Hey foodies, welcome to Cooking Shuking. Hope you all are doing well.
I absolutely love tea and that is the reason today we are making five types of chai or tea.
Here you can see we have some honey lemon chai, chocolate tea, tandoori chai, herbal green tea
and ice tea. Doesn't that look fantastic? Now let's begin making all of them.
Let's begin the recipe. First we are going to make herbal green tea. To make herbal green tea,
we will heat up a saucepan. In this saucepan, we will add one cup of water. This is the same cup
in which I'm going to serve it. So just fill it up with some water and then add it to the saucepan.
While the water is heating up in high heat, we will also add one pinch of black pepper.
Here I'm using black pepper powder. You can also use white pepper powder if you wish to.
Along with the black pepper powder, I'm also adding a pinch of cardamom powder.
If you don't have cardamom powder, just crush it and add one. Now we are going to bring this to a
boil. Once the water comes to a rapid boil, we will turn off the flame and then add the
mint leaves at first. Here I'm using 15 mint leaves and we are also going to add 15 tulsi
leaves or Indian basil leaves. Quickly give it a stir, cover it and keep it aside for about two
minutes. After about two minutes or so, we will serve it. Before serving, add one lemon juice.
You can use as per your preference guys. Half a teaspoon, one teaspoon and then we will strain
it to the glass. I'm going to sweeten it using honey. If you do not want to sweeten it, you can
totally skip using honey. One teaspoon of honey. Over top of that, place a strainer and then strain
it. Before serving, sprinkle a little bit of black pepper, give it a stir and it's ready to drink.
The combination of mint leaves, basil, black pepper, cardamom and water is amazing guys. Do try it.
Next, we are going to make chocolate tea. Yes, you heard that right. We are making chocolate tea.
For that, here I have the same cup. In the cup, I have filled water about one fourth way and now we
are going to add milk to it. Fill the cup with milk and then add a little more of milk. In total, we are
going to use one cup of milk and one fourth cup of water. After adding the milk and water to the
saucepan, we will add tea leaves to it. Here I'm using three fourth teaspoon of tea leaves. Along
with the tea leaves, I'm going to add sugar. Here I'm using two teaspoons of sugar. If you want to
less sugar, you can use less sugar. Now in medium flame, bring it to a boil. Once the milk starts
simmering, we will add cocoa powder to it. That's how we will get the chocolatey taste. The quantity
of cocoa powder will totally depend upon the quality of it guys. Here I'm using Hershey's
cocoa powder and it is very mild. So here I'm using three fourth teaspoon. If your cocoa powder
is very strong or dark, use only one fourth teaspoon. Now give it a mix, bring it to a boil
and then cook it for another two minutes. Our chocolate tea looks great. Now we are going to
serve it. Here I have the same cup. Over top of this, I will place a strainer and then strain up
the chocolate tea that we made. If you are thinking this is similar to hot chocolate, then guys it is
to it as well. I mean, so you should definitely try it. And once you try it, you will get addicted
to chocolate tea. Now let's get to making tandoori chai. To make tandoori chai, we will first heat
up a kulhad made using clay. I mean a traditional kulhad. I didn't have a kulhad that is the reason
I'm using a bowl made using the same material that is mitti or clay. You will be able to find
kulhad or a bowl like this in the nearest market. I'm heating it up in the direct flame and we will
burn it until it gets black. If you have a tandoor, you can use a tandoor to burn it. The charcoal
flavor will be much nicer. Now let's make the tea for that. Here I have a saucepan. In this I'm
going to add milk and water. The quantity of water is one fourth cup and the quantity of milk is one
cup. Add both of them in and after that we will add one teaspoon of tea leaves, two teaspoons of
sugar and I'm also going to add about half an inch of ginger. If you want to add chai masala, you can
totally add that. Now in medium to high flame, we will make the chai by bringing it to a boil and
after that lowering the flame and cooking it for three to four minutes. Chai looks great, isn't it?
Let me keep that to the other flame and bring in the bowl. Here you can see how our mitti ka bowl
is completely black and it is looking great. This is absolutely ready for the chai. Now for making
the tandoori chai, just place this mitti ka bartan inside a deep vessel. Here I'm using just another
saucepan. It is slightly dirty but don't mind it guys. Just now I made chocolate tea using this
saucepan. You can use any deep utensil and now quickly we will pour the chai that we made.
Don't need to strain it right now. We will strain it later. That eruption looks great, isn't it?
Take out the chai from the kulhad and now our tandoori chai is absolutely ready to serve. Before
serving we have to strain it guys. So here is the glass, I mean the cup and the strainer and now we
are going to strain it. Looks just like any other chai but the flavor is absolutely insane guys.
The earthy flavor that we have in this chai thanks to the clay bowl that we burnt is absolutely
amazing in this. You should definitely try it once and once you do try it you will regularly make
this tandoori chai at home because it is so easy guys. Let's get to making honey lemon chai. For the
honey lemon tea we are going to heat up a saucepan and in that we are going to add one cup of water.
This again is water-based chai so one cup of water. In that we will add half a teaspoon of tea leaves.
Along with the tea leaves we will also add about half a teaspoon of sugar. Adding sugar right now
will bring a great color to the chai. Now we will bring this to a boil in medium flame. Our decoction
looks great guys. Now we will turn off the flame and then add the lemon juice. Here I'm using one
teaspoon of lemon juice. Adding lemon juice right now just brings a great flavor. Before serving our
honey lemon chai take your cup and then add the honey into it. Here I'm using one and a half
teaspoons of honey. You can also use two teaspoons if you like it. Now strain your tea decoction,
give it a mix and the honey lemon chai is ready. Absolutely humble but just as fantastic.
It's time for the last chai that we have in this video. For that heat up a saucepan again
and then add one cup of water. Again water-based chai it is. In the water we are going to add
two teaspoons of sugar and then bring this to a boil. Once the water gets a rapid boil we will
turn off the flame and then we will add one teaspoon of tea leaves. Now quickly cover this saucepan and
then keep it aside for about two minutes. Here we are making iced tea and without ice iced tea is
incomplete. So in the serving cup we will add lots of ice and then quickly strain our tea decoction.
Looks amazing isn't it? So here we have all the five types of chai that we made in this video.
Looks great isn't it? My favorite pick from this would be the chocolate tea. You should also try it.
