Welcome to our channel where we compare the best vehicles in the market.
Today, we're comparing two of the most popular luxury SUVs, the 2023 Toyota Sequoia and the 2024
Lexus GX. Let's see how they stack up against each other. The Lexus GX, the brand's midsize
off-road SUV, has been overdue for redesign and it's finally happened for the 2024 model year.
Riding on an all-new platform with an updated powertrain and a load of more modern features,
the GX's rugged appearance is about the only thing that ties it to its outdated forebear.
The Toyota Sequoia has always been a full-size, three-row SUV based on the platform of the
Tundra pickup truck. That doesn't change with the new generation arriving for the 2023 model year.
The rest does. The new model is far more modern than the outdated second-generation Sequoia it
replaces, which has been around for more than a decade. The new Sequoia comes standard with
the Tundra's i-Force Maxx hybrid powertrain, which combines a 3.4 liter V6 engine with an
electric motor for a total of 437 horsepower. Inside, it offers a large touchscreen with the
latest software, along with three-row cabin with seating for up to eight passengers.
Both the Sequoia and the GX are known for their impressive features and capabilities. The Sequoia
offers a bold and rugged design, while the GX boasts a sleek and modern look. Both vehicles
come with impressive features, such as LED headlights and fob lights, a power moonroof,
and a rear spoiler. Price. Although it is thoroughly redesigned for 2024, the GX's price
shouldn't climb too far from where it is now. Expect a starting price of around $60,000 with
the most rugged overtrain models stretching close to $80,000. When we come to the Sequoia,
the 2023 Toyota Sequoia price starts at $61,460 for the SRD trim and goes up to $79,160 for the TRD Pro.
Interior. Off-roading can be tough on both the vehicle and its passengers, so it's important to
have a comfortable interior. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia has a spacious interior with a third
row of seats as standard equipment. The second-row bench setup has an eight-passenger capacity as
standard, with optional second-row captain's chairs reducing the number of seats to seven.
However, headroom is limited in both of the rear rows, particularly when equipped with the
optional panoramic sunroof. The interior trimmings vary from cloth to leather upholstery, and varying
levels of wood and chrome trim as you walk up the price ladder. Higher trim levels offer features
including heated and cooled second-row seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium stereo system.
On the other hand, the 2024 Lexus GX offers a luxurious interior with faux or genuine leather
upholstery available in a variety of colors. Premium and luxury trims offer three rows of
seats with space for up to seven with the standard second-row bench. The Overtrail models are
strictly two-row affairs with seating for up to five. The GX's third row offers the option of
power controls. Additionally, the GX offers a cooled storage bin, a head-up display, and a
digital key fob as optional extras. The Sequoia's cargo area isn't as accommodating as other rivals.
With the rear seat in use, there's only 12 cubic feet of cargo space, and folding the third row
down doesn't result in a flat load floor. On the other hand, the 2024 Lexus GX offers ample cargo
space. With all seats in use, there's 11.6 cubic feet of cargo space, which expands to 46.7 cubic
feet with the third row folded down. With both the second and third rows folded down, the GX offers
up to 64.7 cubic feet of cargo space. Overall, both the 2023 Toyota Sequoia and the 2024 Lexus
GX offer spacious and comfortable interiors, with the GX offering more luxurious features.
However, the GX has a more accommodating cargo space compared to the Sequoia.
Performance When it comes to performance, the Sequoia
comes with a powerful V8 engine that delivers up to 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. The GX,
on the other hand, comes with a V6 engine that delivers up to 301 hp and 329 lb-ft of torque.
Both vehicles come with advanced features such as adaptive suspension and all-wheel drive,
making them capable of handling any terrain. After comparing the Sequoia and the GX,
it's clear that both vehicles are impressive in their own right. However, when it comes down to
it, the 2024 Lexus GX edges out the 2023 Toyota Sequoia thanks to its luxurious interior, advanced
technology, and smooth performance. The Sequoia's TRD Pro model comes with features like a lifted
suspension, skid plates, and all-terrain tires, making it a force to be reckoned with off-road.
The GX, on the other hand, has a full-time four-wheel drive system and an adjustable
suspension that raises the vehicle for better ground clearance. Both the 2023 Toyota Sequoia
and the 2024 Lexus GX are impressive SUVs that can handle off-road adventures with ease.
The Sequoia is more affordable and has a spacious interior, while the GX is more luxurious and has
a wealth of features. However, when it comes to off-road performance, the GX Overtrail plus model
edges out the Sequoia thanks to its lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, and skid plates.
Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and your specific needs,
since both SUVs ride on the same underpinnings as the new Land Cruiser and the Lexus LX600.
That makes the two vehicle pre-tier much the same. But we hope this video has helped you make
an informed decision. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more
