It's been nearly 100 years since it was discovered in 1929,
but it's still a mystery.
Even now,
it's still unclear where the Sanxingdui civilization came from
and how it disappeared.
Are those strange-looking, strange-shaped green and red machines
made of real stone
or the sky of the Sanxingdui people?
Or is it really the history of aliens?
Why has a race that has lasted for nearly 2,000 years
never been able to digest words?
How did they communicate with each other?
Today, I came to the mysterious Sanxingdui site
in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province.
Let me tell you,
even the process of its discovery is quite unexpected.
In 1929,
a local farmer, Yan Daocheng,
accidentally sent out a lot of jade fragments
during the process of repairing the waterway.
After that, he took his family to dig many times
and hoped to be lucky again.
But not long after,
he and his family had a serious illness.
They thought it was a private digging that made them angry.
So they gave these treasures to others.
As a result,
the news of jade fragments being dug in the farmland
spread all at once.
In 1931,
when a British missionary from Guanghan County
heard this news,
he found the local army
and protected this place.
This time, the Sanxingdui site was spared from further destruction.
Three years later,
an archaeological team led by the University of Huaxi
planned to excavate here.
Unfortunately,
due to the chaotic situation in China at that time,
the excavation work was suspended for only ten days.
Until 1980,
it was welcomed by the official large-scale excavation,
and it was officially named Sanxingdui Culture.
The archaeological discovery in 1986
almost made all the experts go crazy.
The objects excavated this time
have changed from the stone and pottery
to various bronze and gold and silver.
Before it was directly overturned,
it was thought that this was the conclusion of the New Stone Age.
What's more strange is that
the bronze man who excavated this time,
the bronze sacred tree,
the bronze statue,
the golden mask,
and the golden fist are all items
that are not at all like Chinese civilization in traditional cognition,
but more like the products of ancient Egypt or Sumerian civilization.
These strange-looking and weird-shaped relics
immediately attracted a lot of attention around the world.
Some people even guess
that this might be the remains of aliens.
How incredible are these relics?
We have to wait until the end of July this year
to see the new museum of Sanxingdui Museum
that has just been opened.
The new museum building area of Sanxingdui Museum
is 5.44 million square meters,
which is about five times the area of the old museum.
It is a world-class museum
and is also the largest
single-piece museum of relics built in the southwestern region.
The design of the new museum is also very particular.
The whole appearance
is like a collection of three conjoined ups and downs
and a fusion of river, stream, snow mountain and forest in the distance.
It's like a mix of heaven and earth.
Because many relics in Sanxingdui
have a pair of unique eyes,
they are a reflection of the ancient Shu people's admiration for eyes.
So the design of the new museum
has a special hidden egg,
which is the eyes of the ancient Shu people.
If you look closely, you will find that
the covering material of the eyes is very particular.
It uses a special copper.
Because the original bronze relics
have become a unique bronze color
after a thousand years of oxidation.
In order to match the copper used now
with the copper texture of the relics,
we must quickly simulate this oxidation process
so that the bronze can also show
the bronze color after a thousand years of oxidation.
Zhu Bingren and his team
have been constantly developing and experimenting
in 120 days and nights.
Finally, the oxidation process that took a thousand years
can be achieved more quickly
under the intervention of modern technology.
Therefore, the eyes of the ancient Shu people today
and the ancient Shu civilization a thousand years ago
are one and the same.
Every explorer here in the future
has created a unique cultural metaphor for the ancient Shu people.
Now, let's follow me
and enter the ancient era
about 5,000 years ago.
What you see now
is the bronze man
who is said to be the king of bronze statues in the world.
He has been around for more than 3,000 years.
He is 2.62 meters high and weighs about 180 kilograms.
He is the largest and most complete bronze statue in the world.
He is located in the second sacrificial pit of the Three Stars Pillar.
You can see that he wears lotus-shaped
sleeve-facing pattern and back-facing pattern.
He wears three layers of clothes on his body.
The inner layer is as long as a small leg.
The back of the legs are open and protruding like a swallow's tail.
The second layer is as long as the knee.
The outer layer is as long as the belly button.
The three-layer clothes are decorated with
exquisite dragon patterns, bird patterns,
worm patterns and wood patterns.
The exquisiteness of its production and the elegance of its shape
have never been found in any other bronze statue
that can be compared with it
in the history of Xia Shangzhou at the same time.
His eyes are prominent and his ears are sharp.
His nose is high and his lips are long.
His hands are high and low and wrapped around his chest.
It seems that he is holding something.
What is his identity?
What is he holding in his hand?
It is still a mystery to this day.
At present, the mainstream view is that
he may be the king or the chief priest of the ancient Shu State.
He is holding an elephant tooth or a fist in his hand.
He is doing it in a very important ceremony.
Some people even say that
the prototype of the bronze man is
the left-handed tattoo artist in the Book of Mountains and Seas.
Let's take a look at the treasure of the Three Stars Pillar,
the Bronze Statue.
There are eight bronze statues like this in the Three Stars Pillar.
The one behind me is the most complete one.
It is called the No. 1 Statue.
It is 3.96 meters high.
Due to the lack of parts at the top,
it cannot be completely repaired.
According to the speculation,
the height of the original object should be about five meters.
It is nearly as high as the two-story building.
It is the largest single bronze cultural relic known to the world.
It has been listed as a cultural relic that is permanently prohibited from entering and exiting the exhibition.
At the bottom of the bronze statue,
there is a mountain-shaped base.
There are three layers in total.
There are three branches on each layer.
Each branch has a god bird on it.
