Những Công Trình Vĩ Đại Tiền Tỷ Bị Bỏ Hoang Bí Ẩn Nhất Thế Giới | Giới Quý Tộc
The world-famous super-projects are often known as
great constructions or buildings
designed in detail and planned to be built to become a symbol of excellence
or a symbol of the country's prosperity and vision
or more broadly, the whole of humanity.
From the idea to turning them into reality
can also cost a lot of money.
However, not all super-projects have a perfect ending.
Although it used to rain and wind,
they are now forgotten over time.
Some are stagnant due to the impact of the economic crisis.
Some have to stop forever due to changes in strategy and vision.
So far, there are not a few super-projects that have been damaged
and downgraded to the point where no one recognizes them.
Not to mention, there are ghost cities
that no one wants to go back to.
Why is there such a story?
Let's find out together
and discover and unravel those mysteries
in today's video.
Let's start!
Number 1
Wonderland Entertainment Park, Beijing
In China, it is only 45 minutes away from the center of Beijing.
It is the ruins of a huge amusement park
built near the highway,
surrounded by houses and wooden fences.
This park was once announced by investors
as the largest amusement park in Asia.
However, it has been abandoned in a wasteful way
with old buildings and toys lying around.
This place was forced to stop operating in 1998
after disagreements with the local government and farmers
over the price of real estate.
After that, investors quickly tried to restart construction in 2008,
but still failed.
Wonderland Amusement Park is located in Beijing, China.
The plan to build and invest in it was put forward in the early 90s.
The park will have a total area of 50 hectares on an undeveloped field.
It is the same size as the famous Tokyo Disneyland in Japan.
At that time, Wonderland was planned to attract 3 million tourists,
bringing back 80 million tickets a year.
It was even expected to be the largest amusement park in Asia.
However, right from the start,
the project had to face many challenges.
Unfortunately, in 1998,
when Wonderland was in the middle of construction,
everything was of course delayed,
had to stop and the park was abandoned.
At the end of 1998, the project was stopped
after a dispute with disagreements between the local government and farmers.
By 2005, investors tried to restart the project
to take advantage of China's organization of the Olympics in 2008.
But the plans are said to have been hindered
by a proposal to build a new city in the same area.
The project was delayed from then on,
and finally it was abandoned.
Now, the largest amusement park in Asia
has completely fallen into oblivion
with long, winding paths.
Many skyscrapers have collapsed,
and the amusement facilities are full of trash.
After being abandoned,
Wonderland has become the residence of the homeless,
a garbage collection area,
and can also be used by the people as a farm to collect garbage.
The local people began to raise questions
about why the big project suddenly stopped completely.
Some stories say that the location of the park has been falsified,
because according to some rumors,
a mass grave has been excavated during the construction of this project.
But the truth is much clearer and simpler.
After the financial disagreements between the local government and the farmers,
investors could not reach an agreement with the local people
on real estate prices,
and they were unfortunately forced to abandon the project
when negotiations were completely stalled.
The project would be the birthplace of the farmers and their families,
and of course, they were not willing to give up their only source of income.
For many years, when the project was abandoned,
the local people were devastated and continued to work hard
amidst the ruins of the project.
Number 2
The Great American Pyramid
Speaking of pyramids,
people immediately think of Egypt,
with the magnificent, majestic symbols of the world.
However, the United States is also famous for having one of the largest pyramids in the world,
which is the Great American Pyramid,
the Great American Pyramid,
located in Memphis, Tennessee.
However, you will be surprised
because this impressive superstructure has been abandoned for almost a decade
because it is suspected to be the source of the old phalae on the top of the top.
The city of Memphis was founded in 1819
and named after an Egyptian city.
This is believed to be the reason why the people of Memphis
wanted to build a pyramid like the original of the Egyptians.
Therefore, after two years of construction,
the Great American Pyramid was completed
and opened to visitors in 1991.
The cost of completing the pyramid in Memphis
is 97.8 meters high
and about 68 million dollars.
The construction of the United States is lower than the Geyser Pyramid,
which is nearly 147 meters high in Egypt,
but still ranked among the top 10 highest pyramids in the world.
