we are at Buena Park youth theater and
tonight we're taking a behind the-scenes
look of Once on This Island first we're
at the workshop where sets are
built they're hand making all the sets
right now this is going to be an 18t
Tall Tree but one real thing they have
is these rocks over here so the tree is
actually this wide this will be like
roots coming down over here and these
will be roots coming down over here I
remember a few months ago we came here
to volunteer
and we like we took all the props in
here out and then we re we sorted them
and then we brought them back in that
took like 4 hours what we have here is
about 40 Years of different costuming
from different shows I remember all
these heavy chairs I carried oh but this
is new this sign is new this wasn't here
when we were last year that was the one
from uh Shrek these are the islande
costumes that they
have how heavy is this thing it looks
intimidating nope it's pretty light it's
not a real Rock so all my dad told me
about this was like it's similar to The
Little Mermaid so the story is based on
on The Little Mermaid this stick is for
the demon of death which is one of the
four gods in a show in this musical
there are four gods and they have a bet
to see which is stronger love or death
now we're going to watch the kids

rehearse
[Music]
now we're at Buena Park Performing Arts
Center at Buena Park High School and
we're going to take a look at the set
this is where the musical will take
place these are the masks that's the
actors will wear on stage this is Papa
Gay's
mask
they're stapling the
tree what's cool is this set has three
functions it's Daniel's bedroom it's the
exterior of the gates leading to the
hotel and it's the entrance to the Grand
Ballroom it says waiting for Life yeah
the flashlights are definitely waiting
for life right now look this the real
rock that we saw the other day but like
this is foam over here now there's a
chance that me or brother might be
performing on the stage one day because
in next year they have the School of
Rock and me or brother might audition
for the violin
part this is what the stage looks like
from here I like the blue tint and then
there's also decorations on the left and
