Hi, I'm Cody.
I'm Mike.
Okay.
Tour tips.
Buy groceries ahead of time.
Mac and cheese, throw in canned veggies.
If you eat meat, canned tuna is really affordable and that feeds everybody for pennies compared
to what it is to like get a pizza or order this or go through a drive-thru.
And your body will thank you for the, even, it's canned vegetables, but your body will
thank you.
Eat your freaking vegetables, guys.
It's important.
It is.
Brush your freaking teeth.
Wipe your ass, like change clothes every day.
I have had this like new mindset lately on tour of like treat everything like it's your
job and like if you don't brush your teeth, you're going to wake up feeling gross and
nasty and like it adds up over time.
And like going into every day with like a clean ass and like clean socks and brush teeth
makes like a world of difference.
Like get off your butt.
I know you smoke too much weed before bed.
Get up and go brush your teeth and you're going to feel a million times better when
you wake up.
Absolutely.
Take care of your vehicle.
Oil changes.
You don't think about them and a lot of times, a lot of us don't do those kind of high mileage
trips.
So, think about that.
You got to, you got to change the oil.
You got to take care of the things.
Get checkups.
I know it can be a little expensive, but maybe find a friend who knows how to do it.
Get their help.
Get their pointers.
Learn how to take care of your vehicle yourself and you'll thank yourself in the long run
because you don't have this huge bill.
And a couple hundred bucks here to fix something is way better than a couple grand to try to
buy a whole new mobile.
You got to, you got to take care of your baby.
For sure.
Water.
Making a habit of drinking water has helped me a lot.
I think you don't really realize how much you sweat and how much water you should just
normally drink as a person and a lot of vans drink on tour.
Beer and booze is fine, but you've got to.
Every beer, a water.
Beer.
Water.
That's it.
I drink a lot of beer on tour.
I'm not some like vegan health nut guru that like exercises every day on tour and does
all these things.
My body's not a freaking temple, but like I drink as much water as I drink beer and
I feel a lot better than people who don't drink water.
I think that was four.
Yeah.
And I think five is your most valuable tip.
And I really would like you to do the zip lock.
This is a bit of a longer one, but it's a game changer.
We're going to get into it.
So I have, I can't say patented because I don't think, I don't remember where I got
the idea.
I didn't like think of it myself, but anyway, so the way I pack for tour, which has made
my life like 10,000 times easier is I've got all these zip lock bags.
So what I do is I take clean shirt, clean socks, clean undies, and each like individual
outfit gets its own little separate bag.
So I have a big duffel bag with all my clothes and then a backpack that I take in and out
of like where we're sleeping.
So then every morning you grab a clean outfit and you throw it in your backpack and then
you go in and you change and you put your dirty clothes back in the bag and you tuck
it in here and all your stuff is like super organized.
You can like push all the air out of the bags and like get them all condensed and fit a
bunch of crap into one suitcase.
But I spend like a day and a half packing for tour and just front loading all of the
effort to like organize all my stuff and it makes it way easier.
You're tired.
You play the show, you're walking in somewhere, you know you're going to shower.
You just grab one zip lock and walk on inside with it and you're set.
Plus then your, your clean drawers don't smell like your stanky drawers.
Nothing grosses me out more than seeing somebody finish a set, take off their dirty socks and
just shove them in their backpack.
Like you're ******* water bottles in there.
You've got food in there.
Like I'm really big on the zip lock bag.
I segregate my dirties and my cleans.
I don't **** around.
I love it.
But just in general, I think like the, if you don't want to go through all that effort,
like the overarching, like big tip that anyone could take away is like taking the extra time
to stay organized, like 10 minutes every day to just make sure your blankets are folded
and your clothes are where they're supposed to be.
You got nothing else to do.
You're going to kill time in a city and you're going to walk in circles and you're going
to spend money or this or that.
Just take the time, do something that's going to help you every single day because if not
by day six, you're looking back going, oh my God, everything's a disaster.
Our van looks messy, but our van is cozy and it's home and we take care of it.
And if you don't do that, you'll be fighting and yelling and miserable.
Take the little bit extra time that it takes to just stay clean.
You've got, it takes an hour to load in, an hour to load out.
You got a 30 minute set, which means you have 21 and a half hours to sleep and get
your ---- together.
So there's no excuse not to have your ---- together.
It's just easier that way.
