📍 Neuschwanstein Castle & Munich, Germany | Euro Trip 2022

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel or if you're new here welcome, i'm brooke. I make travel diy and lifestyle videos today We are still in munich germany If this is the first of the europe vlogs that you're watching be sure to head over to my channel and watch the first few first And then come back to this one So we started the trip in switzerland and then we came to germany and this is our second full day in munich So, um right now it's about 7 15 a.m And we are getting ready to head to a castle. It's about a two hour drive away So we are having to head there very early A lot of the tickets here for museums are not just for the day, but they're for a specific time slot So you have to plan very accordingly um, the particular castle that we are going to was the castle that hogwarts, um was Modeled after or inspired by it was also the castle that sleeping beauty was um Um inspired by as well. Sorry. I am still waking up I am doing my best but I still want to pop in and give you guys a bit of a Morning update and kick off the video. I just curled my hair. I'm not brushing it out. My hair keeps falling out So no, not like the curls keep falling out. So Wow Just need to clarify the curls keep falling out So i've decided that i'm not brushing out the curls till we get there because again, we have a two hour drive so we're gonna just surely temple this bad boy and then um When we get there fix it So anyhow, good morning. I hope you're having a wonderful day and let's get going Okay, so we just got to the area Where we have to walk up And according to the website we had to be here an hour and a half early to make the journey up We found out when we got here It only takes about 30 minutes to walk up. So we are 15 minutes early for being an hour and a half early, which means We have a lot of time to kill so we might Might get some coffee at this little restaurant right here There's a lot of natural beauty around here. So I think we might explore I feel like an eskimo But i've learned we are covering the hair this time around You're not having a repeat of yesterday so we did not bring our hand warmers because Darren was convinced he was going to be warm I was like it's snowing here. We woke up or we woke up in munich And you know everything's covered in white and he's like no no where we're going. It's warm I was like, I don't know about all that So he was going to try to wear just a vest No jacket no, um beanie Just his vest and like a long sleeve shirt And I was like, I think you need to at least bring a jacket with you If you don't you if you don't need it, you don't need it. Guess what? The entire drive here. It just gets snowier snowier and snowier. Oh, there's snow the entire time we were here Oh, there's the bathroom And or the entire drive up And guess what he is happy that he has his coat And that he has his hat that's right Okay. Oh I think I see I don't know if this is the castle, but this is a castle. Oh, this is the other one Oh, this is the summer castle. Uh-huh I don't think we bought tickets to that one Look how cool this building is And then we found ourselves a little christmas tree This is a cute little snow covered path Definitely got to get a photo. Oh, no people are coming. I got to get a photo of that right now This is cute. They have a little outdoor beer garden for obvious reasons. It is closed as it should be Uh, well actually, you know what honestly they keep seating people outside in the snow I mean that would never happen in the us because we just can't handle it. They're built differently around here So actually that very well may open in a few hours So it looks like they have horse-drawn carriages that will take you up if you don't want to walk Big horses we're almost to the top and they have a stop here with a bunch of lockers And then right here is the actual castle So right now These are the groups that are going we are 10 55, so we're still quite a bit early You can barely see it with all the snow But it's there Our time has come. So we are making our way up the final part of the path fog's clearing out too Good Hopefully we'll be able to get some uh More clear images because so far as you can see The fog is thick Look how tall this is Oh my gosh Okay So we came up here a little early right now It is exactly 10 30 and we thought despite the fact that we were the 10 55 Um that we would be able to maybe get in early, but these things lock Until your exact time so all those people We're waiting out here until the clock turned 10 30 and then all of these illuminated As scannable and then you can scan in your ticket So if you guys do come here, i'm trying to arrive early to this area is not going to do you any good That's okay, though um Let's see what the view looks like from here And then this was where we came in from that entrance right there Then let's take a look at this view Oh, wow I mean you can't see beyond I can but the camera doesn't really pick it up. It just looks like a Foggy white but there are a bunch of trees back there Just a beautiful view of a snowy forest Okay here Yes, this is the kitchen. This is the first part But I don't see anything that says my friends are famous and then there are A lot of staff members here To recommend me Then off in the kitchen this is Where the this was the head chef's office. This is where he would write up the menus deliveries orders Everything like that So basically this is just for all his administrative. This is where the chefs and then it looks like this is where they store the pots and pans And then This i'm not quite sure about kind of looks like maybe a private kitchen for the staff versus This larger kitchen just for i'm preparing food for the castle So this is a replica Of the castle so this is where we came in and then In this courtyard right here To go in and then right here is where we scanned in and went through that door at the basement stairs And then we got to see just a little bit Of this section we didn't get to go up the tower and we didn't get to see any of these other areas They don't allow people in there and i'm going to give you guys a bit of a recap after this but Just for reference so you can see it So you can kind of see some similarities with Aurora's castle, but also