It's that one goal under. Charlie has the ball on the left-hand side. What is Deluded doing there? Oh my days, no!
EZ!EZ!EZ!EZ!EZ!EZ!EZ!EZ!
People, Deluded, I'm back again.
Come on, Ian, bro. Come on.
As the big man Ian Wright just said there. People, Deluded, I'm back again.
If we haven't bucked up this month, new month, new blessings. Hope you and your loved ones are in good health.
And I hope you're all having a great week long may that continue. As usual whether you're on Twitch, Twitter or YouTube.
Thank you very much for tuning in.
If you're on YouTube, smash the like button,
regardless of whatever platform you're on.
Any comments, questions, talking points,
it's all welcome, people.
And again, make sure your notification bells are on.
Sunday, we're watching Arsenal versus Manchester City together.
And I'm just putting you lot on notice.
There's a bunch of content to come from myself
on my YouTube channel,
specifically in the next coming days, man.
You know, I'm in the process of shooting some previews
of the Man City game with some Man City fans.
A couple have been, no, one's been done,
a couple are pending.
I've had some content with some Arsenal fans as well.
So yeah, there's a bag of content to come out.
I just got to put the final touches, people.
Feels like we haven't done a watch along,
a man said watch along,
a live stream specifically in relation
to just everything Arsenal in a while, man.
But we're back, people.
And I'm a bit sad because after this week,
obviously it's the international break.
On the topic of that,
I hope Arsenal fans are at that stage now
where we've accepted not that we can do anything
and go back in time.
The disappointing result on a couple of days ago
against Lens.
Obviously, we've got Manchester City on Sunday.
It does leave a bad taste in your mouth
if you lose both games going into the international break.
We've got Chelsea after that.
So yeah, of course, we're live.
Big up yourself, Marcel.
You know, best of luck today
in the first day game against,
are you playing Union CG or something like that?
I think the McAllister brothers are going off together.
If I see Saka in an England shirt, I'm going to be mad.
You know Saka's going to play really and truly.
I hope he plays on Sunday if I'm honest.
Man said DG on inverted settings with that wonder goal.
I mean, a broker clocks right twice a day.
You should see the chances that don't go in.
So yeah, man, big up you lot tuned in.
Big up myself for commenting as well.
Obviously, you don't want to see Saka play for England
in a nice way.
I don't want to see him play in the two games
that I assume they're playing.
I think there's Austria
and I think there's Australia or Australia and Italy.
I don't even know man.
I don't even pay attention to international duty
if it's not official competitions,
Copa America, Euros, World Cup, et cetera, et cetera.
Obviously, you want Saka rested
and I don't quite personally,
I don't agree with the Saka needs rest stuff.
I don't agree with it.
I think it's nonsense.
You know, I think, you know,
who knows better than Mikel Arteta
and the medical staff, you know, really.
And if Saka, I always use the example of Mohamed Salah.
Clearly, they're at different stages in their career,
but when Liverpool were fighting for the Champions League
and won it and the Premier League, et cetera,
he's going to play, you know,
Salah's going to play every game for Egypt
in official competition.
He's going to play every game for Liverpool.
This is the dynamics that Saka is going to be
and you're a key player.
You know, a lot of people wanted us
to rest players against Lens.
Look at the performance we put in
with our strongest team.
So imagine what would have been happened.
That being said, I do agree with fans' concern.
I do think Saka's played a lot of football
and he's still in his early 20s.
We need to manage him correctly
and things like that.
I do think there's opportunities
for Mikel Arteta to trust other players in his squad
because while I think, you know,
definitely where the Champions League's concerned,
City or just about any Premier League game,
Saka is a match winner for us.
He's our best right wing
and he's one of the best players in his position,
not just in the league,
but in the Premier League, in the world.
We need him.
That being said, there are a couple of times
where Mikel Arteta could have been a bit cute and clever,
take Saka off when there's 20 minutes left
and the game's done.
You know, if you save Saka's legs at 20 minutes here,
10 minutes here, five minutes there,
then before you know it,
that's an hour less in the legs
for Mikel Arteta's right winger in Bakayo Saka.
So, and not just him, a bunch of players,
obviously we're going to have to manage Saka correctly,
Benjamin White, et cetera, et cetera.
We knew what we was walking into this season.
We knew there's games every three days.
There's only one competition
that isn't a thing for Arsenal at the moment,
the FA Cup, which at the turn of the year,
well, beginning of next year, better yet, everybody's in.
We need to play Bakayo and that goes for, you know,
Saka, Gabriel, Saliba.
These guys are going to play really and truly.
Of course, once again, we need to rotate.
We need to be cute and clever,
but beyond the obvious,
I'm obviously disappointed to lose to Lens
because it would have been six points on the board.
The quicker we confirm qualification
to the next round of the Champions League,
if we still can, fingers everything crossed,
then yeah, Mikel Arteta can, you know, Nelson, Smith-Rowe,
all of these guys can play in Saka's role.
I think I speak for many Arsenal fans.
Smash the like button if you're on YouTube,
where of course you would have liked a Pedro Neto
or just in general, a right winger to, you know,
to compete or be used in ahead of Saka.
I understand that DG,
but he's clearly injured.
He needs management as we've got plenty of games to play him.
But what do I know?
And I agree with that CeeLo.
I think we need to tread carefully
where Saka's concerned, 100% really.
I'm just saying, I think people do too much,
but again, Arteta needs to be a bit cute and clever
with Bakayo, Saka and the rest of them.
That back five was a masterclass
in how to beat us.
We'll see it more and more.
Not really.
I disagree slightly.
I think the first goal, there's an handball,
but nine times out of 10,
Arsenal are going to play a low block.
And I understand why Fabio Vieira came on at the time
because, you know, we're playing a low block,
10 men behind the ball, 11 men in their own half.
In theory, you know,
I don't really believe it with this player,
but Kai Havertz, Odegaard, Adefodou, Fabio Vieira,
they're going to get in the half spaces and the pockets.
When Saka came off,
which I think Saka, Jesus and Rice,
they're the only ones I think
actually matched to work in that game.
I think you needed to go with Nelson, really.
Not that Nelson done well when he came on the pitch
because we're playing a rigid system.
They've got men behind the ball.
You know, we need to provide more width into the team
and nine times out of 10, we're playing low blocks.
Nottingham Forest did that before
they were a bit more expansive and got the goal.
That's what we're going to play.
And this is why this season is different
from last season in that,
obviously people know Arsenal playing,
but this time last year was a breath of fresh air.
You couldn't really suss out what Arteta is doing.
Arteta has taken what we did last season
and he's obviously, there's a bit of teething issues,
but he's adding different elements into our game.
We've seen Gabriel drop.
We've seen Partey play, play right back.
We've seen one, two things really and truly.
So yeah, man, I think it's a case of that.
I think Arteta is trying to explore systems
and all of that sort of stuff.
And I do agree, you know,
you want to see Saka's legs rested.
I know Saka is still young
and I guess it's a case for Saka as well to learn to,
from what you hear, he manages his body well,
but there's sometimes where Saka might have to say,
you know what, I can't play or I need to come off,
et cetera, et cetera,
because there is an element of potentially
running the young man into the ground.
And it's not the same.
But when I look at Saka,
I look at Cesc Fabregas and Wayne Rooney now,
Saka would do well to be mentioned in the same realm
as these players when his career is done.
But you look at both of them were playing
from 16 years of age, better yet.
And you look at, you know,
they kind of peaked very early in the end of their careers.
It was a bit rubby really and truly
by the time they were kind of 30,
it was a bit of a madness really.
I imagine Saka is, I imagine Saka is,
I think you mean, I imagine if Saka can run,
he can play.
Saka is trying to reach world-class levels.
I have to respect it,
but it's up to the manager and the medical team.
And if you're Bakayo Saka, you're going to,
again, there's a deeper argument to be said really
and truly for Saka really,
in the sense of, you know,
resting him and things.
There's a, in fact, better yet,
there's a deeper conversation to have
about the amount of football players are playing really.
