(Bundesliga 2023/2024): Highlights Werder Bremen - Leverkusen

That's it again here, Jonas Hofmann, and... Oh, that might go in, it does! It's a known goal, Thierry Mey. And then, well, every footballer's nightmare, really, to put the ball into his own net. It was Demand, the Belgian, just trying to contort his body. And, ouch. Cetera hung out to dry. He's won so many friends, the very style of football that he favours. There's no apparent weaknesses displayed by Leverkusen this season. Now they try to get themselves onto the front foot again, and it misses out, Boniface, there's the crisp shot, fired in by Frimpong! This is how it came about, Hofmann looking to play it in. Incapier was the man who dragged it forward. It did miss out, Boniface, it came to Frimpong, who had eyes for goal. Short piece of shooting, and Leverkusen well on their way to another victory, well on their way to a return to the summit. They might have more work to do defensively here, Leverkusen, Agu with the pass, Schmeichel scampering after it, and keeps it alive! And what a chance that it's taken! But offside, Marvin Dukes, flurry from the Werderaner, and Leverkusen discomfited, that was close. Agu's pass, there for Schmeichel, he deserves a lot of credit, and then it was Dukes. They have some defending to do here, as Leverkusen look for that third goal, is it going to arrive? It does! And no great surprise that it should come from Grimaldo. Happy birthday, Xabi Alonso. They really prized up the Bremen defence. Friedl tried to cover up, but Grimaldo didn't need a second invitation to fire it towards goal, having weighed up his options. And that, in all likelihood, will be that. Xhaka there just got caught a little bit out, and maybe this time... Oh, it was whacked towards goal, it was really packed with power. Wow, Jinma, he is a jet-heeled player, and taking a hit with ferocity.