so right here, I believe is If i'm remembering correctly, this is like where the extension like bridge would come in with hogwarts and this was the front So it was inspired by but not entirely modeled after Just finished the tour got a beer And darren got more of the hot wine and we are sitting in the cafe in the corner, so We sat here so we could get a view but it is still so foggy that There's not much view to be had Okay, so we're walking back right now look how many people are coming up So morning time is the best time if you don't want a huge crowd So now like on our way up remember we were the only ones on the path And now there are like dozens and dozens of people We are back in munich And now we are going to that beer hall that we tried to go to last night But we're unable to so let's see if we can get in now We just got to saint peter's church This church is older than the city itself And it's older than the first public clock So beyond just its religious relevance. There is also of course a historical significance as well so Let's go around to the front and see if we can get in. All right. Darren has finally found himself a side door access point That has been successful He's thriving we're breaking the rules and going somewhere we're not supposed to all right, let's see where it goes Guys we've been climbing for like six minutes And apparently we just passed someone and they said you're only halfway What? Why are there so many stairs? Where are we going? I don't even know. I don't even know the destination. Is it even worth it? So we finally made it to the top We are 14 stories up and actually This was something that we had wanted to do time to top the clock tower Um, but we had decided we didn't have time through our Accidental exploration we have found ourselves at the top anyway So this is actually great I would definitely say it is worth it But I think one of the issues was the fact that we didn't no no, we didn't realize that we were climbing up 14 Uh flights of stairs or 14 floors worth of stairs, um, because we didn't know where we were going Um, but again, it kind of worked out because we want to come here Anyway, look how high up we are i'm trying not to look down because i'm actually very scared of heights And i'm actually incredibly frightened that I might pass out so We're doing our best. Got my water Uh, oh my gosh the observation deck goes all the way around Wow, this is incredible It's a great view. Let me show you the view from this side So this is the view from that side note in the audio Darren trying to butter me up because he just made jokes about imagine falling off of this Do you have anything to say for yourself? I'm innocent. I didn't make jokes You know, I know in fact, you know, I think I caught it I think I caught it on camera so So we accidentally um Did two of the things on our list the two remaining things Okay, this hat is pulling up my eyebrows in a way that they don't actually go They're looking like they have like major pitches and they just don't Anywho, um, so we visited Saint peter's church and then we also went to the tippity top and got to see the entire christmas market How did you get up there babes? I showed you explain. No, I showed them. I showed them. They were part of the whole guided you up there Okay. Well, first off the only reason he guided us up there was because he thought he was trespassing That's the only reason you had any type of interest. Tell me i'm wrong. Tell me i'm wrong No, you're 100 right, but and so when I came down they already closed off tours to the top of the clock tower So the only way tour Yes, you have to pay and there's a tour and they already closed off by the time we got up there Snowflake straight to the eyeball. You're welcome straight to the eyeball Okay, so we suspect that you were supposed to pay for that tour which we did not do because we entered again through the exit this The snow is real. Okay, so we're in front of a christmas store So jim wants to go in i'm here for the christmas ornaments hearing him say he wants to look for them like music to my ears You know, okay, we gotta go Yes, look they have a little walnut Update they had nothing except for No, no, no, they had something But it would taken up brooks Luggage like half of it at least. I mean honestly would have been worth it. I would have had a leash. I'm gonna throw away $70 boots I mean honestly the nutcracker but it was a large nutcracker. You know what I mean? Like he was a good like he's good at three feet I wanted him I would have thrown away my boots for him Let this be on the record I was ready to throw away my boots to take him home Um, but anywho, it's freaking amazing I'm going this way. You want to get mexican? No, we're getting indian food So now we're gonna start voyaging over to indian food He knows that we have to get in we have to get indian food. We get indian food in every european country No, we're going oh, okay. So actually the Laverita walking the total opposite direction. Oh, are we okay? So this way, um, but that place so we Stopped in at one of their locations yesterday to grab a water bottle and it's basically a chipotle Okay, now we're going in. Okay, so I guess i'll be able to show you guys So it's basically like, you know Chipotle has all the food like ready in front of you and you just tell them what you want and you put it in But they have cilantro lime rice black beans pinto beans the fajita veggies, um Steak chicken pulled pork and they have like literally all of the toppings Everything is exactly the same like and then even the menu is a maroon with white writing I will show you someone went to the u.s. Went to chipotle and then came here and recreated it Okay coming live from the bathroom. So actually this one is a little more uppity And people are looking at me so it's too uncomfortable to get Video of the menu, but you're just gonna have to take my word for it Okay, this is basically a copycat chipotle and i'm not mad. I'm here for it. Chipotle is bomb diggity. But anywho, um See you guys at the indian restaurant Okay, we have found The indian restaurant. It's called sitar Oh, let's head on in the food looks amazing online Hey guys, we are back in the room dinner was pretty good I will say so far switzerland france and italy Um has had better indian food.
