I preferred to be a fighter plane that flies alone, rather than having a team of dependent aircraft around me, which are at best constantly mediocre.
Because when I quickly became a lonely fighter plane, I found myself establishing links with other people who had the same mindset as a fighter plane.
And very quickly, we became a real squadron.
Quickly, I found myself with new friends who thought like me. And quickly, I realized that I was much more competitive, okay?
Because when you train with more efficient humans, you become more efficient. You naturally want to become better.
So this is my challenge for you, my friends. Stop playing it soft and give yourself a chance to become tougher with yourself.
How's everyone doing? Welcome to the BK Show, the Bedros-Kelian Show.
My name is Bedros-Kelian, and this episode in particular was actually inspired by an Instagram post that I had published.
And on this Instagram post, I was talking about this strange belief system that...
You know, if the first thing you do in the morning is to press the snooze button, what you're doing is that you're getting ready to lose for the rest of the day.
And we'll come back to that in a moment, but...
This episode, this show, this subject took a long time to come, and here's why.
It seems to me that people are starting to become...
...softer and gentler towards themselves. It's almost as if people were looking for this escape route
against the fact of doing the necessary work to achieve the life they really want and need.
And so, the other day, I had posted something on Instagram, on which there was something effective.
You know, I believe that if you want to have a good reputation with yourself,
in other words, if you want to have confidence in yourself, because if you ask yourself the question,
confidence is just the reputation you have with yourself.
For example, if you want to have a good confidence in yourself,
and you ask yourself, how can I have a good confidence in myself?
You just need to have a good reputation with yourself.
Think about that.
If I don't believe you, it's because I don't have confidence in you.
Which could be translated by the fact that you have a bad reputation.
And so, if you want to build your own confidence in yourself, at a high level,
then you have to start building a better reputation with yourself.
And so, this reputation is a by-product, compared to what I said on this post,
of keeping the promises you make to yourself.
So, think about it this way.
Every night, when we go to bed, just before going to bed,
most of us set our alarm clock for the next morning.
In other words, we make a promise to ourselves,
that we're going to wake up at a certain time.
And you set this alarm, depending on the things you have to do that day,
which will help you move towards your goals in life.
Okay.
I mean, otherwise you wouldn't set an alarm.
You would just say, hey, whatever, I'm going to get up at any time,
and do anything.
But, I guess if you set an alarm, it's because you have things to do.
And that these things you have to do, will either bring you closer to your goals,
or take you away from your goals.
Now, I can't imagine that someone can wake up at any time,
and start doing stupid things like being stuck on social media,
wasting time, and finally only doing a few of these tasks during the day.
And there's a good chance that if you listen to a show like this,
you're probably very efficient, and you want to do more in life.
And so, you set this alarm at whatever time in question.
In my case, I always set my alarm at 5.30 in the morning.
And when this alarm goes off, I never press the snooze button.
Now, if I press the snooze button, it means that I broke the promise I made to myself.
I have now become unworthy of trust, and doubtful of my conscience.
My subconscious mind tells me that I have a bad reputation with myself,
and that I am not worthy of a greater success, nor of the realization of my ambitions and dreams.
And so, if you see things this way,
then it becomes logical not to press the snooze button.
And that's what I said on this Instagram post.
I wake up, I'd never hit the snooze button,
because I actually have turned off the snooze feature on my iPhone.
And I know you could do it off your Android, if someone's got Android.
Because you're making a promise to yourself the night before,
that I'm going to set my alarm, I'm going to wake up at 5.30.
And if you break that promise by hitting snooze,
you now have sent a message to your subconscious mind
that I'm a fake, phony, and an imposter.
That I make a promise, and I break my own promises.
I'm not reliable, and my reputation with myself is horrible.
With that in mind, do you think you're going to win the rest of the day?
Probably not, right?
And of course, a bullet hole decided to comment on this post.
Hey bro, this all seems a bit extreme.
Why don't you rather go easy on it?
Who has trouble sleeping a little more?
Well, I'm going to tell you who has trouble sleeping a little more.
It's the problem with the Vazimolo generation, in which we live.
The Vazimolo mentality, this mentality to seek balance.
Now, I don't advise you to be so unbalanced
that you spend all your time making money,
to end up massively overweight,
to end up alone, and to be mentally disempowered.
