#Metrolink #LAMetro #LosAngeles
we are at Fullerton station and today
we're taking the metro link to Los
Angeles we're going to LA to show you
the three new Metro stations and we'll
visit some museums along the
[Music]
way we made it to La Union Station and
now we're transferring to the A- line on
stop to China
town we have arrived in
[Music]
Chinatown this is Bruce Lee's
[Music]
Memorial we found a Chinese Bakery as we
were walking back towards ala
Street at this pastry place we got three
Sesame balls three egg rolls and and one
steamed
[Applause]
bun now we're at the Italian American
Museum of Los
[Music]
Angeles there used to be a Little Italy
here in LA but everyone moved
out this is the building we're in right
now Tommy lazord was the manager of the
Dodgers and he led the team to many
World Series this museum has Iron Man's
Battle Dam helmet from
endgame this section is on Lou Prima a
popular musician of Italian
descent I actually know a song by Lou
Prima called Sing Sing Sing last year at
my school the show choir did that
[Music]
song This violin belonged to Louis Prima
he began learning at the age of seven
and that is the Italian American Museum
of La which is free to visit and it's
our first time here and it was actually
way cooler than I thought for the amount
of space they actually give tons of
information and I didn't even know that
La used to have a Little Italy so in an
hour we went to China then Italy and now
we're in
Mexico thank you gra
[Music]
you we are at Aila Adobe which is the
oldest house in Los
Angeles
[Music]
this is the
kitchen I never knew this place
existed
[Music]
we found another free museum which is
the LA
[Music]
Firehouse our next stop is the Chinese
American
[Music]
Museum each grain of rice represents
eight Chinese people so in the 1860s
there's two grains of rice for 16 people
so between 1940 and 1960 there's a huge
increase oh because Congress repeals the
Chinese Exclusion law
and now there's this many
[Music]
grains this is a replica of the sun wing
wo herb shop and General
[Music]
Store this exhibit is the Boba show
which is one of my favorite
drinks although Boba milk tea was
invented in Taiwan most Southeast Asian
countries have long used tapioca balls
as some form of dessert and that is the
Chinese American Museum my favorite part
was the b bik c I like how this is
another free museum that lets you learn
about the history of the area and the
culture now we're back at Union Station
we're going to take a three stops to
Bunker Hill station which is one of the
three new
[Music]
ones the this is Bunker Hill station
which is the deepest station in La the
station is so deep that the only way to
get up is to take the
[Music]
elevator there are a lot of cultural
institutions here such as mocha which is
an art museum or Disney Concert Hall but
right now we're going to check out the
Broad
[Music]
Museum
[Music]
this is a video showing different chess
matches and to me it's very cool because
I like chess and that's the Broad Museum
we were here last time so we just
quickly went through again but the
reason why we came here is to show that
it's so close to the train station like
that's the museum and that's the station
right
here we made it to Los Angeles City Hall
and we're going to try to go to the 27th
floor for the observation deck
we're taking the express elevator to the
22nd floor and after that we need to
take another elevator to get to the
[Music]
27 wow three elevators just to get to
the
top
wo is this all we're coming here for
because this is pretty
cool is pretty
hot that's Walt Disney Concert Hall over
there which means I guess we could have
just walked here from there I didn't
know and then downtown
ol uh there's the Hollywood sign oh yeah
and griffith observator is there the
white
building there's a Metro Link train
rolling in at Union Station over there
and that is the Los Angeles City Hall if
we're ever showing people around Los
Angeles this is this would be a great
place to come because it's free and you
get a great view of pretty much
everywhere we're at another news station
this is Little Tokyo and here's some
Japanese related
artwork just across the Little Tokyo
Arts District station is the Japanese
American National
Museum first we're going to check out
Aki's
Market this is a virtual Recreation of
Aki's market and this virtual experience
is done by his grandson the mat here is
the actual size that the market was so
stepping into the market it was such a
surreal experience because I've never
done I've never done a virtual reality
experience at a museum
before
hello the door open on there
okay oh
wow
sorry
[Music]
watermelon do these open
nope
you this exhibit is called common ground
and it talks about the Japanese
interment
camps this is Hart mountain in Wyoming
where the Japanese were incarcerated and
we've actually been there
[Music]
before oh these are artifacts from all
of the intermittent camps this is the
model of a concentration camp it looks
[Music]
like
no sad oh it's this one no it's lighter
this
one yeah just close it
[Music]
up
and that is the Japanese American
National Museum my favorite part was a
keys Market it was super cool and it was
VR also I liked the bias exhibit
upstairs and if you want to see AIS
Market make sure to do so before January
28th 2024 I'll try our next
[Music]
stop
and that is our metr link Adventures to
Los Angeles my favorite thing that we
did today was of course Little Tokyo but
I also do like the Japanese American
well that's part of Little Tokyo yeah
but it's a good Museum the Japanese
American National Museum that was very
cool and if you ever come to Los Angeles
you have to check out that whole museum
I like all the different cultures we
experience today from China to Italy to
Mexico to Japan and all of this was
super convenient because all we had to
do was take the Metro Link to Union
Station and once we were there
everything was within walking distance
of a light rail station see you in the
next video bye
