What's up welcome hello, and how are we welcome back to trick tip Tuesday on a Wednesday today?
You're learning how to frontside shover. Let's get straight into it. Okay, so before you learn how to frontside shove
There's a couple things that I'm gonna need you to do first
Number one is I'm gonna need you to start cruising around the park
Get to know the board get to know the park get used to riding it and after you've done that you're gonna want to learn
How to ollie not necessary, but it's gonna help massively with the trick and possibly backside shover
There's not a lot of other stuff that you're gonna need for this trick so with that being said let's go one thing that
I will suggest though that always helps me is that if you're struggling to learn a trick go back and practice some manuals because these
Are gonna help your balance?
They're gonna help you get to know the board a lot better
And if you get good at these they're gonna make doing tricks while moving especially a lot easier now that you've done your
Prerequisites now that you've learned your manuals better what we're gonna do first is talk about foot position, okay?
So for the foot position we're gonna want to have one foot right in the corner of the tail
Pointing at a 45 degree angle so we get a nice little scoop backwards then with the front foot
We're gonna have it about halfway up the board and for some people that can't help to have your toes
Hanging off to give you a bit better of a scoop round when the board goes behind you okay?
So now that we've got our foot position
We're gonna focus on getting the form of the trick down for this
I'm gonna want you to practice it with one foot get used to spinning the board that way so you know what you're doing with
Your back foot, and then we're gonna work up from there
What I'm gonna need you to do is have your back foot right in the pocket of the tail like I told you to
Point it about 45 degrees for me this helps massively so 45 degrees pointing out that way
Not quite on the edge of the tail pretty about halfway down
Just like that right where my foot is here
And then what we're gonna do is we're gonna kick it that way and the board should do a little something like this
That's the form of the frontside shove it. We're gonna practice that as much as we can
I'll show you it from a full frontal just so you can really see how the board spins
See just like that see how easy that goes round it might take a few attempts
Maybe a couple of hours get the correct
Rotation for this trick and to get it to look natural and to come around and meet the other foot don't kick it too hard
Just enough to get the board around but a little bit of practice
And you'll figure out the best way to do it for yourself, okay?
So now that we've stood still we've got the form of the trick down nice and easy you've got that on lock
What we're gonna. Do is we're gonna practice doing it moving and landing it with one foot
What I want you to do is cruise around with your feet how I told you the beginning
front foot with the toes hanging off back foot at that 45 degree angle
Pop it just how you did with the form of the trick and then put this back foot on the floor and try and stop it
Spinning with the front foot, so it's gonna look a little something like this
All right see that looks easy enough practice that once you've got the form that shouldn't be too difficult to grasp
And then we're ready for the next step if you're struggling to keep the board to go straight
Or maybe your body's not staying straight
Think and focus on your shoulders these gonna mean a lot to you when you're cruising along you're gonna have your shoulders
Parallel to your feet on the board this means that they're basically in line of each other in case you didn't know
So what we're gonna. Do is have our feet just like we said practice the form just like I told you
Shoulders in line, and this should stop the board from going any which way that you don't want it to and you should have a lot
more control
And you should be able to get it just like that okay, so you've practiced the form
You've practiced getting that one foot on and you've done it a slight speed
Don't worry too much about how fast you're going because all you need to do is manage to get that one foot on once you've
Done that what we're gonna
Do is we're gonna try the hardest bit and that's committing to the trip to focus on everything that I told you feet in the correct
Position have your shoulders in line of your feet practice that form as much as possible
So you can easily get that board around 180 get that one foot on now
We're gonna practice jumping backwards a tiny bit just to get both our feet onto the board
This is definitely the scariest part of the trip when you do it perfectly you're not gonna need to jump back after a bit of
Practice you'll be able to keep the ball underneath your feet, but for now especially for me when I learned it
My board would always go behind me a little bit so to compensate for that
We're gonna jump backwards a tiny bit and to be honest this helps with learning how to commit because if you're just
Jumping straight up it can be harder to spot the board than if you know you're jumping backwards onto it
So with that being said this is gonna take some practice, but this is what I want you to do
Okay, so remember everything at once toes hanging off the edge slightly with that front foot back foot in that pocket shoulders in line
With your feet with your arms
I've always find it best to just chuck them down like this and then when you come up you've got a nice widespread balance
The only thing I'd recommend not to do with the arms is have them behind you because this is gonna cause you to go
You're gonna have no balance when you land with that being said just practice jumping back that tiny bit
And it should go a little something like this
This step is not gonna be easy this is gonna take quite a bit of practice
It's might take you a couple of hours a couple of days if you can't get it enough on the first day
Practice it loads and loads and loads then come back the next day and hopefully it should be a bit easier for you because sometimes
Tricks take time don't feel bad. It takes you longer than your friend learn it at your own pace and eventually you will get this
Trust me
Well with that being said guys. Thank you so much for watching
