Cabin Life in Norway

Currently in Norway and it is two degrees although it feels with the wind gusts like minus one. We've been staying at Udo's parents cabin for the past few days. It's this one over here and it's been absolutely extraordinary. The life in the cabin as well is quite different but actually quite familiar as well. So many people in Norway have winter cabins where they can come and escape to when there's a lot of snow and they stay here with the families and they go skiing and they just bake and cook and everything inside. It's very cozy and I think what draws me so much to the cabin life is that we used to live in a small cottage in the village where I grew up in McGregor and there's something about having a smaller home out in nature that just I don't know like it does something special. I've just been going through the rituals that Udo and her parents would go through when they come to the cabin and it's just been a lot of cooking and baking and good conversations so I'm on fire and yeah a life in a Norwegian cabin with a lot of chocolate. Just tell me! That's fine. So we're making skolebolle which is like one of my favorite buns. It is just like a sweet bun with custard in the vanilla custard in the middle and then we like to top it with like... Is it coconut shavings? Coconut shavings and what's it called? Icing sugar. Like an icing sugar as... Yes. So we're just busy making it now. Gonna let it rise for a while. So buns are a really big deal in Norway, I discovered. Oh yeah. I don't know how many Norwegian people follow you but I'm really curious because whenever I make buns in South Africa my South African friends are always like eating more than one bun is crazy but in Norway, as far as I know, eating like two or three homemade buns is totally reasonable. Really? Yeah. So I want to have a poll. Is my family just crazy or is this like a normal thing? But I definitely have like... I would say at least maybe now that I've gotten older like around two buns. When I was a kid I definitely had one. For sure. Obviously it depends on the size but when I buy buns I only buy one.
