Prime factorization of 16 and 98 using a factor tree.
The prime factorization of a number is the prime numbers multiplied together that equal this number.
The prime factorization of 16 equals 2 x 2 x 2 x2
and 98 equals 3 times 7 times 7
Welcome to MooMooMath and Science In this video I would like to talk about the
prime factorization of 16 and 98.
Prime factorization is the process of finding which prime numbers multiply together to make
the original number.
Let's get started with 16.
I will first multiply 2 times 8 which equals 16.
I will circle the 2.
Next is 2 times 4.
I will circle the 2 because it is prime and finally 4 is 2 times 2.
So the prime factorization of 16 is 2 times 2 times 2 times 2.
Up next is 98.
I will begin with 2 times 49 because 2 times 49 is 98.
Next I will multiply 7 times 7 which equals 49.
I will circle the 2 and both 7s so the prime factorization of 98 is 2 times 7 times 7.
So there we go the prime factorization of 16 and 98.