We all know, I feel sorry for footballers
because they're guinea pigs.
There's a bunch of unnecessary friendlies,
you know, in the last two years,
we've got to remember,
there was a World Cup approach in this time last year,
the Premier League, there was a bunch of games.
You add up all of them things,
you're looking at probably 50, 60 games a season
really and truly if I'm honest with you.
Of course, it's not up to the players
and this is what annoys me,
not your comment,
but when people say footballers don't care,
there's very few players at any club
that are not carrying little nuts and niggles really,
you know, really and truly,
we're basically into the second,
third month of the Premier League season.
I guarantee there's hardly any players
that are not carrying something.
Training's intense, the games are thick and fast.
As you know, it takes typically 48 hours,
but players have to learn to manage their bodies
and things like that
and you don't want to run Saka into the ground.
It's an interesting debate,
but obviously, you know, when I look at Timbo,
me as a fan, I thought, you know what,
that man needed to come off before,
obviously what led to his demise
in the second half of his Premier League debut,
but if the medical team have signed him off,
of course, but I also think the managers at times
need to save players from themselves
because I don't think a single player is going to say,
I'm not ready to play.
I can't play at the moment.
They're always going to put their body on the line.
You know, you've got to remember,
these men want to play.
If you're Saka, you want to play, bro.
You've been, Saka's been, you know,
carrying this team on his back.
We finally got into the Champions League.
He's got two Champions League appearances
under his belt, a first away game.
These men want to play.
Sometimes I think the players
have to be saved for themselves.
It shows he loves the club
and it shows how consistent he is,
even big up Sirius brother, even you lot.
I know Marcus Rashford gets a lot of complaints,
but was it not last year or the year
before where he said, you know,
we're playing with injuries?
Being a footballer, I feel sorry for themselves.
I do think footballers are kind of being
given the short straw because we all know
the fat cats that organise games and stuff,
the figureheads, bro, there's a bag of games.
But if Saka wants to be one of the best players
in the world, which he's on the trajectory,
bro, you're going to play 60-odd games.
You're going to play every game
for Arsenal Football Club.
You're going to probably play every game
there is for England.
I would like to see him do what Trent and Rashford
and these kind of guys have done,
mysterious injuries and things.
But it is what it is.
This is the scenario.
Big up the YouTube members.
As James said, we do need a sick note
from Southgate.
And big up Eddie Nketiah for Kyle Saka,
who's been named in the England squad.
Eddie Nketiah, Saka, Ramsdale and Declan Rice.
It's a bit unfortunate about Benjamin White
not being in that England squad,
but we all know that's not a footballing decision.
There's all bad blood in that regard.
Only men that are fully fit are the ones
that always hold bench.
And even that, really, you know,
we live in a day and age where football is intense.
You know, training is going to be intense
because you want to replicate training on a match day.
Training's intense.
You know, the games are coming thick and fast.
You've got to remember,
it takes about 48 hours to recover physically.
When you've got a game every three days,
it is a big push.
So I guess Mikel Arteta does have to learn
to rotate and ultimately trust players.
And I would say the main thing with Saka is
he doesn't always need to play 90 minutes,
especially when the games are wrapped up.
Like, it is a bit annoying.
Saka's literally limping and limping and limping.
And then Arteta's like, you know what, come off.
Again, sometimes when you're the manager,
rightly or wrongly, you see different things.
So it's disappointing.
But what I would say the better thing is,
you know, bring someone in that's levels with Saka.
Easier said than done.
You know, they've compared Saka
to a lot of these England players
and ones that Nottingham Forest,
one can't buy a game for United.
And, you know, it's all of these things.
But if we had a Pedro Neto,
maybe it wouldn't be a thing.
I'm trying to sweep that one day into existence.
Big up the Bulgarians, man.
Ben White's still not called up.
Defo Southgate doesn't know how to manage Benny Blanco.
Obviously, and I'm not saying Southgate is necessarily wrong,
but we all know the Benjamin White thing
is not a footballing decision.
It's nothing to do with his footballing ability.
I have recovered from illness.
We appreciate that.
But as I was saying, we all know with Benjamin White,
it's not a fitness.
I mean, it's not a footballing decision.
There's something more to it.
Obviously, he left the World Cup squad.
There's something there.
If Saka isn't on point, Martinelli usually steps up.
We miss him a lot.
It's a techie one going into the game against City
because we can waffle about,
well, Gundogan's left,
no Kevin De Bruyne,
and no Rodri is still Manchester City.
They've still got Arlen and Alvarez and things like that.
Our front line, really,
I don't know what I want to see, really.
I don't really want to see a front line of,
and if it works, boy, I'll take it as the gaffer.
I'll be the happiest man on YouTube.
But I don't really want to see Havertz, for example,
as a false nine.
Tross up slash Martinelli either flank.
You know, to be honest with you, I'll take the risk.
If Martinelli's fit and Saka's fit,
I'd probably start them both or at least one of them,
really and truly, if I'm honest with you.
I was surprised when I saw Saka play against Lenz
and would be even more surprised if he plays against City.
I heard he's been playing with an injury for a while.
Now you would know more than me.
I mean, it came out he was playing with an Achilles knock
in the season.
I wouldn't be surprised because Arteta always does this.
And sometimes it might not happen,
but he always does this.
Oh, Saka, it don't look good.
All of a sudden, match day,
you hear Bakayo Saka number seven, really.
Maybe he was told to watch football
and Benny Blanco was like,
I don't watch football, soz, mate.
I mean, there's something more to it.
We'll never know.
And there's three sides to every story.
There's the truth.
There's what Benjamin White would have to say.
And there's what Gareth Southgate would have to say.
It is what it is.
From a selfish point of view,
while I want to see every, you know,
Benjamin White, obviously, representing your country,
it must slap different, innit?
You know, we all had dreams of playing in Champs,
playing in Prems, being called up to national teams.
So my heart bleeds for him,
especially when you're seeing your other teammates get selected.
But from a selfish Arsenal point of view,
I don't necessarily care what England do,
especially if there's no Euros.
It means Benjamin White gets to save his legs.
And he's a player that you look at
towards the end of last season,
Saka, Benjamin White, a couple of others.
We ran them into the ground.
Benjamin White, the top spot folding.
That's why it could be that really a tree.
Hopefully it dumps him up on Sunday, innit?
Going to be interesting to see the lineup versus it.
It's going to be an interesting game.
Me personally, I think it's obviously,
it's a chess match.
It's Arteta, Pep Guardiola.
There's Docu against Benjamin White.
There's Saka, whoever plays against the wingers.
There's many, you know, it's going to be a chess match.
You know, I think it's going to be a game of,
well, obviously football's more than a 90 minute game,
but like nine different 10 minute matches.
But I also think it's a psychological thing
because I go back to my watch along
where we watch City versus Arsenal.
Now, I don't know these players.
I can't just look at them on face level,
but to me as an ignorant fan,
watching it on my TV,
I honestly believe the game at the Etihad
was decided in the tunnel.
It looked like my players were a bit defeated.
We need to have belief.
Do I expect to beat City? Of course not.
But if we lose to City
and we've done everything we can,
then, you know, I don't know,
Alvarez smacks in a goal from 30 yards.
You have to hold your hands up
or Haaland does something crazy.
What can you say? That's why they're quality.
What I don't want to see is losing the ball
on transitions, not following runners.
You know, what has been a case
of when we've played City,
we've done well,
but there's been individual errors,
you know, and that's actually
followed us this season.
Again, things that we may have got away
with in the North London Derby
or against Manchester United
or in general, you're not typically
going to get away with them
against the league's best.
And I want to see us
have a real go of it against City
because this is what we've dreamed of.
You know, you look at
when Mikel Arteta first walked
into where we are now,
these are almost, you know,
privileged problems.
We wanted to be in this,
you know, going into games.
If we can beat City,
we might be able to do this and that.
And for me as a footballer,
which I'm not, surely this is where
you see your best level, really.
