The past few winters we've spent most our time around the beach and mostly wore swimsuits
because when you live in an RV, you get to pick your weather.
This year we decided to embrace winter and as we're building our RV park, we're going
to teach our girls how to build their own little home and maybe help them out a little
bit.
Oh s**t!
To prep, we made these.
Last night.
Boom.
We went to the store and got 144 11 by 9 pans.
We have no idea it's enough.
We don't think it is.
We have an idea of what we want to do.
This is going to be not your typical igloo.
Hopefully it works.
Oh yeah.
I guess we haven't even tried getting it out yet.
Here we go.
Yeah.
It took us about two hours last night to make all of these.
Cindy, what do you think?
Look at that.
How we first started was we filled them with water.
That was a process.
You can hook up a garden hose to a sink just by getting this attachment.
You're always making them colorful.
So colors that we used, we have pink, red, green, orange, and then we ran out of food
coloring, so a lot of them are yellow.
Today's igloo is going to be a little different.
It's not the ones you see all over the internet.
This is going to be for our little girls and they're going to help us build it.
We'll see if we can pull it off.
Blue, green, yellow, orange.
Thank you, Daddy.
First things first, we've got to make a circle, okay?
Okay.
How do we make a circle?
Go all the way in the ground.
Oh.
Yeah.
Good job.
Now, if we make the circle all around, how long is the line going to be?
100 feet.
Oof.
Maybe.
Do you know how to figure out the circumference?
Can you say circumference?
Circumference.
We realized that we need some tunes.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, is that so heavy?
Yeah, that's so heavy.
Okay, don't drop it.
Oh.
This is going to be awesome.
I don't know.
Let's give us a kiss.
I don't know.
Indy, do you think Santa's real?
No.
Santa is.
Let me bring you presents.
You hit it right here?
Whee.
Ready?
I'm ready.
Let me try.
Oh.
Hit it to Daddy.
What?
Atta girl.
Good job.
Can I do it right here?
Yep.
Good job.
Yeah.
Okay.
Orange.
Yellow.
Oh, no.
It's just after 5 o'clock, so it's getting dark.
Let me show you this real quick.
We talked about this in a recent video, but we're going to be using this a lot.
The plan is to power our internal lights, heat, and then we also have a little...
We're going to put it in there for like a fun...
But this is...
We've been using it all day.
It's at 86%.
We've been powering our music, now powering a light.
It also charges a cell phone up here if you want.
Wireless.
It has so many connections.
And tomorrow, we're going to set up the solar panel, which will just keep it charged and
Woah.
That does look so sick with it lit up.
Oh, my gosh.
We thought we'd bring out Frosty to add some flavor for the girls when they come out and
see this.
Look at this.
It's almost done, guys.
I say that, but it's still gonna take longer than we think,
but gotta get Frosty going.
74%, this thing is a champ.
Oh, it's working.
It's all right.
Good things take time.
Take your time, buddy.
Like three days.
Good things take about three days.
Yeah, like this.
I literally put my blood, sweat, not tears in.
Depending on when we end this, maybe tears at the end.
Frosty's loving it.
We got some ideas to finalize this
and make it better once we seal it off,
so make sure you stay tuned to watch that.
This is how we make the mortar.
Snow and water.
Grab it, perfect slush, and you just kinda...
Usually once you pour the water,
you kinda wanna mix it together,
so then it gets really slushy.
Oh, shoot.
What'd you do?
Here we go.
Oh, F.
Okay, this isn't working.
I need help.
The last piece.
All right.
Ooh, nice.
That is so cute.
That's awesome.
Yeah, it does.
Come on.
Oh, yeah.
We maxed out on outlets, by the way.
Four outlets on this side with the grill on.
Let's see.
63% from the last three days of using it.
Not bad.
This is so cool.
I can still go in here.
You want a dance party?
Yeah.
There we go.
Okay, so brought a little VHS TV out here.
These sleeping bags are rated for negative 25 degrees,
so let's try this out.
I've been using this thing all day.
There's four, four connections here.
We are using this thing up.
Okay.
By the way, if you have toddlers,
you should get one of these VHS movie TVs
because it's just so much better
because they put in the movie
and then they can't just like change through quickly
on the channels or watch the next video
and the next video.
It's just one movie.
Plus it's so small, they get distracted
and start playing with toys in the playroom.
So this is a TV that's in their playroom
and it's not that loud.
Anyway, this is gonna be fun.
Hopefully they like this
and this is a fun memory for them.
We'll see.
What?
No, it's not for me.
Okay.
This is a core memory.
Well done Nels.
This is what it's about.
Doing unique things that they'll remember.
And if they won't remember,
you take pictures and video.
This is fun.
You wanna sleep in here?
Amy's shocked she wants to sleep in here.
It's actually not bad.
Once you're in like the sleeping bag and stuff,
it's actually really nice.
Everyone say goodnight.
Goodnight.
All right.
So the truth is we didn't make it through the whole night.
Last night sleeping as a family.
That was on the agenda
and it got down to six degrees Fahrenheit.
I don't know what that is Celsius off the top of my head,
but we were warm.
The sleeping bags we have,
they're two separate thick sleeping bags
that combine for couples or in our case a family.
They're rated for negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
And with all of us in it, it actually was warm.
We were fine.
But we did have a ton of slush inside here.
I'll show you.
We had a lot of slush still up top here
that was still freezing and it was all mostly frozen.
But as you can see,
we have all these little icicles
and it was just dripping on us last night.
I think we're gonna attempt it again.
Just now there's no dripping
and dripping on our faces too.
So as you can see, so colorful, just amazing.
Got our solar still charging.
You can see it's bringing in 120 Watts.
We've been using it for a few days, just straight.
So now charging it up.
With this current sun right now,
it takes seven hours to charge us in full.
Again, that's just with one solar panel set.
You can do multiple to bring in up to 800
to where that would charge fully in two and a half hours.
So there's different kits you can get.
We'll put a link down in the description.
We've talked about this in previous videos.
We love it for emergency preparedness stuff
because you can just power it fully in the sun.
Super fun.
Now I think the kids are gonna play with it.
Hello.
Daddy will you marry me a baby?
With dad dad.
Hey!
