Hi and welcome to our channel, the best place to learn how to use and master Canva.
Today we have a special tutorial because I'll show you how to create an Instagram puzzle,
how to download it and how to split it.
This has been one of the most requested videos in a while,
so I'm really happy to be here today giving you this tutorial.
And all the tricks that I'm going to show you today are free,
so you can follow this tutorial if you have a Canva free account or a Canva pro account.
And make sure you watch until the end so you don't miss
any of the tricks that I'm going to show you today.
So are you guys ready for this tutorial? Let's go to my computer.
Okay, so here we are on my computer and the first thing that we are going to do
is to know the size of our grid or our puzzle.
So the regular size of an Instagram square format is 1080 by 1080.
So I'm just going to multiply this number by three
because we're going to create a puzzle of nine posts or a puzzle of three by three.
So we are going to create a post that has these dimensions.
So 3240 and now we are here on our Canva account.
I'm going to use this link or this button that says custom dimensions.
And then I'm going to include here our width and our height.
So both are going to be 3240 pixels and then create new design.
Okay, so we can actually start from a blank page
or we can also go and use one of these templates that we see here.
It will be nice also to use one of them because we can start with a color palette already,
some elements that we might use on our design.
So you can use both options.
But before starting, what we are going to do is to go to the file menu
and select show rulers and then show guides.
Okay, so first what I'm going to do is to set some guides before designing.
So to do this, I'm going to elements and I'm going to try to find a grid.
Let me type grid and I think this one is difficult to find.
I may need to scroll down quite a bit, but I'm trying to find the one that is nine squares.
So three by three because this one is going to help me create my grid.
So where is it?
It's here.
Oh, I almost missed it.
So what I'm going to do to create my guides is to click on top of the ruler,
any of them, the top or the one on the side,
click and then I'm going to drag my mouse while holding my click.
So I'm just going to drag the second one
and I'm putting my guides right on top of the white line.
So you can see here I missed this one.
And let's do the same vertical guides.
Okay, so somewhere here.
So now that we have our guides, we can click again on the grid and delete it.
So because we have our guides activated, we can see them here.
And this is going to be useful because like this,
it will be easier to see what is going to be inside each of our posts.
But because we're going to be designing a puzzle,
we need to have a bigger view and see what is going on in all the puzzles.
So let's go back to find.
I'm going to click on show rulers because we don't need them anymore.
And now let's start designing.
I'm going back to my Canva homepage.
I was going to say my Hamba, but let's go to the homepage.
I'm going to templates and then Instagram post.
I have one design already in mind, which is this one.
I'm going to click on it and use this template.
Now what I'm going to do is to select all the elements,
Ctrl C and then go back to my puzzle document and Ctrl V or Command V.
And then I'm just going to stretch these elements so they fit my puzzle somewhere here.
Then you can just keep adjusting, you know, like you can move your elements,
you can make them bigger or smaller the way you prefer.
Actually, this is, it depends on each of us.
It doesn't really matter.
As long as it looks nice and it looks aesthetic, it's going to be fine.
So yeah, just wanted to show you here on the template size.
All of these templates are free.
You may find a couple of them that has a crown.
These templates are for Canva Pro users, but the one that I used is completely free.
And yeah, before I forget, I also want to mention that
if you like the design that I'm going to be creating today,
you can download the puzzle later.
I'm going to leave the template in the description of this video
in case that you like it and you want to use it.
So yeah, let's keep working on this design.
I want to add some more elements.
So let's go here to elements and I'm going to search for frame blob.
And I'm just going to add a couple of these frames on some of the squares.
So I'm just going to be creating some posts that have images
and then some other posts that have text.
So it can be a quote or, you know, like an interesting title,
something that gets people's attention for them to stop scrolling and watch your post.
OK, so I have all my images here, my frames, not the images yet.
And I'm going to select all of them.
I just pressed shift and then started clicking on my frames.
And now I'm just going to click on duplicate.
And I have a duplicate of the frames.
I'm just going to leave them on top of the other frames
and move them up and to the left just a tiny bit.
And then I'm just going to change the color of the frames that are behind the new frames.
So I'm just going to select them and click here on color.
And change the colors.
Let me see here.
So I'm just going to do the same with all the frames.
And now what I'm going to do is to add some photos.
Here on the left hand side, you will see the photo tab.
And then I have some recently used photos.
So I'm just going to drag them to my design.
You can type here on the search box.
If you have something specific in mind, you can just go there
and try to find something that fits your design.
So let me just, I guess maybe this one will look better.
And if you want to adjust the photo that is inside the frame,
just double click and then you will be able to adjust the photo.
So it looks better on the frame.
Okay, I think I'm happy with this photo selection.
And I will still keep adjusting a little bit.
Maybe change some colors.
Let me go here to this color palette.
I will see now that I have all these photos on my design.
Maybe I can grab a couple of colors from the photo colors and keep adjusting.
Just a tiny bit.
And let me change this color here.
Something like this maybe can work better.
And I think if we use the color of the photos,
we may have a more aesthetic look
because the colors are going to be matching your photos.
So that can look really nice.
So I think I'm going to leave it like this.
Now I'm just going to duplicate the text boxes.
To create some quotes.
And I'll be adjusting some other elements.
So at the end it looks nice.
Okay, so I'm almost done here.
And what I'm doing now is to add just a little, little tiny touch here.
And seeing how it looks, I searched in the elements section for dots.
And I found this texture here that I think it may look good
as we have some sections that look very, very white.
So I was thinking that maybe adding a little something
could make this design nicer.
So I'm just trying something here, you know.
If you don't like it, maybe you can just remove it.
Or you can play around.
So I guess I'm happy with this.
I'm just going to add another tiny touch here.
Change the color to white and then position this backward like this.
Maybe this one looks nice like this.
Okay, so I think I'm going to leave this design as it is.
I'm going to the navigation bar on top and click on download.
I'll select PNG and then download.
Okay, so now you're going to type on your navigation bar
findtools.com split-image.
Just type whatever you see here and then you will land on this page.
Here we are going to add our image.
So select file.
I'm going to select my puzzle over here.
And now I'm going to select.
Okay, so on the right hand side, you will see options.
How to split the image.
Let's go with both.
So we are going to create a grid.
And then here we're going to split it by quantity of blocks three.
And again, three.
So vertically, it will be three posts or three blocks.
And then horizontally, another three.
And then split image.
Here you will see download pieces or images.
So right now we just split our puzzle into nine different images.
And they are ready to be published on our Instagram accounts.
So here you need to pay a lot of attention and be super organized.
Because it may happen that if you don't pay attention
maybe you are going to post them in the wrong order.
And then the puzzle won't look nice on your grid.
So just make sure that maybe you rename each of the files.
And you know that this one is going to be the first one you are going to be publishing.
This is the second one.
This is the third one.
Four, five, six, seven, eight and nine.
Okay.
So I'm just going to be downloading these images into my computer.
And then I'm going to send them to my phone.
So I'm able to publish them on Instagram and show you the final result.
Okay.
So here is where you have to be super, super careful.
And when you are going to be posting your images to Instagram
just double check with your grid.
You know like the image or the design without cropping.
So you know, okay, so this is the first image.
Then which one is going after this one is this one and so on.
Because we don't want to mess this part up.
And let me just post all of this.
So this is the final result.
This is how the puzzle is going to actually look on your Instagram feed.
You are free to change everything you like.
You can add your images, your text, your colors, everything.
And you can actually also add some other elements.
I'm going to leave the template of this design
