When you upload multiple photos on Instagram,
some of you may be surprised that the horizontal and vertical are different.
The original photo is like this, but it's cut like this.
Honestly, it's surprising that Instagram hasn't fixed this feature yet.
Anyway, let's find out how to fix this.
Hello, this is Nami.
There are three proportions of photos you can upload on Instagram.
Horizontal, vertical, and square.
But the problem is that when you upload multiple photos at once,
the first proportion of the photo becomes the same.
In other words, if you select the horizontal photo and select the vertical photo, it looks like this.
If you select the vertical photo and select the square photo, it looks like this.
Honestly, it's such an uncomfortable feature,
so I thought it would be fixed quickly, but it didn't.
So let's just find out how to fix it ourselves.
The fixing method is simple.
Just change the vertical photo to horizontal,
or change the horizontal photo to vertical,
and upload it by unifying the proportions in advance.
So I'm going to show you how to change the proportion of the photo.
There are two ways to change the proportion of the photo.
You can put a blank or cut a picture according to the proportion.
For example, if you want to change this photo to a square,
you can put a blank like this, or you can cut a picture.
What about when you change this photo to horizontal?
Likewise, you can put a blank, or you can cut a picture like this.
The first way to save the whole picture is
When there are many blanks in the picture and you want to cut it,
you can choose the second method.
Today, I'm going to show you how to change the proportion of the picture
by using Squarefit and Epic.
If you already have a photo editing app that you use,
you can use that app.
Let's open the app first.
It's an app that I use when I don't need anything else
and I just want to change the proportion of the picture.
I'll open Squarefit.
Then this ad video will pop up for a moment.
If you wait a little bit, you'll see a video skip or an X button like this.
Click and move on.
This is the first screen.
I'll call the picture first.
If you have a request for permission to access,
you can allow or accept.
I'll choose the picture you want.
I want to save the whole picture and change the proportion of the picture to 4 to 5.
Click Canvas.
It means the size of the whole picture.
It provides a variety of proportions.
If you click on the proportion, you can see that the proportion of the picture changes
as there are blanks on the left and right of the picture.
I'll choose the 4 to 5 ratio I want and click OK.
You can leave this blank part as it is,
but if you click the preset in the menu, the background will be filled like this.
If you click Save as it is in this state,
the picture will be saved in your album or gallery.
I changed the proportion of the picture a few times and filled in the background.
Shall we try the second method?
I'll call the picture I want from the new view.
I want to change this picture to a square,
but if I go into Canvas in the same way as before,
there will be blanks on the left and right like this.
In that case, click Cut right next to it instead of Canvas.
I'm going to cut the picture and fit it into a square.
If you click on the square, you can cut the picture like this.
This is called a crop.
You can also choose the size and location as you wish.
If you click Finish as it is in this state,
you can see that only the food is shown in the 1 to 1 square ratio picture.
I think it's much better because there are no blanks.
So what about the Epic app?
When I opened it for the first time, I got this kind of agreement.
I agree with both and move on.
If you click the Edit Start on the first screen,
it asks if you can bring the picture from the album.
Click Allow.
Select the picture you want from my album.
Select the background from the bottom menu
and click the ratio in the next step.
You can choose the photo ratio like this.
I'll choose 4 to 5 as I want.
Then there will be blanks like this.
If you go to the color, you can fill in the blanks like this.
In Epic, you can fill in the blanks in a variety of ways such as color, gradation, etc.
If you need it, try it slowly.
You can click the download button for the completed picture.
So what do you do when you want to cut the picture?
Click Cut in the tool menu.
I want to change this picture to 4 to 5.
If you click the ratio, the picture will be cropped like this.
It means that the picture is cut.
In this state, adjust it to the size and position you want.
One of the big strengths of Epic is the letters and stickers.
There are a lot of pretty letter styles.
If you are curious about how to use Epic in more detail, please refer to this video.
I'll wrap it up here.
Thank you for your hard work.
Today, I told you how to fix a picture that keeps getting cut when uploading an Instagram picture.
In fact, I brought today's topic because I thought it would be helpful if you knew how to change the ratio of pictures, not just Instagram.
I'll be back with another question next time.
