The government of East Java province, PM Prof. Jatim, stated that it has reached the peak of meat production.
The production of beef from farmers is surplus,
until it is supplied to meet the needs of meat in other provinces,
such as Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi or Jabodetabek.
Secretary of the Directorate General of Agriculture and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Makmum,
in Surabaya on Saturday, November 25, stated that the success of PM Prof. Jatim to reach the peak of meat production
is due to the success of launching the production insemination program, or IB,
which has been carried out for about five years.
According to him, this year the government targets the birth of cows through production insemination
as many as 2.2 million cows across Indonesia.
The target has reached 50.2 percent,
among them originating from farmers.
Meanwhile, the population of national cows currently recorded as many as 30 million cows,
50 percent of which are from farmers.
From the IB program, PM Prof. Jatim targets the birth rate of cows to reach one million cows per year.
Especially for 2024, the Jatim Optimist farming agency is able to give birth to as many as 1.2 million cows.