There are nine branches in total.
This is exactly the same as the eastern god tree
in the Book of Mountains and Seas.
It is said that there are ten suns on the Fusang tree.
One sun every day
will take the god bird to the sky
and bring light to the earth.
The other nine suns rest on the tree
and go back and forth in such a cycle.
Why are there only nine god birds on the bronze tree?
Many people think that
the tenth god bird
is carrying the sun on its back.
So there is no figure of it on the bronze tree.
Among the many cultural relics
found in the Sanxingdui,
the most amazing thing
is its bronze statue.
It is 1.38 meters wide
and 0.65 meters high.
It weighs 80 kilograms.
It looks like a huge mask.
But is there really such a big face in the world?
And the most amazing thing
is the protruding eyes on the mask.
The protruding part is 16 centimeters long.
The shape is very exaggerated.
In addition, the ears are also wide open on both sides.
The huge corners of the mouth
reveal a mysterious and strange smile.
It makes people wonder
where the inspiration for this strange shape
comes from.
It is recorded in the Huayang Dictionary of the Eastern Jin Dynasty
that there are Rat Monkey, Silkworm,
Qimudong, and Chuchuang.
Judging from the prominent feature of the bronze tree,
the original shape of the mask
should be the first generation rat king of the Hu Shu Kingdom,
Silkworm.
So does Silkworm really look like
a strange image of Qimudong?
At present, archaeology
is still confused about the identity of Silkworm.
Even the name Silkworm
or the name of a tribe
is not clear.
Do you think people in Sanxingdui only know how to make bronze statues?
Let's refresh this cultural relic.
It is the golden mask you see now.
Its gold content is about 85%.
Its salt content is about 14%.
Other magazines only account for less than 2%.
The golden mask is as wide as a butterfly wing.
Its width is about 37.2 cm.
Its height is about 16.5 cm.
Its weight is about 100 grams.
Its eyebrows are hollow.
Its ears are round and round.
Its nose is high.
Its mouth is large and slender.
Its shape is majestic and sacred.
It is the most complete golden mask
in the archaeological excavation of Sanxingdui.
You know, in the traditional perception,
China at that time
did not yet master the mature alchemy.
So where did such a large amount of high purity gold
come from?
It is still a mystery to this day.
Many people have no choice but to say
that these gold should have fallen from the sky.
It happened to be found by Sanxingdui people.
And what's more terrible is
the strange shape of this mask.
It is the same as other bronze statues
with large eyes that are obviously not logical
and ears that are wide open on both sides.
Did the people of Sanxingdui
really look so strange?
Or are these strange faces
just the face of the gods
that they have concocted in their hearts?
Or is it the real appearance of extraterrestrial life?
In addition to the golden mask,
this gold-made scepter
seems to be incompatible with Chinese tradition.
Because no matter how strange the cultural relics
we discovered before are,
they all have an obvious oriental color.
But this golden scepter
has to remind people of
the things in the hands of ancient Egyptian pharaohs.
You see,
it's wrapped in a 0.2-millimeter gold foil.
When it was unearthed,
the inside of the scepter was rusted,
and only the outer gold foil was left.
The length of the gold foil is 1.42 meters,
diameter 2.3 centimeters,
and weight about 500 grams.
It is the largest amount of gold
unearthed in China at the same time.
At the top of the golden scepter,
there is a headband of five feet high,
and a pair of earrings.
It reveals a smiley portrait pattern.
At the bottom of the golden scepter,
there are two pairs of fish and birds back to back.
The neck of the bird and the head of the fish
are all pierced by a sword.
And what do these patterns represent?
Is the scepter a sacrificial item
or a magic instrument that the King of Shu has used to communicate with the gods?
It is still a mystery to this day.
As more and more cultural relics were unearthed,
the civilization of the Three Stars Pile did not become clearer.
Instead, there are more and more mysteries.
The most fundamental reason is that
so far,
we have not found any text
in the Three Stars Pile.
All the conclusions are almost entirely based on guesswork.
The only thing worth referring to
is the ancient mythological writing of Shan Hai Jing.
It is reasonable to say that
with such a high production process,
it is impossible to dig up the text.
Is it possible that all the records
have been deliberately erased?
So far, we still do not know the truth.
In fact,
it is not only the people of the Three Stars Pile
who did not leave any records of text,
but all the historical documents in China
have never mentioned the Three Stars Pile.
It seems that this civilization
has never existed.
But with the further excavation of the Three Stars Pile,
we have reason to believe that
in the ancient Basu region,
there was indeed a highly civilized ethnic group.
They are an important part of ancient Chinese civilization.
The discovery of the Three Stars Pile
provides unique evidence for the ancient Basu country that has disappeared.
It has advanced the history of civilization in Sichuan for more than 2,000 years.
It proves that the Yangtze River Basin is the same as the Yellow River Basin.
It is also the birthplace of the Chinese nation.
Even in the Yangtze River Basin,
there was an ancient civilization that was no less than the Yellow River Basin.
At present, the excavation area of the Three Stars Pile is less than 20,000 square meters,
and the total area of the site is 12 square kilometers.
In other words,
our decades of archaeological work
has only revealed two-thousandths of its mysterious mass.
Just like that,
the discovery of the Three Stars Pile
has been regarded as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of mankind in the 20th century,
the ninth miracle in the world.
As the excavation work goes deeper and deeper,
if we can uncover the origin, disappearance and text of the Three Stars Pile civilization,
these three ancient mysteries
may really subvert our understanding of Chinese civilization
and even the earth civilization.
