Hello everyone, I am very happy to see you again in today's art class.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, today we will study online the theme of the 12th class,
learning about Vietnamese folk paintings.
Before starting the lesson, you prepare for me the following learning tools.
Book of Chalk,
Drawing paper or drawing paper,
Colors,
Pencil and eraser.
The goal of today's lesson is as follows.
Learn about the origin, role, meaning as well as the subject matter of folk painting.
The first step is to get used to drawing,
understand the beauty and artistic value of folk painting.
Know how to value and be aware of preserving national art.
Let's start with learning about folk painting.
Please watch the following video clip
and pay attention to some main details in the video such as
the name of the painting, the origin of the paintings.
Chalk painting is considered one of the unique folk paintings
and is a characteristic cultural feature of the people of Hanoi in the past.
Appearing from the 16th-17th centuries,
it was the most developed in the late 19th century.
Chalk painting is the result of the exchange of Buddhist and Confucian ideas
between different types of statues in the temple
with the beauty of everyday life of people.
As well as other types of folk paintings,
the details of Chalk painting are also very rich,
divided into two types, which are Chalk painting and Chalk painting.
Chalk painting is made very sophisticated,
asking the artist to be very skillful and meticulous in the painting process.
After a long process,
going through many twists and turns of history
as well as the development of society,
Chalk painting is gradually flourishing.
Now, on Chalk Street,
shop owners are also gradually moving to sell new types of paintings,
modern paintings.
And at this time,
only the artist Le Dinh Nghien is still attached to the art of Chalk painting,
a person who is always determined to make the essence of this type of painting.
The unique folk painting will not be lost if there are still people who are passionate about it.
Chalk painting is the product of talent,
of love for art,
of the ingenuity of the people of Kinh Ky,
who have created a folk painting that has been popular in Hanoi for thousands of years.
Dong Ho village, formerly known as Mai village,
in Song Ho commune, Thuan Thanh district,
has a woodcarving artist
who is famous for his unique paintings.
According to historical documents,
Dong Ho painting appeared in the 16th century.
Until now,
no one has been able to count how many types of paintings,
but only know that there are 5 types,
which are Buddhist painting,
historical painting,
portrait painting,
life painting,
and Chalk painting.
The distinctive feature of Dong Ho painting
is the material used to make the painting,
which is handcrafted from available materials in nature.
For example,
the paper is made from pine trees,
the red color is made from young branches,
the yellow color is made from yellow butterflies,
the black color is made from bamboo leaves,
and the white color is made from bark,
On the basis of those basic colors,
the artists have created many different colors
by mixing the colors.
From the end of the 19th century to 1944,
was the heyday of the painting village.
At that time,
there were 17 families in the village,
and all of them made paintings.
From July to August every year,
the whole village was busy preparing for the Tet holiday,
all over the colorful village of Diep paper.
Every year,
the painting market is only the busiest and busiest in January.
Millions of paintings are sold to families on the Tet holiday
to bring gifts and flowers to their homes.
At the painting market,
not only visitors come to buy paintings,
but also those who admire the art of folk painting
come to see the paintings and celebrate the spring season.
Dong Ho painting has a long life
and special attraction to many generations of Vietnamese
as well as foreign tourists.
Because of the material on the painting,
the painting is full of life,
vivid, elegant, close to wood,
and closely related to Vietnamese culture.
Lang Sinh, Phu Mau Commune, Phu Vang District, Thua Thien Hue Province.
The art of folk painting of artist Ky Huu Phuoc
has attracted many tourists for many years
when he came to Hue capital, Thua Thien Hue Province.
It is also a kind of folk painting,
but the traditional Lang Sinh painting
is different from Dong Ho painting and Hang Chong painting
because it is usually only used for worship.
Later, the people of Lang Sinh also developed
more paintings for tourists.
Lang Sinh painting has existed for more than 400 years,
but there was a period of facing the risk of extinction.
Artist Ky Huu Phuoc,
who has been involved with this painting for 60 years,
has determined to gradually build up
and restore the traditional folk painting of the village.
The revival of Lang Sinh painting today
is his great contribution.
Visitors who come to visit
experience the art of Lang Sinh painting
are extremely excited when they are guided by the people here
who still create a traditional painting.
From wooden boards like this,
children can easily print a picture
with the shape of a puppet animal.
Artist Ky Huu Phuoc,
for decades,
has been building a house
to display paintings for visitors
to learn about the folk painting here.
The daily revival of Lang Sinh painting
has contributed to enrich the cultural color of Hue capital.
Hopefully, Lang Sinh painting
will always retain the traditional features
