Or do people need that misery? I still think that people need that misery to practice. I used to feel miserable, and I used to experience extreme misery. I was born in a poor country, but I didn't feel miserable when I was young. Usually, young people are willing to accept life as it is. But adults don't accept it. Acceptance makes you feel miserable. When I grew up, I started to ask myself why life is like this. I started to run, I started to look for answers. The life in Ho Chi Minh City, when I was young and living there, I realized that the dream of building a house, the dream of having a piece of land to live in, was too far away for young people when they first came to Saigon. The land was crowded, the land was expensive. Everything was expensive. And the monthly rent was several million VND. I didn't know when I could buy the land and build a house. It was too difficult for urban people. Millions of people in the city didn't have a dream of having a house. But a house is something basic. It is the right to live. All living things on earth have a place to live. Why is it so difficult for people? There was a man in Thailand. I don't remember his name. He was talking on Google's TED Talks. He told a story. He was born in northern Thailand. Northern Thailand is a poor area. Southern Thailand is a rich area. He went to Bangkok to live with other people to find success. But he realized that living in Bangkok was too difficult. It took him 30 years to get a house. It took him 30 years of hard work and debt to get a house. He dropped out of university and returned to his hometown. He built a house himself. He built a house in three months. He built a house with natural materials. In a year, he built a new house. He had many houses in his garden. It became a tourist attraction. It was famous all over the world, not just Thailand. He said that life was easy. It only took him two hours a day to farm. He could feed six families. In Bangkok, he had to work for at least eight hours a day. Sometimes, he had to work for more than ten hours. The image of a Thai man is not as similar as that of a Vietnamese man. But in Vietnam, we still have the mentality of going to the city to make a living. Every summer, thousands and tens of thousands of young people go to Saigon and Hanoi. On New Year's Day, when people go back to their hometown, we can see how crowded the city is. People look for success in the city. Of course, it's easier to make money in the city than in the countryside. In addition, the need for housing is much higher than in the countryside. So sometimes, it's even. For example, in the countryside, you can earn 1 million VND per month. In the city, you can earn 10 million VND per month. The need for housing in the countryside is very simple. It's very cheap. We are slaves because we depend on consumption. We feel that life is difficult. We have to earn a lot of money to satisfy our consumption. And now, the difficulty is not only due to the need for consumption in the city, but also because of the farmers in the countryside. Because the farmers have fallen into the trap of agriculture and technology, using pesticides and chemicals too much. And they have long been encouraged to become a habit. Now, they can't just be addicted to it. They have to use pesticides, chemicals, and chemicals in the competition of productivity. And the more they do, the more mistakes they make. Yesterday, I met a farmer in Son Tho Commune. He said that he earns a lot of money. And he has to work all day to pay off his debt. Because he follows the high-profit agriculture. He grows strawberries, cauliflower, cabbage, and corn. And he has to borrow money to buy pesticides, chemicals, and fertilizers. And that makes him a debtor of the agents. And he has to work all day to pay off his debt. That's his greed. His greed is that he produces a lot to sell. But the more he produces, the cheaper he sells. Earlier, I talked about farmers. If farmers have the same mindset as me, which is to make a garden, and have the spirit of self-sacrifice, and live a simple life, like the Thai farmer said, a day only takes 2 hours. And we are free and comfortable. Only 2 hours. People in the city will not imagine that we have a lot of time. That we are so rich. A day now, we only need to work for 2 hours to be able to support our family. Before, if we were in the city, we had to work 8 hours a day. And maybe more than 10 hours. But when I was a journalist, for example, in Vietnam, I had to work day and night. A month's salary was about 10 million VND. In China, a month's salary was about 10-12 million VND. But I had to work day and night. I had to sit in front of the camera, write a script, and report. It was very hard. It was a cycle without time to rest. And my mind was always tense. I was always in a state of tension. And when I got home, I often complained to my wife and children about the tension in the agency affecting my family life. And then a friend of mine introduced me to producing advertising films for a training school. For a place that supplies labor exports. Then I realized that I only needed to work for a few days to earn a month's salary in the TV station. I produced a film that took me a few days to hire a laborer and a cameraman. I just needed to write a script, produce a report, and hire a cameraman and a cameraman. It only took me a few days to earn a month's salary in the TV station. It wasn't hard. And I immediately made a comparison. During the production process, my boss, Le Minh Chi, called me to talk about the topic, to talk about some of the tense stories in the agency. I was not surprised that I had to stay in the TV station to work so hard to make a living. If I made a report, I really had the spirit of contribution, the motivation to contribute, to help this and that. But in the end, it was overshadowed. It was overshadowed for more than 10 years. I could work part-time, but my income increased 3-4 times, 5-6 times. So, in just 3 years of establishing my own production company, I paid off all my debts. At that time, I saw that life was still connected to production, so I had to adapt. It was very complicated. Even though I had an income, I had to live according to my customers. I had to say things that I didn't want to say. I had to be honest. So, I continued to close my company and live a simpler life. But as you can see, it was a simple life like some of the topics I talked about. I established a garden of 1,000 square meters. Basically, it was enough for self-sufficiency. If we could make solar power, wind power, and water pipes, we could be self-sufficient and reduce the cost from one sky to another. A lot of cost reduction. In the past, it cost a lot of money to move out of the house. Now, it doesn't cost money. Before Tet, I had to change the gas once. It took me a long time to change the gas and oil. Everything was very convenient. My mind was relaxed. It was very easy. And we built a simple life. Since then, I built this YouTube channel called Simple Life. Because I saw the value of a simple life. We plant the difficulties on our shoulders, from the need, from the experience, from the evaluation of others. Everything is a plant planted in our necks. For example, our passion for eating is a plant planted in our necks. We have to plant a lot of trees to make money to buy clothes, to buy things, to buy things to make us rich, to make us proud, to make people proud. We have to try a lot to get that title, that position in society, that authority in society. And we forget that we are simple and wonderful. We just plant more and more.