Originally, the Great American Pyramid was used by the Memphis authorities
as a venue for events and sports fields.
This is also the yard of the Memphis Southern University football team
and Memphis Grizzlies.
The building is used as a sports and entertainment stadium
with more than 20,000 seats until 2004.
This can be said to be the only pyramid in the world
with the highest revenue in history.
But since the FedEx Forum office opened nearby,
football teams have been moving around.
The building was gradually forgotten because no one took over.
People began to call the building a tomb of doom,
a tomb of death,
because of the economic crisis and the rumor
about a phallic skull placed on the top of the tower.
Accordingly, the skull was built,
the original of the building,
and opened to the public for many years.
The owner of the Hot Rock coffee shop
is said to be the one who put the skull on the top of the tower.
He replied to the New York Times
that the rumors were completely meaningless.
However, this person confirmed
that he had placed many other mysterious phallic objects
in the pyramid
as part of the mystery of the building.
The rumor was only shut down until 2015.
Base Pro Shop rented it
and opened a commercial and entertainment center.
The new administration took advantage of the effective space of the building
with many jewelry stores and groceries,
and even an artificial pond.
In addition to shopping,
tourists can also explore the aquarium
and relax in the bowling alley next to it.
The Big Cypress Lodge hotel
will give tourists an unforgettable experience
when they stop by one of the largest pyramid towers in the world.
The building also opened a cityscape observation deck on the 28th floor
for $10 per person.
Since then, the American pyramid tower has always been crowded.
Many people come here to shop, play and have fun.
However, until now,
many people still doubt the future of this pyramid tower.
But the rumors may be the most convincing proof
when the company received $46.7 million
in the second year of opening,
with more than 3 million tourists visiting and enjoying the services here.
The Memphis Pyramid Tower
is also one of the projects that has been abandoned for a decade,
but has been marked with a legacy.
Now, it has become a global symbol of unique and mysterious architecture,
combining the essence of ancient Egypt and modernity.
Number 3
Hashima Island, Japan
About 15 kilometers from Nagasaki City,
it is an abandoned island,
deserted and submerged in mysterious things.
Hashima Island used to be a land of coal mining.
This island is a clear representative of Japan's rapid industrialization process.
In fact, this island is also called Gunkanjima,
which means war island.
Coal was discovered for the first time on the island around 1810,
and this island has been inhabited from 1887 to 1974
as a coal mining facility at the bottom of the sea.
Mitsubishi Hoshikaisa bought this island in 1890
and began mining coal from the pits below the sea,
while the seabed and the process of deforestation
has increased the size of the island three times.
From 1891 to 1974,
four main pits with a depth of up to 1 kilometer were built,
with one of them actually connecting Hashima to a neighboring island.
About 15.7 million tons of coal were mined
in pits with temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius and 95% humidity.
During the war, Japan brought Korean prisoners of war
and prisoners of war to this island to do hard labor.
During this time,
it is estimated that about 1,300 workers,
each imprisoned,
died on the island due to various dangers,
including accidents under the pits,
exhaustion and malnutrition.
Coal was first discovered on this island in the 1800s.
In an effort to catch up with the powers in the West,
Japan began a phase of rapid industrial development
between the 1800s and Hashima Island was used
to try to realize this effort.
After Mitsubishi bought this island in 1890,
the company built and developed the whitewashed walls
and began mining coal as the first large-scale coal mining operation in Japan.
In 1916,
the company built the first large steel concrete building in Japan,
a 7-story apartment block for the miners
to be suitable for their developing workers.
Concrete is used especially to protect
against the destruction of the tropical storm.
Over the next 55 years,
many buildings have been built,
including apartment blocks,
schools,
religious schools,
hospitals,
main courts
and community centers
to serve the needs of entertainment,
a club,
a movie theater,
a public bathroom,
a swimming pool,
a garden on the roof,
a store,
and a Pachinko room
built for the miners and their families.
Over time,
this island has developed rapidly
and become one of the important coal mining facilities in Japan in the past.
In 1959,
the population of this island reached 5,259 people,
with an area of only 6.3 hectares,
but Gunkanjima has 71 skyscrapers,
skyscrapers,
and coal mines.
