Interesting new revelations and plot developments in Gen V have increased the likelihood of Homelander becoming the President in The Boys season 4.
Warning! Spoilers ahead for Gen V Episode 7 and the Boys Comics!
Following some intriguing developments in Gen V, the idea of Homelander becoming the
President seems increasingly plausible. During her interview with Cameron Coleman in Gen
V Episode 7, Victoria Newman claims that she wants to give Supes a seat at the table in
US politics. While she's likely talking about her secret super self, could she have
an even bigger plan for Homelander?
After initially portraying Newman as an anti-Supe activist, the Boys confirmed that she is
actually a Supe herself, who has been pulling many strings from behind the scenes to rise
up the ranks. She even struck a deal with Homelander in The Boys Season 3, giving him
Ryan's whereabouts in return for him getting Robert Singer's running mate out of the
way. They've got that transactional relationship, and Newman getting rid of Stan Edgar shows
she wants Supes in control. So, an eventual replacing of Robert Singer with Homelander
would make sense.
And it might set up the Boys' comic book ending!
In the Boys Comics, Homelander gets so consumed by his hubris that he sets out to initiate
a coup by taking out the President. However, little does he realize that Vaught has a secret
weapon. It's revealed that Black Noir is Homelander's clone, tasked with the job
of disposing of him if he grows too erratic.
A final brutal twist reveals that Black Noir posed as Homelander and committed several
atrocities, which forced Vaught to call for Homelander's assassination. In a final showdown
in the Boys Comics, Black Noir ruthlessly unalived Homelander, while the military took
the Supe's supporters.
Although the Season 3 developments of Black Noir's arc reduced the likelihood of the
show repeating the clone storyline, Homelander's own ego will still likely lead to his downfall
in the TV series.
If he manages to become the President of the United States, or even comes close to
acquiring that much status, it won't be long before his undying lust for power causes
his own undoing.
