the bed
would not only be useless, but could also be sinful
Dear brothers and sisters,
after listening to the above stories,