In the heyday in 1959,
the island was once the most crowded place in the world,
crowded to the extent of more than 5,000 people
and built in a building with an area of about 0.16 square kilometers.
This island is also the source of inspiration for the movie
Hell Island,
produced by South Korea in 2017.
There are thousands of women,
men and children living and working on this island.
They mine coal under the sea,
contributing to the rapid growth of Japanese industry in the late 19th century.
In the 1960s,
coal mines all over Japan began to close,
because the oil mine was now the source of the number one replacement.
In January 1974,
Mitsubishi closed the mines on Hashima Island.
Of course, when the activities stopped,
everyone had to leave.
In just 3 months, this island was erased from all activity.
Accordingly, the construction projects after being abandoned by the island
also gradually collapsed
and became piles of rubble over time.
Even after the population decreased to 0,
Mitsubishi still maintained the right to own the island until 2002.
They volunteered to move this island
directly to Takashima Town.
Currently, Nagasaki City,
which incorporated Takashima Town in 2005,
has all the rights on the island.
It is unbelievable that
the island used to have more than 5,000 families living
within a radius of about 1.5 square kilometers.
Today, Hashima is only left with the ruins.
The special space of the island is chosen as the setting
of many bomb-type movies such as Skyfall,
Attack on Titan.
After many years of desolation,
the island officially opened to tourists in 2009.
In 2015, UNESCO decided to recognize Hashima
as a World Heritage Site.
4. Berlin Tempelhof Airport, Germany
Once an airfield, a gas station
and one of the largest buildings in the world,
Tempelhof Airport today has become a playground
and a gym for the people of Germany.
People even call Berlin Tempelhof
the mother of airports
because of its vast scale.
The main building of the airport
used to be one of the largest buildings in the world.
Berlin Tempelhof Airport
is known as one of the first airports
in the German capital Berlin.
Before becoming the largest and most populous airport in Germany,
the land of Tempelhof was a military stronghold.
Later, the German army unified and used it
from 1720 to the beginning of World War I.
This site was combined with aviation from very early on.
The first aircraft were built here.
At the end of the 19th century,
Tempelhof was used as a gas station
as a service for more than 9,000 passengers
and 155 people leaving the city.
Here, in 1909,
Hermann Zipfel, a French engineer,
conducted his first flight.
In 1923,
1923 was officially designated as an airport.
Tempelhof was designed to become
a proper airport.
Berlin Tempelhof was the main airport
and the only one to be the head of
air traffic in the region.
In 1927,
the first commercial aircraft were built here.
After the National Party took power
in 1933,
Adolf Hitler began to expand the airport
to accommodate more soldiers
and more people to impress the world.
It is said that in order to avoid war,
it became a prison for prisoners
arrested by Hitler's secret service
and was also a concentration camp.
Not to mention this place became
Hitler's airbase
and hid many secret tunnels
during the war.
Speaking of the time before World War II,
this place is considered
one of the most iconic places in Europe.
The UN headquarters is designed
like a giant bird using a wing.
The airport has a diameter of 1.6 km
and can accommodate
a total number of aircraft
from 50 to 70 in a decade.
Tempelhof has two runways
longer than 2 km.
The main building of the airport
used to be one of the top 20 buildings
which was designed to accommodate
more than 80,000 people
to watch the Luftwaffe air show.
In addition, the airport is also planned
to build a water tower,
a management building,
a commercial center and a control tower.
However, this plan was never completed
due to the war.
Berlin Tempelhof
continued to operate as a commercial center
until 1996.
A resolution from the Berlin city government
was announced that
the airport would be closed.
After that, the city of Berlin announced
that it would turn the old airport into a city park
with a budget of 60 million euros.
In an event attended by thousands of people,
Tempelhof Field opened
and is now the largest open-air space
in the world,
with a total area of 380 hectares,
even surpassing the famous center in New York City.
Through some websites,
we can still see
the history of this project,
such as the parts of the old train station
to the aircraft storage
and even the whole runway
can still be recognized right after it has been changed.
Today, this place has become a famous park
in the German capital.
It used to be the set of famous movies
such as Hunger Games, Bridge of Spies
and Born Supremacy.
