It makes landfall as a Category 4
hurricane off the coast of Mexico.
Pacific Coast is something our most
accurate weather team has been
telling us about for days now.
We want to send it over to
meteorologist Lee Southwith with
what effects we could feel here
on the First Coast League.
Absolutely, so this did make
landfall as a major Category 4
hurricane just a little bit of ago.
Now down to a Category 2 because
it's moving inland.
Unfortunately it is bringing destructive
wind and devastating flooding.
And by the way,
Mexico also had a tropical storm.
Max make landfall yesterday.
That's Max there.
It may landfall weakened and then dissipated.
There's Lydia,
the hurricane that's still moving
inland over Mexico now too,
and the energy from these two named
storms are going to combine with
the energy here in the Gulf.
This area of low pressure.
Now this area of low pressure
is not going to get a name.
The National Hurricane Center says
a 0% chance of it getting a name
because it doesn't have an
organized center of circulation.
It does not have winds that
are tropical storm force,
but what it will do is move north
and it will bring gale force
winds to the northern Gulf.
But it's going to combine
with that warm front.
It's going to bring heavy rain not
only to the northern Gulf Coast,
but also over to us.
That heavy rain will arrive Wednesday
night into Thursday morning.
So.
