How we doing on there? I hope you're all spot on. Thanks for watching the video, now I'll be shopping.
I've been to Morrison's, come and have a look what I've got.
I was in Morrison's and I've done quite a few of these ranges but I haven't done this one.
I've done the steak pie with dumpling top and when I did that I got a few comments,
can you go and try this one? So I bought it and here it is, it's steak pie, shortcrust pastry
made with British beef, cooks in 28 minutes, 200 grams, there's a little traffic light system
for the nutrition and there is the serving suggestion. I thought I had to try this because
the others were really good, did a minced beef dumpling top and a steak dumpling top, very very
good. Anyway this was £1.79 so let's take a look at the packaging. I got it about a week ago now,
probably a bit longer and it's going to be eaten by today look and that is the date today. So I'm
going to get into it, I'm going to have a look, it's freezable as well. So let's go around the
back, a GB sticker there, it says produced by Morrison's from British beef, so that's always
good isn't it? And there's more nutrition there if you want to have a look at that and pause it,
by all means go ahead, we have 528 calories a pie. Warning, not suitable for those on a low
potassium diet. I have noticed in this range it does say that as a warning, allergy advice,
for allergens including cereals containing gluten, see ingredients in bold which we will do now,
there they are, there's your allergens, wheat, barley and we've got beef at 37%,
a little bit of spiel at the top, steak pie, shortcrust pastry filled with diced British
steak in gravy. How to cook from chilled or you can do it from frozen or it can be eaten hot
or cold. Lovely, right let's get this open and see what we have got. I do love a good pie,
I love, I've done loads of pies on the channel, oh that was easy to get into as well wasn't it?
There it is, we've had a bit of a bit of a leakage here, that's before we get going,
so like you say you can, if you want to, you can sort of get into that.
Now cold but yeah, I think the only pie I like cold is a pork pie, so we'll warm this up.
I've got some spiel on the side, it says made in Yorkshire with quality ingredients. Morrison's
pies are created from scratch using traditional recipes to bring that hearty home-cooked flavour
to your dinner table. Yeah, I do love a pie. Just need a load of chips and gravy now,
some bread and butter. So I've popped it in the oven, it's gone in on the bake setting for 170
fan, 23 minutes. Should have warmed up by now, let's get it out. Oh, oh it's leaking,
we've got a bit of gravy leakage and a bit of splitage, it's um, it's bust, it's good.
That was a little bit hot that, so let's get it chopped in half. I was hoping to pick it up and
eat it but um, can't do that now can we? I think it was bust from the beginning anyway, so we're on
a sort of a, we weren't winning from the beginning were we? That's what you get, there's your steak.
Oop, bit of a wobble on there. Tell you what, I'll put it down and I'll bring you down to my level.
We'll do the autopsy down here. So that's, that's your steak in it, plenty of gravy,
plenty of slippage juice for it to get down. It is going to be, that is, now it is hot,
you cannot say that this isn't hot. I just left the fan on, the last pie I did,
that turkey pie, I turned the fan off and it sort of was warm inside but not piping hot,
so I had to stick it back in again and give it a good zapping, but anyway that's hot.
So let's, let's get into it, into that beef. Bit of pastry top, I'll just get in like that.
I was hoping to get into it, you know, like, you know, sort of pick it up and eat it like,
but that's not happening now is it, but we'll, we'll do it like this.
So I've put, I've pushed the steak back into this sort of scythe
so we can pick that bit up because that's empty, that other bit.
Oh it's tasty, it is, well seasoned, doesn't need any more salt that's for sure.
Doesn't need a bit of pepper for me, I do like the pepper.
I mean it's £1.79, you've got to remember that, it's not.
There's a similar pie like this and it's the best, I think it's the best pie at M&S,
it's £5. Now that is full, it is full and it's tasty. So this is less than half of that.
It is tasty, that shortcrust pastry is lovely as well.
Oh yeah, god that is good, it's tasty, I like it. This range Morrison's are amazing,
they really are good. It was a Vamp Diva told me about this ages ago and I just didn't get
around to it anyway I have and I've done, I think this is their, the third one I've done
in this range but the other two are dumpling topped, can't fault it really. I mean not
nice if there's more beef but you know with the price point as well.
Fairly decent chunks of steak as well. I'm not going to argue with that, nowhere.
Thanks for the recommendation, I do appreciate it, that was, that's really good.
So thanks very much for watching, thanks for watching and subscribing, I do appreciate it.
Please keep the recommendations coming in, like I say, you know I can't, I get a lot of messages
on Instagram and Facebook, Bold Foodie Guy, you can send us pictures of the food then on there,
you can't do it on YouTube but please keep them coming in because that's a good,
good information, good intelligence, intelligence gathering, that's what we like,
get, you know, can find out where the food's from and I can try and get hold of it as well.
So yeah, thanks very much, take care all the best and I'll get back to you on the next one.