that his father left.
Kim Hoang painting
is a special folk painting
of the northern region of the past.
It is different from Hang Chau painting
or Dong Ho painting
which is printed on wooden boards
or blackboard.
Kim Hoang painting
is printed on pink paper
and is called red painting.
Throughout the years
from the 18th century to the 19th century,
Kim Hoang folk painting
has been welcomed
and has a strong life of its own.
The image in the painting
often describes the simple,
simple,
but familiar life
of the people of the northern region.
Time has made the memory of Kim Hoang painting
even with the people of Van Canh commune,
Hoai Duc district,
Hanoi city,
where the folk painting
has been known for a long time.
Kim Hoang people
only remember the streets,
the folk paintings of their village.
For example, Kim Hoang painting
is printed on paper.
His father printed black lines
and then colored them.
As for ink,
Kim Hoang people use brown ink
and colors with natural origin.
After using wooden boards,
they rub water on them
and then put them on a piece of paper
to let them dry.
They use a light brush
to make the lines stand out
and then let them dry in the sun.
After letting the paint dry,
the painter then adds colors
and lines
to make the painting more vivid and outstanding.
If it is a blank painting,
it is delicate,
sophisticated,
high-quality,
suitable for the needs of the people of the city.
A vivid, healthy painting
about the life of a farmer
is like a connection
between two lines of Kim Hoang painting.
That connection
brings special characteristics
to Kim Hoang paintings,
which are unique and unique.
Thickness in the theme,
thickness in each way of painting,
but also delicacy
in each line of printing,
the skill of printing in the city.
Kim Hoang painting
is like the unique integration
of folk art
creating unforgettable memories
for 5 months.
The way to revive Kim Hoang painting
is still full of difficulties ahead.
But the red colors of the painting
that have been passed down
are being absorbed,
being recognized
as a proof of existence,
strong revival
and respecting the beautiful traditional cultures
that his father's generation left behind.
Do you see
our Vietnamese folk paintings
have any characteristics?
You have just watched the video.
Now, please answer me.
In the video you just watched,
how many folk paintings are there?
Please name those folk paintings
and finally,
where do those folk paintings
originate from?
I will give you a minute
to think
and write your answer.
Do you have an answer yet?
Let's take a look
to see if the answer is the same as the teacher.
There are 4 folk paintings in the video.
Those are the paintings such as
Dong Ho, Hang Chong,
Kim Hoang,
and Lang Sinh.
The paintings have their origin
in many different places,
such as
Hang Chong painting
has its origin
from Hang Chong street, Hanoi.
Dong Ho painting
has its origin
from Dong Ho village,
Tham Thanh district,
Bac Ninh province.
Lang Sinh painting
has its origin
from Phu Mau commune,
Phu Van district,
Thua Thien Hue province.
And finally,
Kim Hoang painting
has its origin
from Van Canh commune,
Hoai Duc district,
Hanoi city.
Now, let's see
a few famous paintings
of Dong Ho,
Hang Chong,
Kim Hoang,
and Lang Sinh.
We have just learned
about the folk paintings
of Vietnam.
And now,
let's move on
to the second activity.
Let's see the paintings
of Dong Ho,
Hang Chong,
and Chong Chang
of Dong Ho village.
Please compare
the similarities
and differences
in the two paintings
through the following questions.
Which images
are there
in Chong Chang painting?
Which images
are there
in Chong Chang painting?
Which images
are there
in Chong Chang painting?
And finally,
the question is
which images
are there
in Chong Chang painting
and which images
are there
in Chong Chang painting?
I will give you
one minute.
Please think
and compare.
After that,
let's see
if the answer
is the same as mine.
The similarities
in the two paintings
are that
the two paintings
are both about fish.
The shape
of the two fish
is the same
and the body
is curved
like swimming.
The differences are
that the lines
in Chong Chang painting
of Hang Chong
are thin
and slender.
Hang Chong
is painted
with a brush
and uses
a matte paint
so the color
is fresh
and vivid.
It is printed
on a wire
and has many layers.
The lines
in Dong Ho
painting of fish
are solid
and strong
because the color
used in the painting
is taken from nature
so the Dong Ho
painting of fish
is often slow
and warm
and printed
more simply
according to the printing network.
It is not painted
as vividly
as in Hang Chong
Dong Ho
painting of fish
is printed
on a wire
and has many layers
which means
the fish
has many layers.
So we have
learned
about the
Dong Ho
paintings
as well as
looking at
some of the
Dong Ho
paintings
in the past.
Now we will
move on to
the third activity
which is
imitating
folk paintings.
Before
imitating,
let's see
how the
people of
Dong Ho
made
a folk
painting.
The
image of
Dong Ho
painting looks
like this.
The image
is engraved
on a wooden board
such as
a pig,
a tree
or a
tree.
Now
we will
imitate
the folk
paintings.
We
will choose
one of the
folk
paintings
that we
like the
most.
Then
we will
draw the
image
in the
painting
and we
will
decorate
as we
like
and choose
a suitable
color
for
the
painting.
We
know how
to imitate
folk paintings
yet?
To
learn more
about
how to
imitate
folk
paintings,
let's
watch a
video about
how to
imitate
folk
paintings.
Now
today
is the
end.
I
wish you
good
luck
and

the
future.
Good

and

Good