If you're a defender, goalie, midfielder,
yes, it's not going to be
the strongest Arsenal team,
neither is it going to be City.
But to be the best,
you've got to beat the best
and you've got to see how you fare
against the best, really.
And that goes for the gaffer.
On the topic of Arteta, Arteta showed me
he can plan for things.
He can, you know,
I'm actually the most confident
about the midfield battle
because Arteta showed me
he can have plans to stifle a midfield.
But again, football is played
in the midfield.
It's decided in both boxes.
Are we as efficient or as effective
in scoring goals in the final third of City,
regardless of their ability?
Are we switched on defensively
in the defensive third?
I think you lot know the answer
because ultimately,
this is what led to our demise
against Spurs, really and truly.
And I don't think we're
creating enough chances.
You know, again,
I do think we've improved off the ball
and I do think there's more structure,
but I do think that's come at a cost
individually for a lot of our
creative players and collectively,
really.
You know, I think obviously
you want to see
what we do on the training field
kind of implemented on a match day,
but it just feels like
we're a bit too scripted.
It's a bit too choreographed
and there's not that
healthy bit of randomness
and it can become a bit predictable.
And if I'm completely honest with you,
one problem,
I wouldn't say scoring goals
is necessarily a problem for Arsenal,
but it shouldn't be an issue
for Arsenal, really.
You've got Pacquiao, Saka, Trosser, Martinelli,
whatever you say about Eddie is decent.
Many players in it,
Odegaard behind them and stuff like that.
I shouldn't be saying that's an issue.
I should be talking about
defensively, really.
DG, the main problem is midfield.
Everyone can see it,
but everyone wants Rice, Partey, Odegaard.
Let's be real.
It's going to be Rice,
Havertz and Odegaard.
How come Arteta is stubborn
with that midfield?
To be fair, as a manager,
you need a degree of stubbornness
because if Arteta wasn't stubborn,
Benjamin White wouldn't have been here.
Ramsdale wouldn't have been here.
Xhaka wouldn't have turned his way around.
But at the same time,
you need to be able to change
Obviously, you look at someone
like Pep Guardiola who really
no one can tell you nothing about football.
He listens to his coaching staff
and I think Arteta the same.
You lot that follow my channel,
you know I've been very vocal on
we need to pattern midfield.
I have to assume Arteta believes he has
because you've spent 105 million on Declan Rice
and the jury's still out on Kai Havertz.
That was what, 65 odd million?
That's over 100 million on two midfielders.
I think we needed more pure centre mid options.
I think you needed options
that could match up with Partey, Rice,
maybe two more that are genuine
options in that pivot.
And then by all means,
have your experiment Captain
Sabre Hall with Kai Havertz.
Do what you're doing with Fabio
and Odegaard and Smith Rowe
and all these guys.
I don't think midfield has been solved.
I hope it is between January and the summer
because I'd imagine there's a world
where anything to one to all three
of Jorginho, Thomas Partey
and El Nene probably depart.
You know, there are games for Jorginho
and El Nene to come off the bench
and maybe even start.
But as we know, you know,
you look at the Spurs game,
Jorginho can't play in those sort of games.
In fact, saying that he played well
against City last season,
I think, at the Emirates.
I think we need a midfielder.
I think with Thomas Partey,
I think the writing's on the wall.
Personally, I would keep him
for another year,
but he's contracted until 2025.
He could sign a new deal,
but it's been radio silence
in relation to that.
I think people are over exaggerating
the injury short term.
Don't think it hinders them.
It's still going to be a tough match.
I don't think Calvin Phillips
is going to play 90 minutes,
but you've still got Bernardo,
Alvarez, Doku, Foden
and it's still Manchester City.
Of course, we should be
a bit more bullish.
That's where other players step up
and we all know Pep Guardiola
is a madman.
He's not going to win a treble.
Let all them players he left
let go and not have a plan for us.
He's still got Nunes,
Kovacic, Foden, Grealish.
There's still a bunch of other players.
We cannot afford to be
complacent against Man City.
The only time we look
half decent against City,
if we're honest with ourselves,
is at Wembley.
Of course, in recent years,
we've shown that we can
kind of go toe to toe
with City, kind of match them,
but ultimately you need to win games.
Again, it's unfortunate that
everyone else is competing
against this juggernaut of a City side.
In August, you need to be
looking at nightyard points.
To beat City to a league title
over two games,
I think we ain't beat them in the league
in like 15 fixtures.
It's quite crazy, but
you need to take points
in them two games.
If you're not going to take points
across those two games against Man City,
then the other 36 Premier League games,
you need to be perfect
in the sense of three points,
regardless, three points.
Have we done that already?
No, we've dropped points
from winning positions
twice already this season,
against Spurs and against Fulham.
Luckily, we drew them games.
That's four points dropped in the league.
Obviously, if you consider the Lens game,
well, we dropped all points
from winning positions.
So I can't guarantee Arsenal
are going to be perfect
across 36 games,
and neither can you lot,
and neither can any other teams.
And it's about time
we beat City really and truly.
You know, again,
as much as it's about defeating City,
defeating ourselves,
because I would love to know
if these players genuinely believe
that they can beat City.
And I'm not saying that to criticize them.
You need belief in football.
The beautiful thing about football is
it's not decided on paper.
Look at Newcastle yesterday.
I mean, I said Newcastle
are going to win in the watch-along.
Shout out to you lot.
But the bookmakers, you know,
probably would, you know,
if you bet on PSG prior,
you probably wouldn't have
made too much money.
And look what happened.
Look at Wolves last week against City.
Now, games are different,
but there's belief.
If everybody takes care
of their individual performance,
if fullbacks say, you know what,
I'm locking down wingers,
if midfielders say my opposite man
ain't getting a sniff,
if strikers are on it,
if everybody individually
takes accountability,
the collective takes care of itself.
And again, it's a mental game.
If we score the first goal,
how are we going to react?
We concede the first goal,
how are we going to react?
It's these sort of things
I'm going to be looking at.
And again, it's a beautiful test
against a team like Manchester City
because you see your true level, really.
And again, even if I'm honest,
in the last recent games against City,
we've been getting bullied
and battered and stuff like that.
But it's been a lot more closer.
But all that matters is winning or losing.
There's no point me sitting here
and it's not necessarily wrong,
but yeah, we was in it for 80 odd minutes
and then there was a mistake
and it went left.
It doesn't matter.
It's winning or losing.
That's the beautiful thing about football.
You know, when we look back in May,
all it's going to say is
everyone's played 38 games.
How many wins draw the losses?
And obviously that correlates
whether you finish first or 20th, really.
So these are the sort of things
and I would say with,
with, you know, this season,
I think the standards have raised
because it could have been a lot better.
It could have been a lot worse.
We've still got a decent amount
of points on the board, in my opinion,
despite the fact of, you know,
I wouldn't say individually,
every player is firing.
I wouldn't say collectively we're firing.
The standards have dropped, have risen.
And obviously our Tetris tweaking
little individual roles
and systems and things like that.
You know, we need to show
that we can, we can do this thing.
And I always say, I think Arsenal
at times were our best friends
and then other times were our worst enemies.
We still have that element
of self-capitulation,
making games a lot tougher
than it needs to be,
as probably reflected in the few games
we played this season as well.
And as much as I big up City
and you lot do,
and they're an amazing side,
let's be real.
We had the Premier League in our hands
and it was chocolate teapot settings.
We fumbled it ourselves, man.
One love for the super chat.
That's a big super chat.
I will keep up the content.
P, appreciate that
and appreciate all of you lot.
Oh, I appreciate you.
Big up DG.
I'll be at the City match
hoping for a result for us.
First things first,
to you and everybody traveling
and in general, safe travels to and from.
Hopefully you return home,
enjoy your spirits
because we've got three points.
It's about time.
It takes me back to Sunday league.
Before I played for a team
called Edmonton All-Stars,
I used to play for Broadwater Farm.
Now, when I joined Edmonton All-Stars,
this, for a number of years,
Broadwater Farm used to batter us.
