Annyeong chingu!
Annyeong!
I'm your main host, Professor Oh.
And I'm Yoona.
Yoona was in a lot of K-WOW videos when we did the travel episodes.
We are in Koreatown, LA, Los Angeles.
It's winter, and we're going to eat patbingsu today.
What's the bingsu shop we're at?
Oglumong.
They not only sell bingsu, but they also sell other sweeties as well.
And those fish look like they're exploding.
Traditional red bean porridge.
Slushies!
And that's what we came here for.
We just ordered our patbingsu.
And this is going to ring, and we're going to pick it up.
So while we're waiting for our bingsu to be prepared,
we are having a little appetizer this morning.
It's branded. It has a stamp on it.
You guys, it means red bean bread.
And of course, in the inside, there is a good amount of red bean.
Some patbingsu, the bread is super thick,
and there's a little bit of red bean.
But this one has a good balance, like a 50-50, as you can see.
The bread is thin.
How is it, Yuna?
It tastes like sweet red bean.
Does it taste like winter or summer?
Winter.
Does it taste like winter or spring?
Winter.
Does it taste like winter or fall?
Winter!
It tastes like the transition from fall to winter.
Yuna is picking up our bingsu.
Oh my gosh!
So exciting!
It is such an honor to be eating patbingsu with you again.
The last time we ate bingsu together
was in Korea last year, over one year ago,
when we were filming KWEL Season 4.
Cheers!
The bingsu that we ordered is the green tea bingsu
with the red beans on top and mochi.
Bite into that bingsu.
They serve the bingsu in these golden bowls,
which they also sell.
You can buy it as a gift set.
90 bucks.
They have antique tableware.
You'll see so many other types of bingsu.
They even sell pumpkin porridge and sikhye,
you know, the Korean traditional sweet drinks.
If you start getting chilly from all that bingsu,
right over there, that is barley tea.
So, Yuna, how did you like your bite of bingsu?
It was cold.
As bingsu should be.
Today is New Year's Eve.
We came in right before it opened at 11 a.m.,
so that is why we are the only ones here.
It feels very VIP this way.
Sometimes when you dig your spoon into a bingsu,
the ice is all stuck together,
so you have to kind of fight it to get your piece,
right, your bite.
But this one, it feels very fluffy.
It's very soft, so you don't have to fight with the ice.
This is made of green tea, you know, the matcha.
Not too sweet, actually.
It's just matcha.
You have to eat it with the red beans.
The red beans are what gives it that sweetness.
And on the inside, it's white.
Why is it white?
Is it just plain ice?
Oops.
Look at the ending.
Oh, but inside that white, there's something else.
There's something dark in there.
I think it's more red bean, yeah.
It's like an archaeological dig, like,
oh, what's beyond that?
Ooh, what's next, you know?
It creates a sort of excitement.
I'm on a short and sweet trip to L.A.,
and the bingsu is my last meal
before I head back to SF.
The minute I flew into L.A.,
we went to a Cuban vegan restaurant.
We were just eating a lot of vegan food back-to-back.
We are not vegan, but we love vegan food,
for those of you who are confused.
And then two nights ago,
we went to one of our best friend's house,
and she made samgyeopsal for us.
It was a housewarming party slash reunion dinner.
Ooh, cheers!
I have a 1.45 plane to catch,
and it is 11.27.
We only have a couple more minutes
to finish this bingsu,
and then we're gonna head over to the LAX airport.
In NorCal, it's really hard to find a great bingsu shop,
so it's totally worth being late and missing my flight.
You know teamwork.
Why?
Let's see how this half-snowman tastes like.
It's chewy, but when you bite into it,
it's just like a pillow.
The best way to describe this mochi
is soft like Yoona's eye bags.
What?
It's like biting into an angel's cheek.
I'm getting some major brain freeze here.
But it's worth it.
This was the best brain freeze I've ever had.
And this is the first meal I've had this morning, today.
So this is my breakfast.
You know, you just gotta let it melt more.
And it starts looking like cereal.
And then maybe you could put some flakes in there
and some granola.
What?
It's like I'm eating.
I am really full right now.
And we have to go to the airport.
Let's go.
Okay, let's go.
Hope you guys enjoyed eating bingsu with us.

Okay, now we gotta go to the airport.
So, annyeong!
Eunha and I are gonna party like crazy until 6 AM.
Do you think we're lying or not?
Carbs galore.
Let's get fat.
You jjigo like this.
What's jjigo?
It means to dip.
We're gonna make gogeumbap ourselves.
Double rainbow good or five stars times unicorn good?
Sizes tend to range from small to medium.
If you could speak Korean well,
then you could bargain and you could get a way better deal.
So, I just got this dress for 10,000 won.
Easy to get lost here.
Did I already come here?
One place I'm gonna go for sure right now
is the circle lens shop.
I got a black one.