But, my God.
As for this Vazimolo mentality,
some of you have swallowed this idea for far too long.
And the way I see it is that throughout life, my guy,
either we can be aircraft carriers,
or we can be fighter jets.
And I'm talking about that in my last book.
I'm talking about the fact that there is someone who is irrefutable in his life.
It's someone who has an idea of his goal,
of his vocation,
and who works every day to achieve this goal.
Now, of course, some days you will reach more of your targets,
and others, you will reach less.
But what is certain is that every day, you move towards your goals.
It's the fighter jet mentality.
That's how you work.
You are oriented towards action.
You have this predisposition to align yourself with action.
And then you have this Vazimolo generation, as I like to call it,
who will come and tell you,
Hey bro, calm down!
What's wrong with you?
Why can't you just relax a little?
Press the snooze button from time to time.
You can stay 10 to 20 minutes more in bed, it doesn't matter.
But I'll tell you where the problem is with that.
You made a promise to yourself the day before,
and now you press the snooze button.
And so what you do is that you tell your subconscious
that you are a loser.
That you can't even keep your own promises.
You end up making a series of bad decisions throughout your day.
While for me,
I don't press the snooze button, and a lot of performing people I know
don't press the snooze button.
And thanks to that, I get up and dominate my day.
I get up, I drink my 900ml of water.
Then I send my 3 SMS of gratitude to 3 people I love,
for whom I feel a great gratitude and a great appreciation,
people who may have helped me in my life journey.
Because I know that at some point in the day,
these 3 people will answer me by message,
to tell me how happy they are,
how grateful and happy they are that I have sent them this message.
And I know that, you can believe me,
it's been almost 10 years now,
that I send 3 SMS of gratitude per day.
And every time I do, people often answer me,
thank you very much, I needed to hear that.
Things didn't go very well for me today,
and I needed to hear that.
Thank you very much for being this ray of sun,
for being this light in my life.
So at least 3 times a day,
I receive a positive affirmation,
that encourages me for the rest of my day.
And as I kept my promise to myself,
I'm more likely to accumulate more victories.
So at that moment, I drank my 900ml of water,
I sent my 3 SMS of gratitude,
and only after that,
I launch an episode of my favorite podcast on Spotify.
I listen to it while I take a shower,
that I take care of myself, etc.
Then I turn off the podcast,
I take my coffee, my protein shaker,
and I start working on my laptop.
I continue to accumulate victories,
and at 9am, I go to the gym.
And once again, I accumulate victories.
And when I get to the gym at 11am,
I'm ready to dominate my day.
All this because I chose not to press the snooze button.
But now, what would happen
if I decided to relax instead,
and to sleep 10, 15 or 20 extra minutes?
Well...
Maybe I would only drink half of my water.
Maybe I would start taking some shortcuts,
because I lost time.
Not to send my 3 SMS of gratitude.
You see?
Because I have to catch up.
You know, these 10, 15, 20 minutes will be lost somewhere.
And then maybe I'll even say to myself,
maybe I'm going to skip my workout today.
Or I'm going to go, but I'm going to do a little session.
And you can see that with this very small alternative,
my day has become shit.
But then, what would be the formula
for a productive, efficient and profitable day
that would make me satisfied once I get to the evening?
Because here, it was a day of...
of chaos,
led by this feeling of being late,
of anxiety, of incongruity,
of feeling like a hypocrite.
Because, my God,
am I going to qualify as a leader today?
And publish optimistic posts on social media?
Try to help the world?
Try to make my businesses grow?
When I was so weak?
And that I gave in to the temptation of pressing this fucking snooze button?
And so, in life,
either we can operate like a fighter plane
and be irrefutable,
or we can operate like a plane of bandages
and ask ourselves, well,
what do I want to do?
Oh, well, I want to go slowly today.
Because, don't get it wrong, guys,
every morning,
I want
to press the snooze button.
Every morning,
I want to go on social media before drinking my water
or send my SMS of gratitude.
But it's the regularity,
linked to discipline,
that leads me to win in life.
I'm not smarter than anyone else.
I don't have more emotional intelligence than anyone else.
On the other hand, what I have is regularity
through things
that really increase my chances of succeeding.
Okay?