You know, they probably,
I have to name names.
Ramel, you were scared.
We're only like seven, eight years of age,
but you were scared.
You know, it was a difficult place.
If anyone's been Broadwater Farm,
you look at the estate,
you see the hoodlums,
you smell the cannabis.
It is intimidating.
They used to have our number.
They used to batter us
like the game was won or lost.
And then we started winning
because it gets long.
It is disheartening
playing a team that you know
is going to batter you
and you're going to lose.
Don't get twisted.
They had a couple of fake age dons.
Like, what was his name?
Evans.
We're like under eights
and I'm only five eights.
I was shorter then, bro.
This guy was like,
bro, he was like 20.
He looked about 21
and we was like under eights, under nines.
I'm sure he had a beard and that.
But you get the point.
It's long getting battered,
really and truly.
You know, it's long consistently
losing to City, really.
And I always look at Liverpool
as an example because
if Liverpool versus City was a war,
obviously Liverpool lost the war,
but they won a couple of battles.
They grabbed the Champions League.
They, I think there was a year
there was a point behind City
and then they went one better
the other year
and ended their 30 year drought
for a Premier League.
So it can be done,
but you've got to want it.
Now, obviously,
we're a lot different from Liverpool
because, you know,
we've got a younger team.
You know, Salah was in his prime.
Mane was in his prime.
Firmino was doing his thing.
And I think they believed
that obviously at Anfield,
obviously the Emirates is rocking,
but I can't say that we're
like Anfield at this moment in time.
If anything, excluding the Lens game,
we're a lot better away from home.
I think for the neutrals,
it's a great,
it's a great game to watch us
at the Emirates,
but it's really the good,
bad and the ugly at the Emirates.
We're far too entertaining.
You know, one thing I like about
Emirates as shown,
probably last season
and so far on occasion this year,
we don't give up until the end,
literally until the 90th minute.
You can't write us off.
We've shown that we can
snatch a point or three
from the jaws of defeat.
We can turn games around,
but now we need to become
a lot more calm,
collected, calculated
and ultimately ruthless.
As I said,
football is decided in both boxes.
Can we say we're as efficient
and effective in the defensive
and final third
as we are in the middle third?
I don't think there's a team
in this world that on our day,
we can't match in midfield,
regardless of who's there.
Purely because Arteta has shown me
he can smash the light button,
people, he can plan things,
but it's the efficiency.
Now we can always look at players,
but nine players make mistakes.
You get lost on the transition.
You know, you can sit here
and blame Jorginho's
lack of efficiency
on the ball when we just scored.
That was something
we could have learned from
when we quickly got into the,
back into the game
against Man United.
And you can look at Jesus,
but football is decided by moments.
But I think that's a very lazy view.
It's a 90 minute game.
Did we do enough over the 90 minutes?
Who knows, man?
We'll have to see.
Well, this is peak.
I don't remember the last time
we beat City,
but I remember it was in August,
but it's crazy, man.
Appreciate you, James Bond,
for the super chat.
I mean, Saka, Saka, innit?
They're always going to call him up, man.
Saka's too good for his own,
his own luck, really.
I would have loved to have seen Smith
throw in the England camp,
but he needs game time.
Hit the likes, everyone.
Big up yourself, Martin.
Appreciate you.
Think you said in your vid yesterday,
we're taking more risks in defence
than attack.
That sums us up.
Exactly.
And I find it a bit weird.
It's like we take more risks
in the defensive third.
Like, you know, obviously,
Ryan made a mistake at Lens,
nine times out of ten,
that pass works.
Unfortunately, it didn't happen.
When you're playing out from the back
and trying all of those things,
it is going to happen.
But it seems like we're more risk on
in the defensive third
than in the final third, really.
Which, again, I don't understand
football as much as these Arsenal
players and Arteta.
But surely in the opponent's half,
or on the edge of the opponent's box,
you should take more risk
and try different things.
I don't know why that is,
but that's just what I see.
This game will show you
how much you've progressed.
Yes and no.
I believe that,
because it all depends
on the performance.
But if we lose,
I don't think it's all doom and gloom.
We have to get on with it.
If we win, I don't think
we should be sitting here
talking from the heavens
and proclaiming,
Arsenal are this, that and the other.
There's a whole heap of games.
As you've seen, people,
you know, on paper,
you've probably gone into games
saying Arsenal should win.
But Bath, PSV in the Champions League
and probably Bournemouth as well.
And to a degree,
Nottingham Forest into the second half.
It's been high intensity,
close games, really.
Even Crystal Palace,
which I think
is one of the cleanest
performances we've had
when we went down to 10 men.
It takes a lot of energy out of you.
The Fulham game,
very emotional as well.
DG, there's a long way
to go in the season,
but again, a week's
a long time in football.
So imagine 38 Premier League weeks.
You're fully speaking facts.
But yeah, it feels like
we take a lot more risk
in the defensive third
than in the final third.
I don't know why that is.
That's just honestly, as a fan,
what I see, if I'm completely honest.
We need two midfielders again
because we signed Havertz.
I'm not going to lie.
I hope Havertz starts to look
like a Schweinsteiger,
a Balak, a Mesut Ozil,
a Thomas Muller,
any sick German player
that you lot can think of.
But yeah, as I said, for me,
I want Thomas Partey, Declan Rice,
Joe Bloggs, who's 30 in midfield.
You know, Jonathan Bloggs,
who's 30 in midfield.
Four real midfield options,
like a young guy
that's going to take over
from Partey in that six.
I would like another number eight.
I don't know who to sign.
And then by all means,
Mikel Arteta, Fabio Vieira,
Smith Rowe, Kai Havertz, Odegaard.
You do your rotating eights.
You have all of that.
But I think some games,
we just need guys that are 30.
And I'm going to listen.
Havertz does not convince me.
You know, yes,
he does stuff off the ball.
I'm not convinced.
I wasn't convinced before it.
My thing was more belief in Arteta.
You could see what Timber
brings to the table.
You can see what Raya
brings to the table.
Evidently, you can see Declan Rice
brings the table and more.
With Havertz, when we signed him,
I was more of the belief.
You know what?
It's scary.
I don't really want you
at the football club.
I don't see how,
in comparison to them other players,
you get us closer to Manchester City.
But Arteta,
if this is what you want to do,
everyone can make mistakes.
But I believe in what you're doing.
But again, it's looking shaky,
really and truly.
And for me, I think, you know,
if I'm Kai Havertz,
big up the Arsenal fans away from home,
because they would have given him
a vote of confidence.
I think it's players believe in him
and have an appreciation of
the one thing you can say with Havertz
is the pressing
and the defensive metrics,
which you should be doing and more.
And obviously,
if the world don't rate you,
but the man whose decision is,
is to start you week in,
week out and signed you for 65 million.
That's all you've got to look at.
But because of the way
Arsenal are at this moment,
I don't think we have time
to really be caring
about individual feelings.
It's the collective.
By all means, give Havertz all the support.
At the end of the day,
we need to beat Lens.
We need to beat City or get something.
And we've got a whole bunch
of football to play.
The collective comes first.
And I don't know Kai Havertz as a person.
He actually might be the most
confident person in the world,
or he might not believe in himself.
But I think when you're playing
for these top six sides
and everything that comes with it,
you know, if Havertz was to put down
two, three quality performances,
the same people, myself included,
are criticising him,
they'll be bigging him up.
And that will fluctuate.
I think he needs to find that head space,
you know, and just be
resolute in his mentality, really.
And that's the sort of guys
I want at the football club.
A bit like the man behind me,
you know, not Mikel Arteta,
of course, as well,
and that in Ivan Toni,
it seems like he's kind of that.
And I think Saka's got that mentality.
I think Martinelli,
from the moment he signed for this club,
has got that mentality.
I think Martin Odegaard's got that.
I think Granit Xhaka had that.
I think Declan Rice has got that.
I think Partey's got that.
I think Saliba and Gabriel got that.
