Matthew Perry has been laid to rest.
According to multiple outlets, the private funeral was attended by the actor's loved ones,
including his friends' co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.
The memorial was reportedly held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles,
near the Warner Bros. Studios lot where the iconic sitcom was filmed.
Perry played Chandler Bing for 10 seasons on the show.
His funeral comes nearly a week after the actor died in an apparent drowning.
The 54-year-old was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his L.A. home Oct. 28,
with first responders later declaring him dead at the scene after a, quote,
rapid medical assessment.
Authorities previously told NBC News that Perry's cause of death has been deferred,
pending a toxicology report.
Per the outlet, results from an initial autopsy were inconclusive, prompting further investigation.
Following his passing, Perry's friends' castmates released a joint statement, saying,
We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew.
We were more than just castmates, we were a family.
There is so much to say, but right now we're going to take a moment to grieve
and process this unfathomable loss.
The statement added,
In time we will say more, as and when we are able.
For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family,
his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.
Jim Burroughs, who directed the first episodes of Friends,
recently opened up to Today about his relationship with Matthew.
What was your first impression of Matthew?
Wow. The reading around the table.
Matthew had a certain way of turning a lot.
I had to have a couple of days to, you know, just let it soak in.
He was part of a family, and he was the first one to not be part of that family anymore.
He went on to reveal how the cast is doing since news broke of Matthew's death.
I texted the girls the day we found out, and they were destroyed.
It's a brother die.
We were so proud of him these last couple of years
that he was making a remarkable recovery.
