Hello everyone, I'm Thuan. Welcome back to my channel
I asked you guys what topic you want me to make a video about
I received a lot of messages and many interesting topics
I will arrange them to make a video
One of you asked me
Mom, why do you have to stay up all night? My baby is already 32 weeks old
Many moms are interested in this topic
How can I sleep all night without having to stay up all night to breastfeed my baby
So in today's video, I will share with you guys
my experience of breastfeeding my baby when I was 5 and a half months old
My baby didn't cry at all
Why do I have to breastfeed my baby?
As you all know, newborn babies usually wake up at night and breastfeed
about 2-3 times depending on the baby's needs
However, some babies can sleep all night without having to wake up at night
from 2-3 months old
Besides, some babies like my friend's baby
can wake up at night and breastfeed at 2-3 months old
It's normal for newborn babies to wake up and breastfeed at night
However, when the baby is 2-3 years old and still wake up at night
it may be due to the baby's habit
The baby wakes up not because of hunger, but because the baby is used to waking up at night
This will affect the baby's sleep and the baby's mother's sleep
According to some documents I have read,
experts say that it is not necessary for the baby to eat at night
When the baby is able to store enough energy during the day
waking up and breastfeeding at night will often form a night habit for the baby
This will affect the baby's amount of food during the day
as well as affect the baby's sleep at night
and also cause problems with the baby's digestion
However, there are some opinions that
giving the baby breast milk directly will increase the bond between the mother and the baby
so breastfeeding early is not necessary
Breastfeeding depends on the decision of each family
Because each baby is a different body, there will be very different needs
Only the mother can understand which is the best choice for both mothers
For me, I agree with the point that
when the baby is able to store enough energy during the day
giving the baby a long night's sleep will help the baby sleep better
to stimulate the development of high levels of brain
At the same time, the mother's sleep and night's sleep will be greatly improved
So when is the right time to breastfeed the baby?
According to the documents I have read,
most babies from 4 to 6 months old
are able to store energy and sleep for a long time
from 4 to 6 hours without having to wake up
Of course, this time will also depend on each baby
Some babies are born earlier, some babies are born later
and some babies are able to sleep longer
My baby has been able to sleep for 3 months
for 7 hours without waking up
So at night, I only breastfeed once at 2am
But at this time, I am still not in a hurry to breastfeed the baby
because I see the baby is still hungry
When I wake up in the middle of the night, I see that the baby's stomach is very full
so I know that the baby is very hungry
I asked the doctor about breastfeeding and when is the best time
The doctor told me that if I want to breastfeed the baby
I should do it at the age of 6 months
Because at this time, the baby starts to eat slowly
Breastfeeding the baby will help the baby to focus on eating better in the morning
At the same time, at the age of 6 months, the baby will start to have teeth
So breastfeeding at night will avoid the risk of tooth decay
So I decided to choose 6 months
which is the time when the baby will stop breastfeeding
If I want to breastfeed the baby at night
I will have to breastfeed the baby at night for more than 5 months
In the document I read, it was also mentioned that
breastfeeding breast milk and formula milk
can be breastfed early at night for about 6 months
However, for direct breastfeeding
breastfeeding at night at the age of 1 year
So for direct breastfeeding
if you want to breastfeed the baby early at night
Back to how I breastfed the baby
It took me exactly 1 week to breastfeed the baby
before the age of 6 months
I changed the time of breastfeeding at night
and reduced the amount of breast milk in the bottle
so that the baby would not want to breastfeed on Saturday
As I shared earlier
from about 3 months, the baby only breastfed once
at 2 am
so I had to breastfeed the baby at night
and let the baby lie on the lap
for a while
until the baby was 5 months old
I started to change the time of breastfeeding
from 2 am to 12 am
without waking the baby up
This breastfeeding is called dream feeding
which means I breastfed the baby while he was sleeping
This way, I added more energy to the baby
so that he could sleep until the morning
and not have to wake up to breastfeed at 2 am
On Monday, I continued to breastfeed the baby
but I increased the time of dream feeding from 12 am to 11.30 am
At the same time, I reduced the amount of breast milk in the bottle
to 30 ml
Normally, every night, the baby would breastfeed about 160-180 ml
I reduced the amount of breast milk in the bottle to 30 ml
On Tuesday, I increased the time of dream feeding
from 11.30 am to 11.00 am
so that the baby could sleep earlier
At the same time, I reduced the amount of breast milk in the bottle to 30 ml
On Tuesday, the baby slept until the morning
and did not wake up to breastfeed
On Wednesday, I increased the time of dream feeding
from 10.45 am to 15.00 am
and reduced the amount of breast milk in the bottle to 40 ml
On Thursday, I reduced the amount of breast milk in the bottle to 100 ml
On Thursday, the baby slept until the morning
but I was hungry
so I fed the baby immediately
and increased the amount of breast milk in the morning
On Thursday, I increased the time of dream feeding
from 10.30 am to 15.00 am
and reduced the amount of breast milk in the bottle to 30 ml
On Thursday, I increased the time of dream feeding
and reduced the amount of breast milk in the bottle to 40 ml
The next morning, the baby woke up early
and I fed him early
and increased the amount of breast milk in the bottle in 3 days
On Friday, I stopped feeding the baby
and waited until the baby woke up
and was hungry
At this time, the baby woke up at 1.30 am
and I fed him 40 ml
The next morning, the baby slept until the morning
and I increased the amount of breast milk in the bottle in 3 days
On Saturday, I stopped feeding the baby
and waited until the baby woke up
At this time, the baby slept until the morning
and I fed him 40 ml
and waited until the baby woke up
After that day, I stopped feeding the baby