Benjamin White don't watch football,
so I don't think he cares like that.
I think he's got that.
I think Ramsdale and Rayo have got that.
I think Tomi Asu's got that.
I think the bulk of the club have that.
Don't get it twisted.
You naturally, you know,
you're going to have moments
where you're more confident than others.
But it wouldn't surprise me
if there's a purple patch
from Kai Havertz at some point.
But, boy, as I said,
I don't know how Kai Havertz
gets us closer to City.
I know how the other three signings
in the summer did, really,
and Timber in his own way,
Raya in his own way,
and Declan Rice in his own way,
really and truly.
I don't know, man, if I'm honest.
Arteta has to die on the hill, bro.
You signed him.
You've got to make it work.
65 million down the drain.
Sing it with me, DG.
Like, bro, like, bro.
Watch when Kai Havertz scores at Anfield.
Watching Bellingham from Madrid.
I would love to see what Ethan
and where he can do.
Not saying they're the same.
Chill, bro.
Let Ethan, Miles,
big up Miles for signing a pro deal today.
Charlie Paterno, let that man there cook.
You know, Jude Bellingham,
these kind of players,
they're the exception of the youthful.
Like, I think some people
try to become footballers,
and God says some people
are going to be made footballers.
Throw Musiala in there,
and Pedri in that.
Chill, bro.
Let that man there develop,
and we'll see.
I don't think Pep could even
save Havertz at this point.
Hey, that's Champions League.
Havertz you're talking to, man, you know.
I have to be shameless.
I have to.
Hit the like button, everyone.
We'll get into the news in a bit.
I'm enjoying you lot's conversation.
Appreciate that, Ceej.
You've got to thank Google, though.
Why don't Arsenal follow up
on their interest and bid
for the following Guimaraes and Neto?
Boy, if you've got 100 million,
which is talked about
as Guimaraes' release clause,
then by all means,
but boy, really and truly,
it kills me to say it,
but would you necessarily
want to leave Newcastle
for Arsenal Football Club?
I believe yes and no.
We're kind of both, innit?
Or would you wait to the Madrids
and these kind of clubs are onto you?
Guimaraes seems like, you know,
an adopted Jordi.
He loves it, really,
if I'm honest with you.
We should have got him in, you know,
but our loss is their gain.
Just make sure the next Guimaraes
that comes on the scene,
you go and get that.
If you could have Guimaraes'
rice party, we're cooking.
Pep has nightmares over Havertz.
What would be a good performance
from Havertz?
The reason I ask is I don't think
he can play in that way.
This is what we need.
I would say fundamentally,
I shouldn't have to watch games
again to see what you bring.
As I said, I do appreciate Havertz,
the dirty elements of the game.
But, you know, you should be able
to do that in the middle of the park.
That's a minimum, really and truly.
You shouldn't necessarily
be praised for that.
And I think Arsenal fans,
including myself,
we kind of overplay on that.
So I would just say,
let me see you in the game.
You know, just look a bit confident.
Try a couple passes.
Try a couple dribbles.
Just grab the game by the balls.
It's as simple as that.
Of course, I would like goals
and assists as well.
And I think Havertz,
most importantly,
needs to get confidence.
But at the same time,
I would say, what is Kai Havertz?
Because football,
you have to be multifunctional.
You know, Tommy Assu can play
a bunch of roles.
Benjamin White, Timba,
Martin Odegaard, Fabio Vieira,
Trosser, Martinelli,
they can all play a couple of roles.
We can force it and even say
Bakayo Saka, because he technically
can play as a left back.
But you know what these guys are
and more.
With Havertz, I don't know.
Right now, you're playing
as a left-sided eight.
We've probably, throughout the years,
last season, I think
we was a bit more stable
and we looked as much of a threat
from the left-hand side
as the right-hand side.
This season, we're a bit more
right-hand centric.
But Havertz, what are you?
Are you a left-sided eight?
Are you a false nine?
Are you a 10?
What are you?
Because you can play all of them,
but what are you specifically?
And then we can talk about
playing everyone everywhere.
I don't know what he is exactly.
Are you concerned that we lost
away to Lenz and Newcastle
won at home to PSG?
Not necessarily, because what
Newcastle do, unless we play
them in the Champs, is irrelevant.
I think what it raises is that
every away game in the Champions
League, you don't know
what is to happen.
Of course, I side-eyed my team
as I was doing the watch along
and thought, yeah, it would have
been nice to have six points.
We just need to do what we're doing.
It could be better.
You know, Newcastle giving
a greater testament of themselves.
Two games, four points.
Group of death.
Not for them, is it?
We could be like United, staring
down the barrel of Europa League.
Obviously, it depends what we do
now, because now we need to be
near enough perfect in the
Champions League.
Big up, DG.
If we can get Ivan, Tony and
Bowen of West Ham as squad depth
in Jam, we could cook on all fronts.
They're saying everything from
50, 60 to 80 for Tony.
Bowen is going to cost an arm
and a leg, so I can't see that
happening in Jam.
If, God forbid, Saka is injured,
would you try Havertz on the right
wing? That was his natural
position.
I'm sure it's got to be an option,
but if Saka was injured tomorrow
and assuming Martinelli's dead,
wait, between Martinelli,
Trossart, Martinelli,
Trossart and Nelson, we've got
to figure out who plays on the
wing, really.
I'm not really trying to see
Havertz on the flank.
Larnes, apologies.
Apologies.
Nah, like DG, I'm talking about
beforehand.
We flirt with them players for
summers and all.
Then when the opportunity comes,
we just leave them.
And again, I share your
frustration because there's some
players that you just need to
grab.
Bruno Camaras was one of them.
I can't lie.
The way he's moving at West Ham,
Paqueta was one of them.
Eddie, you're doing good business,
but a couple more Brazilians,
could have been a bit more
Brazilians at the Emirates,
if I'm honest with you.
But yeah, to go back to Havertz,
just grab the game by the balls,
man.
Because if I'm honest with you,
whatever I think about Havertz,
when we signed him, I looked at
him in the same way I looked at
Zinchenko, Jesus and Odegaard in
that.
You lot are young slash mid-20s,
but you've got a wealth of
experience.
You lot are veterans coming into
this Arsenal team.
Kai Havertz, you know, was talked
about this guy from 18 years of
age, whatever you say, he's a
regular for his country and
probably looks the most at home
when he's actually playing for
Germany.
He's played at Chelsea, he's won
the Champions League, you've got
a wealth of experience.
I want you to be a leader.
I don't want your handheld.
And if I'm honest with you, I
like the fact that they gave him
the penalty.
But if I was Havertz, I'd be
feeling like a charity case, bro.
Like, pull up your trousers, put
your big boy pants on now and
let's get on with it really and
truly.
Because as much as football means
the world to me, so what?
You have a bad game, so what?
It's not like you're a doctor.
If you have a bad shift as a
doctor and you're operating on
someone, someone's dead.
You have a bad game, so what?
You lose three points, it's the
end of the world.
But at the end of the day, it's
a football game.
It's just a game.
It means the world to me, but at
the same time, it's just a game.
Get on with it really and truly.
If I'm completely honest with
you, Daniel Marlon return home
and be like, here's a curveball
for you guys.
You know, I'm more likely to
want to see Zinchenko as a left
eight, but I would say while he
plays there for his country, who
else is going to play there for
his country with the greatest of
respect to Ukraine?
And I don't know what it is, but
there's got to be a reason that
our Teta and Pep know more about
football than me.
There's a reluctance to start
Zinchenko organically in midfield.
I don't know.
Maybe it's the defensive aspects
because he does go to sleep in
that inverted role.
I'm not sure really and truly.
Elite talking points from you lot
people.
Keep them coming.
Havertz was wearing pink boots
and did the starter run up for
that pen.
What would we say if someone did
that in Sunday League?
Boy, if you do that in Sunday
League, you got a bag.
You have the bag, bro.
Havertz is also without the magic.