And so, if I do the things that allow me to win
again and again,
then I'll have more chances to end up with the victory.
But don't get it wrong,
there are days when I just feel like I'm
submerged by my work of time.
And even if I did everything right,
and even if there are days when I feel like the world
is making fun of me,
guess what?
I would still have received 3 SMS
that told me how great I am,
from people who told me how good I am,
and how grateful I feel for sending them a message of gratitude.
Thus, as you can see,
even during your worst days,
by sending these 3 SMS of gratitude,
you receive 3 different points of light,
from people telling you that they thank you
and that they appreciate you
for thinking about them.
And so, I'm here to challenge you.
If you have this vazimolo mentality,
can you just consider being a little harder with yourself?
Can you stop letting yourself go?
I know it's easy
to deal with a few excuses.
And this comes back to what we talked about in the previous episode,
when we start listening to this bad inner voice.
And it's this bad inner voice that blows into your ear.
You know, you didn't sleep very well last night.
You, you turned around all night.
Remember what a nightmare you had.
Obviously, you should sleep a little more.
Press this snooze button.
You know, you can train very well after working,
rather than before.
Except that you know that there is a certain routine to respect.
And this winning routine
follows a certain pattern.
And every time you repeat this pattern,
it becomes a discipline.
And if you break this discipline,
you become more likely to lose.
So I'm here to ask you,
and even if you had a very bad night's sleep,
you still got up.
And if you were harder with yourself,
and if you adopted higher expectations towards yourself,
and if you raised your standards,
for yourself.
And then,
what would happen if you could stop being surrounded by people
who subscribe to this mentality of being cool and sweet?
This is really the essence of this episode.
It's that, very often,
I see people who are tailored to be fighter planes,
except that they are surrounded
by hang gliders.
We all know what the right thing to do is,
but it is so easy
to adopt a state of mind of being weak,
and to succumb to mediocrity.
But I absolutely don't know anyone
who is cool with it,
or who is in search of balance,
and who lives a real lifestyle of freedom.
There is simply no such thing.
Every person I know
constantly forces himself
to endorse higher expectations.
All the people I know
who succeed,
who feel happy and fulfilled,
and who have a huge impact,
big income,
who inspire others,
they simply have higher standards,
higher expectations.
All the people I know
who do very well,
are always surrounded by other hard-working people.
All these people I know
are very hard on themselves,
and it's normal to be hard on yourself.
Now, I'm not asking you to fight
until you feel defeated and annihilated,
but be hard on yourself.
If you set yourself the goal of making 10 commercial appeals today,
and that when the day is about to end,
you realize that you have only passed 7,
be hard on yourself,
and tell yourself,
you know what?
I will continue to make appeals
until I get to 10,
because
the best version of myself
demands that of me.
The best version of myself
doesn't want me to swallow it all.
The best version of myself
wants me to earn more money
and to create more experience and security for my family.
The best version of myself,
the fighter plane inside me,
has a whole bunch of different expectations
from the aircraft with which I hang out.
And my suggestion for you, my friends,
is to consider the idea
to move away
or to replace
all these people in your life
who pull you down.
That's all.
And when you start to move away
and to replace these people in your life,
I prefer to be a fighter plane flying alone
rather than...
rather than having a team of aircraft hanging around me
who are at best constantly mediocre.
Because when I quickly became
a lonely fighter plane,
I found myself establishing links
with other people
who put themselves in the image of a fighter plane.
And very quickly,
we became a real squadron.
Quickly,
we started to launch companies together.
We merged all our knowledge.
We organized events together.
Quickly,
I found myself with new friends
who thought like me.
And quickly,
I realized that I was much more competitive.
Okay ?
Because when you hang out with more efficient humans,
you become more efficient.
You naturally want to become better.
So this is my challenge for you, my friends.
Stop drowning yourself
and give yourself a chance to become tougher with yourself.
And when you do,
you will reach higher levels of success,
higher levels of fulfillment
and higher levels of happiness.
And with that comes a huge amount of security
and a great generational wealth in the future.
And that's really what it's about, guys.
Being able to help people,
to take care of people and
to do good things.
But this only happens when you decide to be tougher with yourself and
to have higher expectations,
to be a fighter plane,
until all the hangar planes around you
are forced to recognize that you were right from the start.