Inside the area of this park
there are 6 km of roads for everyone to ride,
skate, run, 2.5 hectares
to have an outdoor barbecue party,
4 hectares for hunting activities
and a large area for outdoor activities.
One of the most popular activities
in Tempelhof is still related to flying,
but it is not the giant machines
that used to conquer the vast sky,
but are replaced by wings.
Number 5. David Tower, Venezuela
The tallest mousetrap in the world.
Maybe you don't know,
in Venezuela there is a huge building
where there is a helipad,
a beautiful view of the top of Avila Mountain
and a large balcony
for weekend parties.
However, this 45-story skyscraper
is located in the center of the capital Caracas
of Venezuela,
but it is not a 5-star hotel
or a luxurious apartment complex.
To be more precise,
this is the highest mousetrap
in the world.
Called Tower of David,
this building was planned
to become a new financial center.
However, the project was terminated
after the investor,
the financial tycoon David Bloomberg,
passed away with the collapse
in 1994.
After that, the Venezuelan government
abandoned this tower
and made it a home for about 3,000 people.
In other words,
it is the most luxurious mousetrap in the world.
With a height of 170 meters
and a total of 45 floors,
this is the third tallest skyscraper in the country.
Initially, it was thought to be a complex
consisting of a residential area
and an apartment with a space
between the capital and the city of Caracas.
However, only 4 years after the construction,
the building was still in a state of disrepair.
Inside, the building was very old
and the back of the building was still dilapidated.
There was no elevator, no power system,
no water, not installed,
no balcony, no balcony and no window.
Since then, this huge building has been abandoned.
Until 2001, the Venezuelan government
even tried to double the price
of the building with different structures
in the complex,
but no one cared about buying it back
and the price was getting lower and lower.
Therefore, there was not enough money
and the whole city of Caracas
was affected by the lack of housing
making hundreds of thousands of people
become homeless.
Because of this, Caracas citizens
soon found a way into the buildings
to occupy.
Until 2007, a group of workers
and immigrants occupied the building
and turned it into the world's largest
and tallest mansion.
They spent many months sleeping
in tents.
During the occupation,
the residents of Caracas
were completely occupied
and built a residential area
right in the building
and managed to build
a more orderly community.
About 3,000 people live
and install basic services
such as electricity, water,
up to the 22nd floor of the tower.
The tower has 45 floors
but only 28 floors are living areas.
There is no elevator,
so people use motorbikes
to get to the tower.
The local government knows about this
but they are reluctant
because there is no solution.
Although it is called a rat hole,
inside the long corridor of the building
there are many warehouses,
a clothing store, a hospital,
a department store,
and day care centers.
According to statistics,
about 40% of the total population
lives inside the tower
which is equivalent to about 700 families.
By 2011,
the population of Torre David
had increased to 3,000
and even reached a peak of about 5,000.
The residents of the tower
also set up an organization
to manage the tower better.
People have to pay $32 per month
to the board of directors.
The money that people pay
to the organization is considered a fee
for 24-hour security checks in the tower.
Then, in 2014,
the government of Caracas
built a 45-story building
on the outskirts of the city.
It will be given to low-income people.
Some suggested turning the tower
into an economic center
while others called it destroyed.
However, to this day,
this place still exists
and of course there are still residents living in it.
Recently, in 2018,
the building was even damaged
by a 7.3-degree earthquake
that destroyed 1.5 floors
of the tower
when it was tilted to one side
and almost fell to the ground.
Concrete from the top floors of the tower
fell down the sidewalk,
forcing the authorities to block
the nearby roads.
Fortunately, there were no casualties.
This tower has been known to the world
more than after it became the setting
for the American homeland TV series.
The people living in the David Tower
believe that this is a peaceful paradise
for poor people like them
because if they live in real slums,
until now,
no one knows where the future of the tower
that was built with ambition
will become a large-scale financial center
in the capital of Caracas.
And that is 5 super projects
that were abandoned in the world
when the slogan became a disappointment.
Which super project
made you the most regrettable?
Welcome everyone
to leave a comment below
and share with everyone.
Once again, thank you
for watching the show
Under The Tower,
where dreams come true.
Goodbye and see you again.