I disagree with that, you know,
because I obviously understand
with the language, style and
things that Ozil had, I understand
the comparisons, but I just feel
Ozil, he definitely could have
worked a lot harder, but I think
his running stats were there.
And I think with Ozil, you saw him
a lot more in the game.
If you know what you're looking
for, I don't really see Havertz.
You know, right now it becomes a
bit predictable.
And for me, one scary thing going
into the city game is there's too
many gaps.
There's too many gaps.
It's almost like three midfielders
are doing different things.
You know, with Kai Havertz and his
height, we're a lot more direct.
Go and watch the lens game again
from kickoff.
Raya kicks it straight into Havertz
making that forward run.
That's something I think Havertz
needs to keep in his game.
But when Havertz gallops forward,
you know, other guards kind of
having to do two rolls.
And then it's almost like Declan
Rice is deserted on an island by
himself, as you saw within the
second half.
More so, Declan Rice is not really
dribbling, but carrying the ball
forward.
I think there's too many gaps in
our midfield, really, if I'm
honest with you.
If Rambo made that same mistake,
he'll probably be on the bench next
game.
You weren't watching last season.
We need to play our strongest game
against City.
That means Partey and Rice, but
also when we're looking to put on
teams, I think you mean players
bring on Smith-Rowe on the left
eight roll.
I mean, with Havertz's form, I
hope he can get it going.
But it raises the question, like,
do you draw for, do you give
Smith-Rowe an opportunity?
Do you continue with Fabio Vieira?
Do you, you know what, just look,
just forget all of that for a
second.
And it's Partey, Rice, and
obviously other guard.
I believe that's our best trio.
I'm all for the experiment with
Havertz and Rice.
And obviously, you know, nine
times out of 10, I don't want to
say I don't want to see Rice and
Partey together playing week in
week out.
But I think you can afford to
only have one of them or whatever.
But I think that's our best trio
right now.
I think that gives us the, you
know, Rice can, you know, Rice
obviously does the right stuff.
Partey's sick and I don't think
gets enough credit for how he is
in the build up.
Other guard presses and stuff.
I think that's the most healthiest
blend that we have.
I think if it was a drink, that's
the sexiest cocktail on the menu
at the bar, if I'm honest with
you.
So it is what it is.
Have you heard from Fabrice
Mwamba lately?
You lot need to get onto him and
DM him, he airs my DMs.
Maybe you don't want to be on the
show anymore. Big up Fabrice, man.
He's been airing, man.
Havertz should not play in midfield
so slow and poor.
Rice has a back injury from
carrying Havertz in that midfield,
probably does.
Manzynchenko goes to sleep at
left-back too.
I prefer Kirill.
I mean, for what Zinchenko lacks
defensively, I can't lie.
I do think up until the Lens game,
he was doing OK defensively, but
I like Zinchenko running into
midfield, if I'm honest.
Yes, he needs to be a bit more
switched on and him and Gabriel
probably could talk a bit, but
provided Gabriel, you know, I
think Gabriel's our most
underappreciated defender.
He kind of becomes that left-back
and centre-back in build-up play.
I think when we're defending, he
doesn't get enough credit.
And actually, when we're trying
to force the issue passing, but
if Gabriel, Declan Rice and
Zinchenko can govern that space
a lot better, then I think we'll
be all right.
But it's about being a lot more
street smart.
I don't know Zinchenko's age,
looking at him now.
Of course, he can improve
defensively.
How old is Zinchenko?
He's 26, you know.
You can still improve and off the
ball is probably better than,
it's easier to improve, sorry,
than on the ball.
But at 26, as a left-back, if I'm
not going, if I don't, if at 26,
you're not a great 1v1 defender,
you're not, you're not a great
defender, then surely you're
never going to be.
So I kind of accept Zinchenko for
what he is.
And I would love to have Timberback
as well.
I like what Zinchenko brings to
the table, man.
Don't want to see you in the
second half at Anfield against
Trent again, though, really.
I would happily do a watch-long
with you, DG, one evening or
afternoon if I'm not working.
Big up yourself.
Without Zinni, we can't pass
through the lines.
He at least takes risks.
And that's true.
And I wholeheartedly agree.
But at the same time, if I'm
honest with you, yeah, it's not
that it's a cop-out, but I think
it's a cop-out because no matter
what Zinchenko's role is, yeah,
it's more so last season.
If Zinchenko's not there, should
we really be crying?
Oh, we can't progress.
We can't link up midfield and
defence and ultimately attack
because our left-back's not there.
It's not on, is it, really?
Even though I agree and think
you're speaking facts.
Would you keep Tommy for City
or bring back White?
And this is one where I'm happy
it's like stick or twist.
Honestly, I don't know because
if it goes wrong and you start
Tommy Asu, man are going to say,
why don't you play Benjamin White
and vice versa?
And it depends because obviously,
you know, with Tommy Asu, arguably
you could shift Tommy to left-back
because you know that space
that Zinchenko leaves behind or
in general, he's going to get
targeted, you know, but I don't
know, man, because Tommy Asu makes
you a bit stronger defensively.
But provided Saka plays, you know,
Saka's going to have to drop a lot
deeper to receive the ball of
He's not going to overlap and
provide an attacking outlet as
much as Benjamin White, you know,
for what he might give you in a
bit more defensive stability,
especially winning the first and
second balls over the top.
And maybe between him, Gabriel
and Saliba becoming an
unorganic three that could kind of
help with the threat of Harlan
and whatnot.
And if they go with Jeremy Doku,
again, you probably want Tommy Asu.
But I do believe while we've got
to be switched on defensively,
the best form of attack is defense.
The best form of defense is
attack apologies.
And as much as we've got to respect
we have to go for it, really.
And so if Benjamin White's fit for
me as the player, if I'm honest
with you, I think we're getting
clocked with Zinchenko inverting
when it works, it works.
But most teams just know to get in
behind. And if Gabriel doesn't
clear up, it's consistently a
problem. Our tech needs to focus
on finding a solution.
And if a left back is pivotal for
our build up play in midfield,
that's a huge problem.
Amen. Maybe if Timber was fit,
it'd be a different conversation.
Man, then we'll say they want
Kirill then complain when he ain't
running forward and putting in
stinking crosses on the wing.
You can't, you know, football fans
can't be pleased of all teams in
it. No one can be pleased.
It's unfortunate.
We should play have us in the same
position as Leverkusen as they
played a 4-3-3.
I mean, Mikel Arteta is going to
have to work it out.
You signed the man.
We're suffering in midfield because
Havertz is not progressive.
Fans only rate Havertz because he
has good short passing and tackling,
which should be the minimum for an
Arsenal player.
It should be minimum of everyone,
really, if I'm honest with you.
How Saka, by the way, has been
called up to the England squad.
And truthfully, we won't know until
Sunday or until Mikel Arteta gives
his press conference.
Tommy for his national team as a
I wouldn't say he's not a right
back. I just feel in what we're
trying to do as a football team,
I think the game's kind of what
we're doing is kind of leaving
Tomiyasu.
You know, I think Tomiyasu, if he's
going to play fullback, obviously,
there's games we can get away with
it. But I think Tomiyasu is somewhat
of a finishing fullback.
And what I mean by that is let's
just assume it's a close game
against City.
It's 2-1.
It's the last 20 minutes.
You know, we need to just shut up
shot. You draw for Tomiyasu and
they're not going to take risks.
I think that's kind of Tomiyasu's
role. And I feel, as I said before,
the natural progression of Tomiyasu
right now is probably to be a
centre-back in Arsenal's team,
really, because he, you know, I do
think he's relatively ball-footed.
I do think he gives it a good goal.
I do think he could have scored
against Larnes.
But yeah, he's too much of a
conservative player if I'm honest
with you. I think playing him left
back, you kind of less rely on him
in build-up play and he can kind of
do his thing.
But it is an interesting one, really.
And it's a game where you would love
to have Timber fit, really and truly,
if I'm honest with you.
But it's always the players that
are not fit that are the saviours.
City got injuries.
We've got injuries.
