As I get into collecting diecasts more, I get a few 2022 Matchbox models. Love this Ford Capri MkI, it captures the real vehicle very well. I hope they do the MkIII in the future. Matchbox is kinda like Hot Wheels's older, more mature brother and the diecasts are more realistic. Shame about the VW Golf as it came with paint rash on the hidden side. Tesla Roadster and Honda E are also great models.

Hey everyone, I've got a few Matchboxes here to show you from 2022
So as I mentioned in a previous video, I'm getting into Matchbox, but the UK distribution is really bad
and some of them I've managed to find in store and some of them I just went to eBay just to get a couple
But these, I managed to find all these in store, which is really cool and the cheapest way of getting them
So I've got two older castings, well as in 2022, but of older cars from the 70s
and I've got two modern castings, so it'll be really interesting to have a look at them together
So we've got the Ford Capri, really nice, I love that half elliptical curve
I think on the back it's just the same old text, but then we've got this Volkswagen Golf 76 Mark 1
Honda e and Tesla Roadster, I think yeah, just the usual stuff on the back, nothing special
So let's get these open and take a look
Here we go, side by side, so let's have a look at the Ford Capri first
I really like this baby blue colour, suits it very well
These wheels, they just look so vintage, a bit of shiny chrome on the bottom
Really nice touch, okay I'll get back to that soon
But the wheels, I think they could have, I'm not sure if these are the accurate wheels
to what they were in the 70s, but they do give it a vintage look
I think I prefer these with the more modern wheels, but anyway, this is the model
I think this looks really, really nice, done a really great job here
Oh, small paint chip here, this is the base, the front
This is the Mark 1, I think, from 1970
And there's a few more versions after this
And I think there's like Mark 3, where you can see quite accurately on this model
It's got this lip of the bonnet and I think it went back in later marks
And then it went over, it sort of slightly covered the headlights
to give it an aggressive look, similar to the Dodge Challenger now
So yeah, that'll be cool to see, the different versions of it
But the main thing I like about this, is this elliptical part, really smooth, really curved
Just gives it a really nice classic look
But yeah, I'd love to see it in like racing, like just black with, you know, racing tyres
or something like that, gunmetal spokes, that would look really cool
No tampos on the back, but they did have headlights, which
Really nice touch, and this on the side as well, part of the design
This is a really classic, really classy model, really like this one, came out really well
Normally I collect supercars, and like hypercars, and futuristic things
But this has got a really nice classic feel to it, so, booyah
Okay, now on to the Golf 76, so a little bit later, Mark 1
I grew up in the 90s, but, you know, maybe I saw
something that looked similar to this when I was growing up
What's all this on the side, eh?
I have no idea what that is, some dirty factory stuff on the side of this model
There you go, similar disc wheels, got that vintage feel
And it's interesting here, we've got like half, got part of the window there on the front
Oh, look at that, you can see the column going straight up and through
from the bottom, so that, that is, I don't know why they've done that
Like in this, it's all put together well, but this, they've just decided to
ram this random column right up through the back
and couldn't put it together, that's just weird
Anyway, okay, so this is the side, the front, got like tampos and stuff, which is good
Volkswagen GTI, you can add your own license plate there if you just get a bit of paint
I've got a stripe along here, this is the base, just a few details, nothing spectacular
The roof, and on the back, no tampos either, nothing
But pretty accurate to the, you know, the shape I remember
That I'll have to try and clean off, hopefully the paint won't scrape off
Actually, I think that paint, I don't even know what that is
But I'll have to have a look at that later in more detail
It looks like metal flake to me underneath, might be a problem with the model itself
Yeah, that might be some QC controls here
Okay, maybe there'll be a better model elsewhere
Cool, okay, let's have a look at this
So, Honda e, I like these little, I like these wheels
Gunmetal, it's always a good choice to go with
So a lot of this is plastic on the top, the roof is plastic
And this part is metal that goes up, so I guess it's A, B
Like the C pillar is metal, and then there's like a metal part here, and the rest is plastic
It's on the back, darkened windows, but it's got the tampos on, so that's really cool
Honda e, and on the front as well, got the cool circular lights, it's a nice one
And finally, the Tesla Roadster, really nice curved shape
Look at that, it's got a see-through roof
Let's have a look at the steering wheel
It's pretty hard to see, but it looks more like a, rather than a wheel
Looks more like a, more like a, you know, one of those game controllers
It's hard to see the inside, but anyway, that's pretty much what it is
Look at that massive big scratch on the back
Someone definitely dropped that in the factory
And you can see some scratch marks, like some, some of the metal work there
But overall, really nice in this dark grey metal flake
I've got Tesla on the front here
Cool addition of the light tampos, nice work
Love these gunmetal spokes
And on the back, let's see what that is
Zero emissions, there you go, Tesla
And they even got like a silver light here
Be cool if there was a red one as well, just to break up the, the colours
Yeah, so there you go, really, really nice model
For me, I think the Capri, this is beautiful
And this is, this one's pretty cool
But I think my favourite of the lot has got to be this one
Very nicely done
Okay, let's give these guys a spin
So yeah, let me know what you think in the comments below
If you, what you think, you know, what are your favourite 2022 Matchbox vehicles
Hopefully see you in the next video

If you're interested in diecast cars and Transformers
I really like those two a lot
And collect quite a few things
That, that's kind of, I try to go for 164 scale
And hopefully I can put these together in like a diorama or a scene
