We're joined now by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee the host of Huckabee here on TVN who frequently visits Israel. Governor
Huckabee thanks for joining us. First your general reaction to the attack. Doug it's just heartbreaking. And what makes this so
awful is that these are atrocities that are being inflicted upon civilian population upon children upon women among the elderly.
And they're not just being kidnapped which they are. But there are many families whose homes are broken into and Hamas
terrorists are going in and literally slaughtering the families. I just learned a few moments ago that one of my close friends
from over 40 years who lives in Israel her niece is missing presumed either killed or kidnapped. And another friend whose son
has just been called up into the IDF and they have no idea where he's going. There is some irony. I was first in Israel. My
first time there was exactly 50 years ago. It was two months before the Yom Kippur War. Of course we didn't know that was about
to happen when I was there as a as a teenager. And for 50 years I've been going to Israel. But I've never seen anything like it
because there's never been anything like this. Let me just add this. The one big difference between this and what happened in
1973 is that in 1973 the attack came from governments from Egypt from Syria from Jordan. What's different is that this is a
terror group Hamas. And when the governments were fighting Israel and trying to take it over and they would have if they could
have they were at least trying to inflict most of the damage on military targets and on the military. There was of course a lot
of civilian deaths but it was not what they were primarily targeting. Hamas is primarily targeting civilian targets. They're
trying to kill innocent people. And this is disgusting. And I don't want to hear from anybody this. Well I hope both sides will
cease fire. That's not what we're dealing with here. We're dealing with people brutal savages who are intentionally inflicting the
most damage they can among people who have nothing to do with any conflict whatsoever. Oftentimes while shouting Alou Akbar
gratis God is great. The expression which is even adds to the horror of all of this. On that point I posted a video of a little
Israeli boy who had been taken captive by Hamas. And he is surrounded by Palestinian children and the adults who have taken him
captive are letting the little kids beat up on him. And the look on this little boy's face is one of profound terror and fear as
anyone could imagine. And I thought for a moment if you made this color video which is circulating on X as they say into a still
picture and you made it black and white and made it a little bit grainy it could very well have been mistaken for an image from the
Warsaw ghetto say in 1941 or 1942 or Auschwitz in 1945. This is repeating itself. Doug it is. And there there haven't been
atrocities like this since the Holocaust. Israel has been involved in wars ever since it was reform reformulated in 1948. They had
the war in 48 the one in 56 1967 1973. There have been numerous other skirmishes battles into fathers a host of conflicts. The
Gaza War of 2014. But what they have not had is the level of just cold blooded murder as we're seeing right now in Israel. And
that's why the entire world community of civilized people and I will say this if this is not condemned without hesitation then
whoever fails to condemn it has basically announced themselves not to be a civilized individual. It's simple as that. But we have to
hope and pray that the Israelis can not just go in and stop Hamas. They're going to have to retake Gaza and they're going to have
to once again govern it because obviously Hamas has done nothing but turn it into a poverty hole and have destroyed the lives
and livelihoods of the people who live there. And they've taught the children as you talked about in that picture. They've taught
them from the time they're taught to hate Jews and to think that it is an extraordinary honor to kill Jews. That's just inhumane.
It's disgusting. And it certainly is the kind of thing that the world should universally shun and condemn. Governor you you remember
as I do the unanimity of opinion after our 9-11 and how that quickly frayed over the several months to the point where we are now in
the United States a deeply divided country. Israel is a politically divided country. There are tremendous political battles there as we
see in our own country. And you know that the the international community will eventually turn on Israel as it seems to do
eventually. How does this play out over the next months. Israel is going to have to have the resolve that no matter what is said
about them or what is said to them and no matter what resolutions of insanity get passed in the United Nations and they will. Israel
is going to have to realize that they are in a fight for their existence. And it's not that Hamas has the capacity to topple the
nation of Israel. They don't. They are a terror organization. They're not a government but they have to make it clear that to
attacking their citizens in the manner in which they have been attacked will be met with the harshest possible consequences. And
Hamas must be destroyed because they only understand one thing brute force. They don't come to the table to sit down negotiate and
say yeah maybe we overdid that a little bit. We'll we'll behave. No they won't. They will not behave. They have publicly stated
that they want to destroy Israel and wipe it off the face of the map. That's exactly what Iran who is the funder of all this has
said. When someone continues to say they're going to kill you at some point you ought to start believing them and you ought to make
sure they don't have the opportunity. I sure wish the Biden administration would get on board with that particular philosophy which
you just espoused. But we shall see what course that takes. Governor Mike Huckabee really appreciate your time sir. Thank you.
Thank you Doug.