Probably every team in the Premier
League's got some injuries or some
players struggling physically.
So we're going to have to get on
with it. There's no excuses, really
and truly. Injuries are not unique
to us, really.
So we knew that we were going to
have a more congestive calendar
list. We've been dealing with
injuries, really, off the back of
pre-season since the start of the
year. It is what it is, really
and truly. Keep your thoughts coming,
people. But with that, you know,
I just want to make sure that we
cover what we need to cover, as
well, of your conversation.
I'm getting too hung up in it.
As you know, Bukayo Saka has been
named in the England squad despite
injury worries. Southgate has called
him up, as has Bowen and Sterling
people. So we're going to have to
see. And obviously, Eddie Nketiah,
Ramsdale, Declan Rice and Saka have
all been called up.
It's a shame for Benjamin White.
I think, you know, I can't really
complain with the England squad.
I think Levi Colwell deserves it.
Obviously, I'm a bit surprised
Nketiah got another call up, but
I'm not surprised, really.
But yeah, it is what it is.
You know, Madison deserves it.
Been in red hot form, to be fair
with you, as has Gallagher.
Interestingly, Henderson, even
though he's playing in the Middle
East, Calvin Phillips, I mean,
doesn't get a game, really, does
he? But you always knew Calvin
Phillips and Maguire were always
going to get called up, really.
So it is what it is in that regard.
But as I said at the start, from a
selfish Arsenal point of view,
Benjamin White gets to save his
legs. And you can see the England
squad in front of me. Big up Bowen,
because he's been one of England's
most informed players.
On Saka's injury, in the aftermath
of the Lens game, people, he said
he tried, Arteta said, he tried to
back it with the ball in the first
half and felt something.
It was something muscular and he
was uncomfortable to carry on.
So we had to take him off.
We don't know anything more than
that. Obviously, it was a big,
it was big enough to not allow him
to continue to play the game.
And that's a worry for us.
He then said, I have no clue.
I don't know.
Obviously, you know, Saka's been
called up to the England squad
indirectly. England's medical team
and Arsenal's medical team must
have had some dialogue about the
severity of Saka's injury.
There are some rumours on social
media that he'll face a late
fitness test in the build-up to
the City game, but we never know.
I'm a neutral supporter when it
comes to football. Dan, I never
knew that. So big up yourself.
Where can we exploit City DG?
Do you see any weak points?
That's a question I should have
asked the City supporters.
I don't think City look that
solid defensively, so get at them.
If I'm honest with you, I think
there's a lot of holes.
Obviously, Tomi Asu regretted his
chance that he missed. Big up
Tomi Asu against Lens.
Forgive me for mispronunciation.
You know, I can't say these
names, but despite speculation as
to whether he'll still be Arsenal's
women manager, he signed a new
deal. Big him up for that one.
So that's him. Miles Lewis-Skelly
has signed his first pro deal.
Let this man develop, but I think
between him, Ethan, Charlie
Patten or Coles of Dewberry, we're
cooking, really. And I want to see
this man make some appearances for
Arsenal at some point, really.
And big up Sago Junior for doing
that. And obviously, young Miles
is over the moon. 17 years of age,
signed his new deal. So probably
the focus of his focus at the
moment is probably, you know,
trying to make it.
Arsenal probably get his driving
license if he hasn't got that
already, really and truly.
And so, yeah, Romano and Saliba
said there was a great stat posted
yesterday about Saliba having the
highest Premier League win
percentage of any Arsenal player
ever. And I'm not surprised.
Honestly, Saliba is fantastic.
He was already shining that on loan
at Marseille. Then last season and
this season, he's a top, top player.
He's considered one of the best
centre backs in the world in the
industry. Arsenal are happy with
him. Great that we signed into a
new deal. And yeah, man, I do think
one day, you know, he'll be sold
for big money to Real Madrid.
Odegaard has said on what elements
he believes are the most important
in creating a successful team
environment. For sure, you have
to fight for each other. For me,
that's the most important
ingredient. You have to work for
yourself, but also for your
teammates. You have to stay
together every single day.
He's also spoken about how him and
Saka live near each other and they
link up to watch games, which
obviously, if you've got a
brotherhood off the field, it's
going to correlate on the field.
Even more so in today's football,
you see that the team unit needs
a function a lot more than in the
past. I think there was more room
for individuals in football
previously compared to now.
And in the modern game, you can't
do anything if you don't have all
11 players absolutely working
their socks off. Maybe a few
years back, you had room in the
team for one or two luxury players.
But in today's football, that is
just impossible. You need
the whole team working, the whole
team pulling the same weight and
the rest of the squad as well,
the staff to all do their best
and work for the team.
For me, that's the key to success
in the modern game. Fair enough.
Saliba's spoken about last season.
He said it was painful watching
his Arsenal team. And to be
fair with you, I saw this tweet
online, you know, people get at
Mikel Arteta for injury problems,
but he did not play Saliba where
it was clear that he was somewhat
fit. He didn't really, he didn't
risk him last season. But let's
see what the big man has said,
really. Of course, it was really
painful because I watched my team
play every game, the most
important of the season, and I
was not, I was not able to play.
Of course, it hurt me, but
injuries are part of football.
And now it's a new season.
Hopefully I won't be injured
again. Amen. I could have helped
my team to win maybe the Premier
League, but you never know.
Now it's a new season. We were
first for the season and at the
end, we finished second. Every
game is so important. We try to
win every game to win the Premier
League. True. Mikel Arteta has
been nominated for September
Manager of the Month. I reckon
Posta Cogli wins that. Rye has
been nominated for Save of the
Month after his save against
Spurs, really. So big him up for
that. Pep Guardiola is in
bullish mood in relation to the
game against Arsenal people.
So yeah, people, I don't even
want to read that right now
because let's just focus on what
we need to focus on. As you know,
Saka is give or take with his
injury crisis. We don't know if
he'll be available on Sunday,
but we'll have to see. Saliba has
been called up to international
duty with France, by the way.
Smith-Rowe to consider Arsenal
future over lack of minutes. He
made his first start last
Wednesday against Brentford,
which has been 499 days since.
So Aston Villa, Brighton and
Newcastle allegedly are keeping
tabs on the 23-year-old people.
We'll have to see. Only way to
win against City is the counter-
I think you have to pick your
moments when to counter-attack,
but football's left that really
and truly. You can't just sit
back for 80-odd minutes, 90-odd
minutes and just pick your moment.
You have to kind of go toe-to-toe
really and truly and somewhat
shell-shock the opposition.
So we'll have to see. We all know
Smith-Rowe is struggling for
minutes. Hopefully he starts to
get some minutes now. 90-minute
understands Smith-Rowe, who has
scored one goal in three
appearances for the England side,
has ambitions of making Southgate
squad for Euro 2024 and is
desperate for more first-team
opportunities this year. As such,
the 23-year-old will assess his
options if he does not see an
increase in game time at Arsenal
prior to the January window.
And I hear that, you know,
Arteta has said he's not fully
fit, but we have our struggles
and I think between him and
Fabio Vieira, if you're not
going to go Partey, Rice and
Underguard, I think he needs to
get game time. And you know,
the left wing with Trossart not
looking back to his best,
Martinelli, I don't know when
you're back, that could be
something for Smith-Rowe.
Aston Villa, who have made
concrete attempts to sign
Smith-Rowe in the past, remain
interested in him, while
Brighton and Newcastle United
are also monitoring the
situation. There's a
possibility Smith-Rowe's
contract runs until 2026 could
be allowed to leave on loan in
the second half of the season.
If you're not going to bring in
a midfielder, I'm not for that.
Apparently, he said, I've
changed a bit of my mentality
just to go for it. I've not
really got anything to lose.
I've tried to change that
inside me. I used to have a lot
of doubts. I used to question
my confidence at times, but now
I'm really strong. I am really
feeling really fit and I'm
taking that into now. The
gaffer has really helped me
with that. He has helped me
through my injury and often
pulled me for chats about how
I can be mentally stronger.
