British tourists never had a trip as wonderful and happy as in Vietnam.
Welcome to Red Vietnam YouTube channel.
Today, we will share a story about a British tourist
who has had a wonderful trip and happiness that has never been in Vietnam.
The rocks look unreal,
the giant limestone mountains are full of life like competing for height and width.
Writer Charlie Thomas has written a book on Final Showtime
about a 12-day trip in the North Vietnam region.
I have never been happier
when I see the plastic road, the gray road in front,
passing through the good green of the Vietnamese landscape.
It appears at the perfect time.
I was just hit by a motorbike on a rocky hill in Ha Giang,
so being on a plastic road is a light feeling.
I rode on a motorbike,
passed nearly 500 kilometers through beautiful bamboo hills like paintings,
went boating on Lake Thac Ba,
and crossed the roads in Hoang Su Phi.
3 days after a 12-day motorbike trip through the North Vietnam region,
I was mesmerized by this beautiful country,
with people and cuisine here.
The trip started in Hanoi,
where the air was full of gasoline,
where crossing the road was a miracle,
a miracle in front of the calculators
to slide through the bicycles and cars dancing around.
But life slowed down right after we left the city,
1 hour driving to the north of Hanoi,
a remote rural area where farmers grow rice.
The fields opened up,
narrow roads and amazing rocks appeared.
Each day is a journey of more than 100 kilometers,
the same roads go through small villages,
mountains and sections with different terrain.
The trip attracted many people,
from 25-year-old engineers
to 64-year-old retirees.
Our group has a total of 14 people
from the United Kingdom and France,
and close friends are built quickly.
Further north,
we headed for Dong Van Geopark.
We were greeted by friendly hands
when passing through each small town.
The young people just finished school
are riding their bikes home.
The enthusiasm of the young people
is probably partly because we are traveling
by a large car.
Everyone is used to seeing motorbikes
all over the roads in Vietnam.
Only Hanoi has more than 5 million
motorbikes and most of the vehicles
used are two-wheelers.
Larger cars are rarer.
In 12 days of the trip,
we encountered everything,
from rubber roads to grass,
rainwater, dirt and rocks.
Places are different every day,
from very comfortable hotels in Hanoi
to homestays such as Vie Phu Linh,
a homestay overlooks Lake Thac Ba,
each room overlooks the lake.
Guests have meals together in the evening,
walking on the traditional paths.
In the village of Nguoi Sao in Quang Ba,
we stayed in wooden huts,
while in Hoang Su Phi,
a homestay overlooks a rice field.
We still feel grateful
for leaving the hotels in Dong Van and Cao Bang
with a quiet and cool air
to choose this place
although the daily temperature is up to 38 degrees Celsius.
While the quality of the places
can be different,
the food is always great.
Hanoi tea noodles impressed us
right in the first meal
with its sweet and greasy grilled pork.
The most famous Vietnamese dish,
Pho, is almost a daily requirement,
hot and it is almost
a perfect dish for a long day on the road.
Other outstanding dishes include
Ginger Chicken served
with full head and legs
to let you know that you are being served
a whole chicken.
The scenery of northern Vietnam is very large
and extremely diverse,
sometimes flat and green,
sometimes steep, mountainous and scary.
On the way to Ha Giang,
we climbed up and went through the mountains
to capture the unusual forms
of the mountains.
There are high-speed crabs
and narrow crabs
where you can watch the trees,
water buffaloes
and wild dogs.
When we arrived at Ba Be National Park,
there were endless rice fields,
narrow roads,
and people walking on them.
The scenery of Ha Giang
is almost the same
as the old movies
and images of Vietnam.
Traveling by motorbike
is an interesting way
to explore more about Vietnam.
Such experiences make people feel
more committed to the scenery
and also lead to more difficult places
such as dead ends,
unfinished roads
that are out of reach
for ordinary tourists.