I tried to support the boys as
much as I can when I couldn't
help them on the pitch. It was
really tough, but I'm stronger
now. He said, when I heard the
supporters cheering on my name
in the Champions League, it was
a really proud moment for me
and my family. It's been hard
sometimes not coming on and
sometimes you're disappointed,
but this is life. This is
football. You have to keep
going. Mature words from him
once again. Newcastle and
Aston Villa are monitoring
Emile Smith-Rowe, allegedly,
and also West Ham. I mean, if
you want to give us Bowen or
Paquetta or something, maybe you
could take Smith-Rowe on loan
really and truly. I'm all for
that, people, if that was to be
the case. Again, not just
Smith-Rowe, but a lot of players
will probably consider their
game time in January. You'd
imagine Cedric Buss is out.
Apparently, we could be signing
another Timber. Arsenal,
Liverpool, a man united among
Premier League teams, impressed
by Quentin Timber, who is the
twin brother of Timber. He
plays in midfield and he's the
second final player we've been
linked with after being linked
with Santiago Jimenez, who said
he would love to sign for Real
Madrid. Allegedly, scouts from
Arsenal, Liverpool, City,
United and Spurs are all
monitoring the twin brother of
Duran Timber, so we'll have to
see, people. The 22-year-old who
is capable of operating in
various midfield roles and has
so far registered three assists
and one goal in seven
appearances. I'm sure Timber
would want his brother there
and it'd be easier for his
family, for mum and dad to be
able to watch both of them
play if they're in the same
home, really. Scouting doesn't
mean you're moving for him. I
would say City are probably on
the lookout for midfielders.
Liverpool are probably on the
lookout for a midfielder.
United, Spurs and us as well.
Scouting doesn't mean you're
moving for him. Scouts could be
there to watch other players.
Scouts could be there to run the
rule over him and decide if
he's good enough or not. He's
also drawn interest from
Atletico, Dortmund, Monaco and
Napoli as well, people, so we'll
have to see. For what it's worth,
people, he said, yes, for sure,
in the future, of course, it'd
be nice to be able to take such
a step, but that, of course,
starts the day at final. This
season, I want to show beautiful
things and we'll see what the
future brings, but that would
certainly be nice. Yes, he said
back in August, people.
Ivan Toni, apparently Spurs are
now the favourites as he feels
it's time to move on from
Brentford. I mean, why he wanted
to sign for Tottenham Hotshire?
I don't know, people. He's
valued at 100 million. He's been
linked with anything from 50 to
60, all the way to 80 and now
100. Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal
are among the sides linked with
him. I personally think there's
an admiration for Toni, but I
don't think we're going to do it
in the summer. I mean, we're
going to do it in January. I
think we'll wait till the summer
to go and look for someone. He
played in a behind closed doors
friendly for Brentford's under
21s and as you know, he is back
in training, people, so we'll
have to see exactly what's going
on. Could it be worth staying at
Brentford because you've got the
Euros that you want to be in
contention with and you've got,
not that I think Eddie's better
than him, but you've got Eddie,
Oli Watkins, Harry Kane, you've
got a bunch of stuff. The Silver
Twins 2.0, if you know, you know.
Odegaard, Saka, not going to lie,
they sometimes hog the ball. They
need to try to play basic, give
and go and Odegaard rarely passes
to the left wing. Madders passes
to both wings often and keeps the
opposition guessing. I can
imagine that both bros playing
for us. It'd be lit, innit?
Haaland been out of form lately.
You know what that means, boy?
Out of form, Haaland is still
Haaland, isn't it? It's still
scary. Like, Haaland is scary
and Gabriel and every, in fact,
the whole defence, Gabriel,
Saliba and everybody are going
to have their work cut out
really and truly. So we're
going to have to see. Pedro Neto
allegedly is interested in
joining Arsenal from Wolves.
But again, money talks and the
Wolves want to lose him
mid-season, especially with the
way he started this year,
coming back from his injury.
I don't know. Let me know your
thoughts, people. Arsenal target
Pedro Neto would be interested
in quitting Wolves for a club
challenging for honours,
allegedly. Wolves are unwilling
to let the 23-year-old leave
in January, people. So again,
normally, you know, if you go
to a shopping mall or you go
online, normally January,
there's sales. There's not
really that in January.
January is a reactive market.
In an ideal world, there would
be nothing in January. No
manager would want to buy or
sell because you would have
done everything you needed to
do in the summer. January is a
by-product of obviously
injuries, players not happy
about game time, failure to do
certain things in the summer,
et cetera, et cetera. We've
been linked with him back to
his days at Braga and Lazio,
et cetera. It is believed the
deal in January could be hard
to do, but a well-placed source
has told Football Insider that
more clubs could join the race
for his signature if the
electrifying winger's form
continues. He's been linked
with a couple of teams in the
Prem and aboard people. Sources
say a move in the summer of
2024 could be more likely with
Wolves still in financial FFP
trouble. So we'll have to see
people. We'll take a huge offer
and he's contracted until
2027. Did he not sign a new
deal not too long ago? And it
seems like he's put his
injuries behind him. Obviously,
if we were to sign him, I'm
sure a lot of us would be
talking about him versus Saka
on the right-hand side, but
he's excelled on the left-hand
side this season, really. And
his end product isn't the best.
He's got 12 goals and 17
assists in 118 times for Wolves.
But this season, I think he's
done quite well in the seven
games, eight games he's played.
So it's kind of lit, really.
El Nene said we've got enough
depth to do what we're doing.
I'm not going to read that for
you lot. What is this? We've
been linked with Rabiot. I mean,
it's a lazy day. Apparently,
Sane could leave Bayern Munich
next summer with Barca and
Madrid likely destination. So
I'm sure a lot of you cue the
Arsenal rumours to be phased on
or right at Bayern Munich
recently. The final striker,
Santi Jimenez, said he'd be
delighted to play for Real
Madrid. I mean, I'd be delighted
if he signed for Arsenal.
TalkSport are basically saying
that we're interested in Neto
again and says Boeing is on the
radar of Premier League clubs.
Ollie Watkins is ready to make
a smart career decision. We've
been linked with him before.
He's in talks to sign a new deal
and he's previously been linked
with Arsenal. So we're going to
have to see exactly what that is
going to be saying, people, but
that seems to be everything in
the current news. Don't forget
on Sunday and hour before
kickoff, we're doing or better
yet, we're beginning our watch
along for Arsenal versus City.
The link is being pinned.
So check that out. I think
Liverpool are rumoured to be
after Neto. He's been linked
with Liverpool, United, Chelsea
and Spurs. If Arsenal can't beat
City this Sunday without Kevin
De Bruyne and Rodri then forget
about the title. I think it's
deeper than just them two, but I
do believe if we can't beat them
in the Premier League without
them two, then I don't think we
ever can. It's been like 15
games. Surely it has to end.
If you told me in 2004 when I
was in year four that City would
be doing what they're doing and
we would have such a record
against them, I'd look at you
like you're mad. But to be
fair, if you told me Spurs
would ever finish ahead of
Arsenal, I'd say the same thing.
But it's funny how life comes
full circle, isn't it, really
and truly? So it's an
interesting debate, really, if
I'm completely honest with you.
But yeah, people, I don't want
to waste any of you lot's time
with it being 56, 57 minutes in.
We've spoken about Arsenal
Lens. We've spoken about the
news. We've spoken about general
things. As usual, it's a pleasure
to be here, people. I hope you
lot enjoy what's left of your
morning, day, afternoon and
night. Thank you very much for
your Super Chats, your talking
points. Some of you lot that
just listen while you're getting
on with your jobs. It's honestly
a massive thank you, man. That's
all I can say, really. I'm very
appreciative of everything and
all the support you lot give me,
whether you're on YouTube,
Twitch or Twitter. And we'll
link up again. Make sure your
notification bells are on
because there's a bunch of
content to come over the weekend
and in the build-up to the
weekend. So yeah, man, you lot
stay safe, stay blessed. I'm out,
man.
